Loads of Hawkwind, Ozric Tentacles, Kraftwerk and Iggy Pop.
There isn’t really anything such thing as “Hawkwind” their sound has changed greatly over the years. Most people still think of the early 70’s Silver Machine in the “Doremi” days. Just lately they’ve been revisiting some of the early stuff. You still get the full stage show too.

And I got to see Arthur Brown doing Fire as support in 2012 (?).
It seems you’ll be happy with leaving the EU in whatever manner the government decides then.
I’ll bet you won’t be silent if you see something you don’t like!
What am I being accused of pushing against? I have accepted the result of the referendum but that doesn’t mean I agree with the manner. Yet all I hear is that I am kicking against Leave, I am not.
When it comes to a general election Tories have to accept the result of a Labour win but no-one expects them to become socialist for 5 years (and vice versa). Quite the opposite, they are given the important role of being the opposition and keeping the Government honest.
How can that principle not apply in this case? I can accept the result that we are leaving but that doesn’t mean I’m going to just accept whatever the Government comes up with.
All I can see is blame shifting taking place before anything’s happened. If it goes badly it will be the Remainers fault because they weren’t behind something they didn’t agree with. Surely if the plan is that robust it can stand up to being questioned?
Pull together? Why should I agree to a course of action I see as the biggest mistake this country is going to make? Especially when there doesn’t seem to be a plan or anyone who could actually implement one properly.
Farage and the Brexiteers had already said they wouldn’t accept a close result the other way around. The UK Gov referendum re-run petition was actually started by a Brexiteer before the referendum result. So let’s have none of this we won so you must do as we say crap.
And the lies told are an issue, a huge issue, and an ongoing one. Something needs to be done about the sweeping under the carpet of “it’s just a campaign” lies, “everyone knows we make impossible promises” (but not admitted that truthfully). But a politician would never vote for such measures and would find some way to weasel out.
As for using the ballot box to deal with the bad politicians, Neil Hamilton is still at it and leader of his party in Wales. It seems the only way to stop them is to lock them up – Archer, Aitken, Huhne etc.
But we have the IRA (Bobby Sands) to thank for even that. John Stonehouse (remember him, the Reggie Perrin fake death) had to be made to resign. I can only hope that Trump’s “fake news” approach may prompt some action, but I doubt it.
This happens all the time. They’ve probably got a dummy web page ready and accidentally published it.
I thought that was what you meant, but just thought I’d check. Quite a few devices have that as an option i.e. can only access the default gateway.
No good for controlling IoT devices from the same LAN or for Chromecasts and Kodi Android remotes, but fine for giving a Smart TV access to the internet.
A lot of IoT are going to be cloud controlled using P2P techniques so that Port Forwarding isn’t required. This should still work and isolate that device from any others.
So I guess that’s the easy answer. Either your main router or a discrete AP needs multiple SSID capabilities with a “guest network” function that restricts access to only the default gateway.
The £35 TD-W9970 can use VDSL or ADSL and has a secondary restricted guest network, but it’s 2.4Ghz N only (I don’t find that a restriction). At the higher end the £70 Archer VR400 does the same (and more) is dual band AC and has USB sharing. You can also limit the bandwidth usage.
You say the guest network has no physical connection to your private LAN, yet it can access the internet.
How have you done this?
The “proper” way would be an AP with multiple SSIDs with VLANs but that starts getting complicated and needs business grade kit.
That’s now not that expensive. My UAP is £60 and TP-LINK TL-SG1016DE 16 Prt Ggbt “Easy Smart” Switch is £75. The £26 TP-LINK TL-WA801ND has a Multi SSID mode (4) as an AP and also supports VLANs.
The Amazon Fire o/s is a fork of Android. It receives regular updates in the same manner and has an Amazon curated store (although as has been discussed here before you can get Google Play Store on there as I have).
I believe most Smart TVs also use Android rather than straight Linux, but LG use WebOS and Samsung have their own Tizen (both Linux kernel based).
They’re everywhere. Also flagged as a £10 discount off your next purchase.
Email on it’s way.
Steve still has his i7 9XX running games just fine.
I recently inherited one from an ex CAD user who’d donated it to his student daughter. When the HDDs died they decided it was time to move to a laptop.
As expected it deals with decoding 16 x 1080P CCTV cameras without breaking sweat, so it’s sat as a hot spare at one of my customers.
” bad manured people”
Does that mean they’re not as shitty as they could be? Boom tish.
OK, a couple of potential problems. The primary WiFi unit is a wireless router, not a straight access point. This is going to cause issues with Port Forwarding and accessing anything on the ISP routers network, like a server or printer.
It can be turned into one, for some reason they call it “Bridge Mode” but only if you don’t want a mesh. You also lose most of the features like Priority Device and Guest WiFi as well as only having a single AP. Seems to take away the reason for having it in the first place.
It also intimates that most ISP routers have a Bridge Mode (yeah right) and this is what you’re recommended to do. FFS.
It also doesn’t support WPS so you must have a way of entering a password into anything that will connect to Google WiFi, which could be a real issue for a lot of cheaper IoT type devices. I find it hard to blame them for that though as WPS can be a security risk.
EDIT – Nolan, I’ll pop over any time with the test kit.
That’s a lot of money for what is basically a mesh WiFi station. I suspect most people will fall into the same trap they do with extenders and put them in the wrong place.
Most houses don’t need more devices, just 1 proper device in the correct location.
Facial recognition is a much abused term.
Facial recognition as in “this is a face” is quite reliable and should be called face detection. I’ll be installing a camera capable of this soon in the entrance to a care home (they will eventually have ANPR as well).
Facial recognition as in this is Joe Bloggs isn’t reliable, indeed there’s a lot of misinformation about it’s capabilities, but being able to throw the power of AWS processing at it is a good move. It’s only going to be looking at your own data though. so the question is why would you want to be told that it’s someone you would recognize anyway? What are the £ costs?
Battery life was good before, now it’s incredible.

I believe Lee got hold of a copy of the Forum, but it won’t be that easy to make it available.
It’s not like I live in a highly densely populated area.
I just think everyone has BB. The all number SSID is Infineon’s opposite. My 5Ghz scan looks more like your 2.4Ghz, but even then has more APs.
