Nice find Ed.
I’ll read that later.
Thanks JCD.
Dropped some shopping off to mum earlier and had a good talk with her and her fella, they hate lease/ hire purchase type deals but they are of the opinion that motability is the way to go for me.
My car cost me nearly £1900 to run excluding fuel. That was insurance, VED, service, 4 tyres, pads and discs up front and bits and pieces like wipers.
I’ve emailed the 2 Cardiff Ford dealers and I’m waiting for a reply. The Fiesta is out as it’s getting a face lift later in the year and I’m not getting an outdated car brand new so Puma it is.
I had a very unexpected surprise today, my PIP review has very unexpectedly gone in my favour and I now have the Enhanced mobility as well as standard for Daily Living for 6 years. Missed out on the Enhanced rate for Daily Living by a single point but at the moment I think the outcome is a fair one.
I was really expecting to have to fight to get anything and have been saving so I could run and maintain my car for a year.
Dilemma now is motability car soon and sell mine when it still has a good few months before the first MOT (due end of November) or wait a bit. I’ll probably get a motability car sooner, only ones that are roughly the same performance and handling as my little Swift Sport (for resonable up front costs) are the 155ps mild Hybrid Fiesta ST Line X/Vignale or Puma ST Line X/ST Line Vignale.
I can’t use sanitizer, I have probable eczema on my hands, legs and upper arms. Still waiting to see a dermatologist. I wear gloves when out and about.
I’ve been using Dermol 500 for a good while for hand washing quick ‘that looks nasty, treat it’ situations but I also have to use Hydromol overnight on my hands and to put in bath water.
I saw a documentary about 4 years ago (might have been Vice) about the people that didn’t leave Pripyat, if you don’t know the town was essentially built to house Chernobyl workers and support their needs.
They were thriving. Lots of animals to hunt, loads spare to maintain populations and the animals were leaner and healthier.Very little cancer, they would have to break cover to get fags and most of them relied on battering. There were some instances of issues from contaminated water, as in sewage.
IIRC all the animals tested were background radiation or less. No mutations or weird behaviour.
In short, nature will win. No matter how much humans try to feck it up.
My second jab date was bought forward on Sunday via text message.
It’s now a fortnight tomorrow instead of the last week of April.
Fair play to the Welsh government they have really ramped up vaccination rates.
Thanks Lee, I’ll try now.
Keith, the brass differential covers work for me.
Ed, when I looked the specific Jakemy set wasn’t available on Amazon, some very mixed up descriptions as well, just like Ali Express. Probably the same sellers.
My truck would probably be a very good basis for an autonomous vehicle, it climbs up and over things it really shouldn’t and there are still a few tweaks I’d like to do but the parts are all out of stock.
All the brass weights in place, all hubs, both differential covers, steering knuckles and boulder rails.

Reassembled with battery in the tray but not plugged in.

Heavily cut out body to make space for the taller, wider, softer tyres and new wheels.

My tool kit arrived today, it’s epic.
Perfect timing as I blew my motor on Thursday (poor little thing has been working hard) and the replacement motor came today.
Technically not that hard to replace but chuffing fiddly. Also had to re-learn to solder wires. Tiny wires. New motor leads weren’t long enough so had to borrow the cables from the dead motor.
Also finished the mods for now, loads of brass, new wheels and tyres, bigger ones, so more cutting of bodywork. Little thing is a beast now.

Tool kit box, £13 odd delivered from Ali Express. No point putting a link in, price changes daily so might be cheaper on BangGood or somewhere else.

Truck ready for the new motor. Servo upgrade in place, hence the big bundle of wires held together with a closure nabbed from a packet of fancy rolls.
Hello.
Depends on what you did, what it is and how (if) you paid.
Can’t really help without more info.
You should be alright John as you cancelled straight away.
From section 8 of the T&Cs over here
To terminate Your membership, Your subscription must be canceled at least 7 days prior to the end of the current term (or within Your trial period in the case of trial membership). Certain features are available to upgraded or converted members only.
If your not happy still contact your credit card provider, explain what happened and get them to block further charges from them.
Have a good one Bob!
That is a truly wonderful verse. You must be very proud.
If you have a fairly recent mobile with a decent data allowance try setting up a hotspot, connect to that and see if the problem goes away. If so, ISP probably, if not probably the laptop.
Try a Linux live session also, if you have’t already.
Try to update the WiFi driver would be my first thing to do.
Had a quick look through the documentation and it looks like a lot of trouble to use a hobbled version of Windows.
I’ll stick to Mint, Chrome OS and Android.
Sorry to hear that Lee, that really sucks.
I had another test this morning which was a bit of surprise.
It was arranged last night and done by 8.45 this morning.
Dave, glad you have got somewhere with the vaccine.Hope you get the Pfizer one even though it took me about 8 days to feel ‘normal’.
Ed/ Teafs, I know someone who had it near the start of the first (Welsh) lockdown. He works for the council as an emergency responder, the people that come out when sheltered housing type people pull on the emergency cords in their homes.
Ambulances/paramedics are sent at the same time but often he and his work partner are there first.
He still can’t taste certain things like salt so his wife has to watch how much he puts on his food as he just piles it on to get some tiny flavour hit.
I’ve now trimmed the wheel arches, front and back and it’s a lot better. Could do with a bit more up front but that’s being picky.
Have some new wheels and tyres coming Monday (maybe) and some brass differential covers on the way. Should have been here by now.
Next on the list is the steering servo, it’s a bit weak. New stronger ones are about £8 + shipping. Might also remove the front bumper and relocate the lights in there.
