Ahh, that’s why I had a heart attack. I was drinking cider and not red wine ?
Will he? British Politician Johnson Wants Turkey To Join The E.U. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLQ3Gbiopc4
Absolutely nobody is talking about threatening our place in the Single Market
Daniel Hannan MEPOnly a madman would actually leave the Market
Owen Paterson MP, Vote Leave backerWouldn’t it be terrible if we were really like Norway and Switzerland? Really? They’re rich. They’re happy. They’re self-governing
Nigel FarageThe Norwegian option, the EEA option, I think that it might be initally attractive for some business people
Matthew Elliot, Vote Leave chief executiveIncreasingly, the Norway option looks the best for the UK
Arron Banks“Whatever one’s views on the EU debate, many will agree that parliamentary sovereignty should be the key focus in any renegotiations.” Jack Lopresti, my local MP who then went mad when it was ruled that Parliament must be consulted over Article 50.
Jacob Rees-Mogg’s voting record shows he’s voted consistently against a wholly-elected House of Lords, and consistently against removing its hereditary peers, until they don’t vote the way he wants…
You just cannot believe what any politician of any persuasion says.
What a load of twaddle EU facts behind the claims: UK influence
“And to think, I was still quite happy with the Phenom II X4 965 system. This literally blows it away.”
I did say modern hardware is in a different league ? and seeing is believing!
I can’t remember what mobo you got now, but if it has an NVMe M2 slot, make your next drive one of those. I couldn’t believe what a difference it made to the recent mega build PC.
The owner had a similar revelation when he opened the biggest most complex dwg file he has and just smoothly zoomed in and out of it. In that case it was the 4GB 1050 Ti doing all the work, the CPU is waiting to do the grunt work of editing.
I have some (slightly wrong) instructions on setting up CIFS for a Pi Nas. I must get around to turning my experiments into something that can be replicated and written up. It’s been too flipping hot in the workshop and now it’s full of 2 student houses kit for the summer break.
One problem Ed, it’s NFS only.
This is the whole point, everyone just bangs on and on about trade deals, it’s far more than that. We are intertwined with the EU in so many ways.
It even includes permits for road haulage. The RHA were on Sky commenting on Dover councils (Tory) report into what chaos will ensue there if there is no deal. The RHA say European hauliers are losing interest in bring goods here due to the uncertainty. Good news, more can go to UK hauliers. Hauliers who make international journeys for hire or reward within the European Union (EU) must hold both a Community Licence and a Standard International Operator’s Licence. If there is no deal, and this is according to the RHA, UK hauliers permits will no longer be valid. Still that will solve the M20 lorry car park dilemma.
Scoff if you like, but it is this sort of thing that will have most effect not the absence of a trade deal. My daughter is studying German at University. Next year she will need to go to a German speaking country for 6 months+ to live and study or work as part of the course. Study used to be easy under the Erasmus scheme and work is a right. How is that going to work with no deal?
Moto are as near vanilla as you can get. The TechRadar review of the Alcatel says it has “an ugly Android overlay that combines with the case to make the whole thing a bit Fisher Price”. However I’m no fan of the cheaper Motos either.
I really believe you get a way better phone by upping the budget a bit into the bracket you mention. I’ve had a G4 for a couple of years now and feel no desperate need to change it. The Mrs just got a G5 for £135 from Amazon and loves it. The G6 is probably a bit more than I want to pay but I’ll definitely be looking at the G6 Play when the time comes. My 19 yo daughter has a £165 Sony Xperia XA1 which she loves and the 23mp camera takes some good photos.
There’s a whole Sam Smiths pub in the centre of Bristol, just up the road from the Llandoger Trow where Daniel Defoe supposedly met Alexander Selkirk and said to have inspired Robert Louis Stevenson to write of the Admiral Benbow Inn in Treasure Island. It was built at about the same time.
It’s too cheap for a website https://www.facebook.com/pages/King-William-Ale-House/135274529836873
Been there loads of times, it’s where the ex Royal Mail escapees usually meet. As you can see from the pictures on FB it’s still proper old fashioned.
Don’t forget mail isn’t sorted by people but by machines. Bloody huge great big machines. Parcels go to hubs which these days can be highly mechanized too.
It done this way because it’s more efficient, whether you believe that or not is up to you, but it’s a fact. The Swindon site is huge (and there’s a lot more than the Mail Centre there) but it’s nothing compared to the Parcelforce Coventry hub.
ECHR isn’t an EU institution, neither is the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).
“The Council of Europe was founded on 5 May 1949 by ten western and northern European states, with Greece and Turkey joining three months later, and Iceland and West Germany joining the next year. It now has 47 member states, with Montenegro being the latest to join. Article 4 of the Council of Europe Statute specifies that membership is open to any European country, provided they meet specific democratic and human rights standards. Nearly all European states have acceded to the Council of Europe, with the exception of Belarus, the Vatican City, predominantly Central Asian Kazakhstan,[1] as well as some of the states with limited recognition.”
With the ECJ, if we wish to trade with other nations we must comply with their rules and regulations and vice versa. Whether we are a member of the EU or not makes no difference. Who else is going to regulate the European rules but the ECJ?
If they change a rule that affects trade are we going to say we don’t want to trade with you any more? It’s not as if those rules change a lot. A dose of reality is required here.
I see little point in replying, you will just dismiss any answer, but let’s try.
I’d much rather be paid in Euros than Sterling and I’m sure that will be true for the foreseeable future . No the drop in sterling after the vote hasn’t been recovered, that’s just fake news, it’s still 13%+ down. January 2002 we got 1.6 Euros to the pound, 23rd June 2016 1.3, today 1.13.
Compulsory joining the Euro is as much fake news as the Turkey migrants scare mongering. It’s more making it up to suit the ideology.
Let me ask you just where are the Germans, French and “Eastern Europeans” heading? You must know as they aren’t the same as “ours”. At the same time you can clarify just what “our” interests are as you must know that too to make to make the comparison. Also Clarify who the “Eastern European” Countries are? Oh and who the “we” in “our interests” are.
What control do we have over the Westminster train? What will our future rules be? You can’t even tell me whether the next Government will be Tory, Labour or some alliance of who knows what. You couldn’t have predicted where we are now at the time of the last GE never mind the one before that so forget that crystal ball BS about who will be doing what and when and how.
There are many anti EU sentiments appearing all over Europe, but I don’t believe any of those countries want to see the end of the EU as much as they want to change it’s direction. That’s politics. What we are embarking on is self harm, or cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Bottom mounted is the best place for a PSU IMO. I can’t stand top mounted ones any more.
The mega build used a Corsair Carbide 270R http://tinyurl.com/y7rdj6jo All the spare cables easily fitted in the PSU chamber and those that are needed easily route up through the back with plenty of mounts for cable ties.
No good for D-Dan though as not enough drive bays, but 6 bay cases are rare beasts these days.
Whatever happens there will have to be a final settlement of what we owe. If we refuse to pay it won’t look good to those we want to trade with if out first action is to renege on our debts.
It’s all posturing and I think will get worse before a deal is done. Both sides need a deal so there will be one, the question is how badly will we be affected because it can’t be as good as we have now. Hopefully the answer is hardly at all but that will mean hardline Brexiteers making compromises I just can’t see them making on pure ideological grounds.
It’s finally finished! CCL supplied and tested a EVGA 700 B1 and it’s booting and running well.
I’ve been stress testing it in the 28c ambient workshop for several hours using Heavy Load to apply 100% CPU and GPU load. Temperature goes from ambient to 56c extremely quickly then creeps slowly up to a max of 62c after 30 mins. With the Corsair Link software you can watch the pump and fan working harder with the fan maxing a 2,500 rpm and the pump 1,800 rpm. The motherboard temperatures hardly rise so the single case exhaust fan never exceeds 700 rpm.
It’s well worth the wait, this thing is ridiculously fast. I’ve gone from never going to build a PC without an SSD to without an NVMe M.2 x4 and drive to match. Well maybe not for an office machine, but certainly with an M2 drive and not a 2.5″
Off to Cheddar on Monday to install it.
Legacy mode can be very hit and miss, especially with Linux. I had two different Gigabyte Brix, one needed a BIOS upgrade and the other a downgrade before you could get anything other than W8 to install (and that includes W7).
Totally unplug the spinner and try again.
Look at the boot drive settings in the BIOS.
Nolan, an ex-colleague is the office manager for RBL Whitchurch & Pensford. They got a card reader in for the same reason, renting out of the function room. However the WiFi was installed from pressure by the members!
It’s not just cashless, it’s paperless too.
On the recent trip to Austria even my weekly Vienna travel pass was on my phone as well as all the airport boarding passes. All the maps and guides I used were app based. No-one looked at my passport either, it was machine read at both ends.
Cash wise I find Europe is behind us in that respect, especially contactless. But 99% of public toilets have an attendant who you give 50 cents to. Very rarely do you see Paddington station style loos where you have to put money into a turnstile.
