Tippon, they make a statement about being more interested in launching rockets than holding committee meetings so I guess the same is true of the website. The spilling is strait out of Steve’s proactive text alp.

They meet in the local pub afterwards, sounds like my sort of club.

Dual antenna gives you some mimo, making the best out of the signal it can get. If the Asus has removable antenna I’ve probably got some better ones hanging around.

Your interpretation of my statement is your interpretation of my statement. It is your spin to twist things in your own direction and assign to me a view that I don’t hold. It then of course follows that you can attach other things to that statement, like saying I’m insulting people that I am not. This is exactly the same thing as the words we keep hearing, what the people voted for was my version of Brexit and therefore the will of the people.

So, how will leaving the EU specifically improve the lot of the people in say Cornwall, how long will it take and will they have to suffer any extra pain on the way? Will it make up for the loss of poverty-related grants from the European Social Fund?

BTW I don’t think the Cornish Leavers actually care much, for their own reasons they just want out. That is why it’s ironic that they are likely to suffer more than say London and the South East. It doesn’t imply that they don’t know what they were voting for and I have had many a discussion in the local pub about it (Ring O Bells, St Issey). They don’t feel I’m insulting them or accusing them of being thick yokels from my position as a liberal urban elite from the big city (Bristol). Those sorts of words are only used by a certain group of people.

3 antenna would give you another go at mimo but you would only get 450 if the other end can do 450 as well, this is rare. It would also involve more channels giving more chance of interference from the neighbours.

I have a spare 300 in the cupboard, more than happy for a try before you buy.

Did I call them stupid? No I did not and I never have. That is just another example of what is happening, words being put into other peoples mouths. Everyone that voted the same way you did wants exactly what you want etc. etc. Trying to pit the south vs the north, urban “elites” vs good old country folk. London vs the rest. Try and pigeon hole someone and then attack that pigeon hole, don’t actually worry about whether it’s true or not.

I think it just shows how poor the justification for Brexit is. When anything negative is pointed out divert attention, go on the attack in some other area. Speculate wildly on subjects you know no-one can actually predict with 100% accuracy, after all your outcome is possible in theory.

No-one can accurately predict the future in the same way no-one can accurately predict next weeks football results. However those that know more about football will do better than me, especially when it comes to wins or loses vs 100% accuracy on goals scored. I don’t call them out as knowing nothing just because they can’t predict everything, especially for my favourite team.

I don’t know, they may want our first born to work in the salt mines or something. Speculate all you like, but don’t forget everything that supports your view is sunny uplands and everything that doesn’t is some ritual punishment or another. Throw in vassal state every now and again just to be sure we get the message.

I have had enough of this populist, jingoist, crap and lies, because that is what it is. I have had enough of politicians on all sides using it as an excuse to get what they want under the guise of it being what the country voted for or what’s in the best interest of the country. What is saddest of all is that the areas that voted heavily for leave will be the most heaviest hit by any down turn and even Gove is now being honest and saying there will be.

There’s no point Ed, he clearly believes all the tripe peddled by the extreme Brexiteer end. Talk about Project Fear! It really is on a par with reds under the bed. It’s more stories to frighten the children, except in this case it isn’t the children they are quite happy with things as they are.

We have clearly thrived in the last 40 years in the EU, and yes I do remember what it was like before, the sick man of Europe. I cannot see why we wouldn’t continue to thrive if we remained. Quite frankly I couldn’t care less about things like a European Army, it makes perfect sense to me.

If we leave I think we are more likely to become the 51st state. Trump will have us by the short and curlies because we will desperate enough to let him. India want to push their dodgy Pharma on the world, that’s why their trade negotiations keep on failing with the EU and US. As for China we’ll be looking to them for investment to replace what will be lost. We barely own any of our infrastructure or manufacturing as it is.

The Commonwealth countries are more interested in regional integration because that makes sense. Why transport goods half way around the world that we / they can get regionally? That only makes sense in the Brexiteer fantasy land and again plays to a certain audience, but there is no Colonial Office to dictate terms any more. Best keep quiet that a deal with New Zealand would destroy the Welsh lamb industry which would already be facing a 12% tariff on the 90% plus of it’s output which goes to the EU. But that’s OK because they can all become fishermen, or pick the vegetables and fruit on English farms that they can’t grow on their own.

You can have issues with some ram combinations, usually with older bioses. I have a laptop where whatever combination of 2 x 4GB sticks is shown in the BIOS as 8GB but Windows only gave a usable amount of 6GB, sometimes less. That was actually down to the combination of single sided and double sided sticks and so was the hardware not Windows despite what thew hardware was stating.

Those who say WTO rules are fine forget who actually pays the extra tariffs, it’s us the consumer. OK some things will be cheaper but overall it looks like us average Joes will be worse off. Then there’s all the paperwork and checks.

Local TV had a businessman in the “Aerospace sector” saying the paperwork is fine, they deal all around the world. I know the business, my mate works there. They create pdf versions of flight manuals. No need for provenance and no sending goods through customs, but that wasn’t mentioned. Then we had 2 local businesses that actually manufacture goods, they have opened facilities in the EU so they can continue their businesses at the cost of local jobs. These are not huge Corporates, they are the SMEs that keep the economy going.

It’s pointless trying to saying anything against Project Hopeless Optimism.

Let’s not forget that there wasn’t a Brexiteer good enough to lead the Conservative Party when the time came. It doesn’t stop them whinging about it now though. A fine piece of democracy that was too, it was a Coronation reached behind closed doors. Just what the EU is accused of by the very same people.

ED, I’ve been through this with my son. Your’re fighting the establishment, you get no help from them especially if there is a cost attached to it. Just getting a diagnosis takes years and you can’t even start the fight until you get one. Everything will be done to kick it into the long grass in the hope of a time out. It is absolutely soul destroying when you find out what the truth is behind the institutions you thought were there to care. They don’t. Some people at the sharp end try their best but the institutions themselves are all talk no action.

Things changed dramatically when Dan got into University; they had the money, the staff and the attitude.

There is just so much needs sorting out in this country but this Brexit nonsense is just swamping everything. I fear it will do so for years to come.

Vassalage is just such a loaded and totally incorrect statement. It’s typical of the language being used however. If that is the only way to promote your argument it just shows how bad it is.

How could Farage play hardball with the EU when he only attended 40% of votes? He just insulted them and wound them up. By the same token Sinn Fein are playing mega hard ball with Westminster. I know, I’ll lobby my MP to not turn up, that’ll teach them.

It’s all myth and made up fantasies isn’t it? Play to the fears and emotions of the crowd, don’t worry about any actual facts. I really fear for this post-truth world and the male, pale and stale generation that peddle it are going to face a huge backlash when they’re eventually found out.

Well that’s the problem with Farage etc. all they can do is wreck other peoples ideas and offer none of their own. All while taking the pay cheque of course.

Lee and I have had a PM exchange about this but I’ll repeat it here as some may find it useful. Firstly my 5Ghz USB devices all failed the Linux test. Can’t say I am hugely surprised.

I have been using TP-LINK TL-WA801ND 300 Mbps Wireless N Access Points in AP, Bridge and Client modes for the last 2 / 3 years and find them rock solid. As you are dealing with Ethernet and set up is via a browser they are o/s neutral. They have 5dbi antenna so signal is only an issue of you live in an “awkward” house.

I have had one attached to my Sky box 24 / 7 for 2 years and it’s never missed a beat. When we had work done in the house and had to temporarily move the router, I used a pair as a wireless bridge to the new location. 24 / 7 for 6 weeks, no problem. They are £22.36 on Amazon

There are dual band 5Ghz equivalents around from all the usual players but they are considerably more expensive. I have no experience of them as 300 is fast enough for me in the circumstances I use them.

Forgot to add it comes with it’s own passive PoE injector so can be used 30 metres from a power socket.
