Yep, same BIOS here. That’s the other good thing about buying refurbished top of the range business kit – extended support. Not many consumer laptops of that date will be getting their Intel vulnerability fixes.
I saw them supporting the Clash in Torquay in July 78 (happened to be on holiday there). Both were of course excellent.
I used to go to all the punk and 2 Tone gigs still looking like a long haired biker, which is what I was in those days!
Dammit, I really want one now ? My Three £27 12GB 12 month sim would be fine for my off WiFi usage.
Can you boot from the M2?
I heard a good rebuttal of the no-one can know forecasting. I cannot predict the outcome of the Premiership fixtures on Saturday, if I did I’d be down Ladbrokes now. But what I can do is look at the league and especially with past performance in mind have a good stab at it. Will West Ham beat Chelsea? I suspect I will be more pessimistic than BL.
Everyone knew that Osbornes predictions of gloom were as ridiculous as the over optimistic ones on the other side. Ignore the extremes, common sense tells you that we will lose, it’s just a question of buy how much. We are going to have to run quickly just to catch up with what we have, never mind improve on it. It will be super easy to piss off the supply chain businesses.
We are losing already, I’ve just had another CCTV price rise to pass on due to the performance of sterling. Laptops are up by about 10% too.
Please can you provide a link to the ERG plan? There is a plan for keeping the Irish border open. Well I say a plan but it’s based on fantasy.
I have no problems adapting to change, I have had two instantly physically life changing incidents to deal with. I have lived with disability for the last 37 years. I also have to live with the fact that the establishment doesn’t see me as disabled enough to warrant the help I need even though my doctors disagree with them. I have seen those goal posts move further and further away. So I don’t need any patronisation about dealing with change, what I need are proper facts about what that change will be so I can deal with them appropriately.
It’s seems it’s like a religion, you must have faith and not ask awkward questions.
So, please tell me, just what is the Brexiteers plan for the future of the country?
Not some airy fairy sunny uplands crap, detail is what is required now. And what will the ramifications of those plans be? Again, detail. How long will it take to put these plans into action? Who is actually be doing the planning? Last weeks economic expert reckoned that the country would be better off with a fall in the pound. He also thought that we’d be better off if Sterling rose. So no downside economically then?
Will Steve need an international driving licence next summer, will his insurance be valid? What about medical treatment? Will he need a visa? Should be be buying his Euros now? That what we mere mortals need to know just to plan our next holiday.
The problem with the NFS drive means you need 2 devices on the premises.
The problem with a USB powered drive means you no longer have a nice neat solution, you have more power and other cabling to deal with, plus the extra expense.
An OTG drive would solve both issues.
Do you watch every program on the BBC? Do you not have the choice to watch anything you want, or not? There is no law that says you have to watch the BBC. Would it be OK for ITV to show bias just because they make money from adverts? Is it OK for publicly funded Channel 4 to show bias?
Every single party when in power complains of bias from the BBC. Look for something and you’ll find it. My aunty complained that a Question Time audience was biased, I thought it was full of shouty angry Brexiteers who didn’t actually want to listen to anything other than their own point of view.
You like polls, so here’s one Is the BBC biased?
The same %age thought that the BBC had a strong right wing bias as a left wing bias. The most telling part is this: “Perhaps the most striking finding from our poll is the extent to which views on each of the broadcasters’ coverage is largely explained through the lens of respondent’s own ideological self-placement.” Which is exactly what I’m saying, you’re looking for something and so of course you’ll find it.
Well that decided what beer tonight.

Electric I’m afraid.
The Mail is of course renowned for the accuracy of it’s reporting ?
It’s even better out of the pump. We have a Brewdog pub in Bristol now and I noticed one near Tower Hill, across the road from the Hung, Drawn and Quartered (good Fullers pub). Didn’t go in as we were in the HD & Q to get some grub; Fullers do nice pies as well as beer.
There is only bias if it’s the opposite way to which you want.
My PiHole went down the other day after a power cut. Not had time to investigate yet but the Pi Ubiquiti controller next to it was fine. Both have the same SanDisk micro SDs.
Good idea about the OTG cable. I have a nano OTG stick around somewhere…
Yes, I have a 3 inch strip at either end of a 5′ by 4′ rug and we walk normally over it.
It’s related to the Bluetooth not the WiFi.
Coincidentally, the card on there is the same one that Blacklion has put in his new Elitebook.
I use the same (cut in strips) to stop a rug moving on the laminate floor. It’s so good you have to get the rug in the right place as you can’t move it even slightly once down. Of course the rug when you want it to, it just lifts up as nothing is stuck to anything.
Our English ale & lager doesn’t take to higher alcohol very well IMO. Belgian blond beer on the other hand never tastes as strong as it is.
Got a Brewdog mixed can pack with the shopping. 3 x Punk IPA, Dead Pony Club, Elvis Juice and Indie Pale Ale. Marvellous.
Some have the WiFi circuitry on a soldered on chip, this is the most common. Some, like that Asus, have a laptop adaptor in a socket. Same horse different jockey.
I’m quite willing to loan anyone the test kit (UAP 300N) for the price of the postage. No need to power it off the mains, it has a battery pack and a PoE adapter and a long patch lead. It weighs very little and a bit of blue tack usually holds it in place long enough if there’s no one to hold it up in roughly the right place. Often I’ll just place it on the top of a step ladder.
All you do is fire it up, wait for the light to go steady green and use your smart phone (or laptop) with WiFi Analyzer to look at the signal strength around the building. We reckon anything in mid yellow (-75 db or less) is fine for general use.
