Motorola G5 is a good option.
Not tried it but this claims to do what you want.
If your’e going to have bikes stored away from the house get a bike rail cemented in. Lock the bikes to it.
99% of tea-leaves will see that and go elsewhere.
It’ll be on IPlayer. All S4C stuff is except some films and the odd sporting event.
The SD on my mothers Moto G5 Plus got corrupted as well, tried everything to rescue the card itself but it was dead.
IIRC it happened after an update.
Thanks all, need to have a think about the best solution.
Will have to get the exact model number of the Android box that’s there at the moment and see if I can flash a newer version on, it’s stuck at about 4.0 so lots of apps won’t work. I suspect it’s a non-starter as it was a generic job.
The small pc was the plan as it’s so flexible, mum is no technophobe but could do with a better solution for media. ATM there’s a chromecast, fire TV stick, Android box, DVD player (hardly used) and the Virgin box which was never collected after the contract was stopped.(Does freeview only).
The Fire TV could well be the way to go, if it doesn’t do what she needs can always send it back….
Nice one Dave, I’ll have a proper look tomorrow, knackered right now. ?
I’ve not read the whole thing but the first few paragraphs make sense. The vast majority of people can only do one, sometimes 2, things properly at a time.
If you’re distracted by a ‘phone (or cat, beautiful woman, whatever) then the other thing suffers. The thing doesn’t even need to be anywhere near you.
Not very complicated really, it’s part of being human, some people just get distracted very easily.
(If I have the time to read the whole thing I’m sure I’ll find it’s more complex than the first few paragraphs imply)
Just checked the permissions on my LG G5, I only allowed contacts, SMS and phone. That’s all it really needs.
If you don’t have the option to choose permissions then it’s a non starter.
Killing Floor, for another day and 22 hours odd, timer on the page.
If you like conspiracy theories, then the Hunting Hitler series is an amusing watch, suggesting that Hitler did flee to Argentina.
I watched that, dedicated people even if they were chasing shadows of shadows.
It’s interesting that a person of that (alleged) age would make a claim like that, offering himself to the masses as Hitler. It’s been known for decades that a large number of the Nazis fled to South America, Argentina being a favourite.
I doubt that anyone will take it seriously, in public at least, unless it can be proved one way or another.
The hoard of Nazi stuff is not that surprising, it happens from time to time. There are collectors for all kinds of macabre stuff, even in Father Ted!
I think I’ll watch The Boys From Brazil tonight.
From what I can find there’s one due this month.
The only downside to the B50-10 is storage 128GB does not leave a lot of room for video recording lectures. How about going for a second hand Ideapad?
It has a SD slot, cards are cheap now, even 128 GB ones. Only reason I haven’t bought any is mine are mostly used in my helmet cam, it’s limited to 32GB.
Some of the Android apps will save to local memory (internal or micro SD), some are remote only. A very few will do both.
Just set up an old phone, hidden somewhere.
Loads of options but you could start here.
I did it years ago before I got IP cameras at mum’s place.
Just let the phone back them up.
You can then view/ download on any device that you’re signed in to your Google account. Set the new phone to do the same (over WiFi only is the way mine are set).
Kies is a piece of crap.
I got a Pixi 4 4″ from O2, like new, £9.99 delivered. They are out of stock ATM but they are O.K.. Not very fast but adequate. If your Galaxy was a full fat one, it’ll seem slow. It’s cheaper at Tesco, unlock codes are about a £1 on ebay. Cases and screen saver sets are about £3 on ebay.
