Nice. Is the cap tight enough to survive putting on a key fob?
I just tried Ocado again and I don’t know if it’s because I’m a long term Smart Pass subscriber or things have slackened off, but I got a slot for tomorrow evening any time I wanted after 4pm.
Big relief as the Mrs was just getting changed to go to Tesco which she really didn’t want to do, for many reasons Tesco related not just the current situation. Not much on offer, lots out of stock, but I got 99% of what I wanted so no complaints.
However I am determined to keep up the support of the local small businesses who are offering delivery services. The quality is so much better and the prices aren’t that much more.
Best of luck Bob.
March 28, 2020 at 8:33 am in reply to: Quick note to police, nhs, army, firebrigade and everyone else. #42167We had two Iceland home delivery vans torched in one of the white trash estate areas of Bristol. The same area that produces motorbike / cycle thieves who openly boast on social media of their actions.
Most of the residents are as appalled as everyone else but someone must know who these scumbags are.
March 28, 2020 at 8:28 am in reply to: Virtual Grandnational – This is the best news I have had! #42166I think they’ve done something similar before as an experiment to compare the old classic horses to the latest ones.
No betting though!
Been busy batch cooking, then I forget.
All the chickens are coming home to roost. The final wash up and finger pointing is going to be interesting.
Hancock has it too, all those mixed messages…
Happens a lot. The Legion building has been added to and extended over the years and the cabling gap between to two function rooms is now officially full. As it was once a substantial external wall I’m going to have to get creative if we need to put anything else in!
There’s a lot of that going on. The thing is they could furlow them at 80% pay but many employers just can’t be arsed with the paperwork.
I know of quite a few people who are being shabbily treated and the banks are up to their old tricks. When we come out of this there are going to be a lot of casualties and it isn’t going to be the establishment. BoJo may be keeping his ratings up for now, but if HMRC and the banks fail to deliver in time and people start going hungry and homeless it will be different.
The Bristol Beer Factory decided to totally stop all operations the day before my delivery was due 😢
That prompted my to look again at my very local Great Western Brewery who had always hinted they were going to do delivery but collect from the shop was working well. They’ve got their act together and 10 litres of Hambrook Pale Ale was delivered at 3pm (ordered at 8:30am) for £28, that’s £1.60 a pint 😂
Very good it is too, I picked it because I’ve had it on draught in the local pubs. Next time I’m going to try the mixed case and give the rest a go. 12 bottles for £25.50 delivered. Let’s hope they can keep it up.
So have a look at your local small brewery, there may be a good deal to be had. If you like proper cider Thatchers have always done delivery. Cheddar Valley 20L Bag in a Box for £42 – £1.20 a pint and bet you can’t drink more than 4 in a session.
I’m watching Star Trek the series on Netflix (trouble with tribbles this afternoon), never did get into Stargate but now may be a good time. I’ll go with whatever though.
Good luck Bob. I’ve just had the dreaded NHS text message which I guess a lot here will be having too.
Spent yesterday ramming home to the 84 yo m-i-l that she must stop going out, she just cannot stay in. Being deaf and with crappy eyesight she hasn’t been watching the news properly and seems to think it’s a kill joy move. I think we got there in the end, I reminded her how a minor chest infection took her out of action for months last year, but I’ll bet when the Mrs phones later she’ll have been out.
It’s not just the young being reckless, the older generation seem hell bent on self destruction too. Have you seen the scrum at the supermarkets for OAP opening time?
New laptops are very hard to get and have shot up in price. Refurbished don’t seem to be joining in the make-a-quick-buck brigade.
New shipments not expected until end of April – mid May for most makes.
It’s not often I agree with Piers Morgan, but the time is over for Boris saying you’re all naughty boys and I’ll have to spank your botties if you don’t stop.
We are now overtaking the Italian curve which is truly frightening. We have to get this lock down sorted now. Proper queueing at supermarkets etc. the scrums at opening time are ridiculous.
Ausfahrt 😄 I was expecting something else 😉 but that’s just my mind.
I do like a continental breakfast – when on the continent, the baked goods are always so tasty. The only exception was Berlin last year, but that must have been the otherwise excellent hotel as there were the usual 3 Bäckerei within a stones throw.
Statistics be damned, you don’t see the scenes from the Italian hospitals with seasonal flu.
It all shows are unprepared the world in general is and we seem to have wasted weeks. With regards the economics I’d have expected some sort of disaster modelling and therefore a plan. But it seems not.
Good luck Bob.
I hope this cheers you up a bit. In Germany they’re panic buying sausages and cheese, its the Wurst Kase scenario 😉
I’ve been using our milkman to deliver extra veg supplies. Loads of meat arriving from the online butcher today. The freezer will be full for a while.
I’ve got all the original Thunderbirds, Red Dwarf series 1 – 8, Aliens 1 – 4, all the LoTR, and a smattering of other films. Let me know if you want any.
