On Wednesday and Thursday I spent far too long on the phone trying to get another crutch as my hip is so bad at times I can barely put any weight on it and using one was twisting my back (not good when it’s mildly ruined anyway). Best answer I could get was ‘we’ll make an appointment for an assessment- it’ll be about 3 months’.
Eventually I got hold of the physio I used to see and he pointed me at this lot. Ordered some Coopers crutches on Thursday afternoon and they just turned up, I thought they were the same as the Coopers one I had but they are better, they have a slight squish to the handles and are way comfier. Not bad at all for under £14 delivered and no VAT to pay. I’ll use them again when I need other stuff, really impressed with the service.
There’s the Pixi 4 4, have one and it’s Ok, no powerhouse but it’s dirt cheap, almost disposable. Unlocks are about £1 on ebay.
Forgot that gel case/screen saver sets are about £3, also on ebay.
LG K4 at O2. If needed unlocks are a few £ on ebay.
I’ve bought a few phones ‘like new’ from O2, all were new but missing the original box and accessories. All mine came with just a USB lead.
That Asus is nice but way too much £.
Only makes sense if you’re heavily into VR and you have an expensive contract which you use of all the allowances.
RSB, Harry Brown might be your kind of film, Caine at his best, not his best film though, that’s The Italian Job.
If all that’s needed is a basic smartphone then it’s fine.
If there’s going to be any attempt to play demanding games or take fantastic photos look elsewhere, it’s no rocket ship by any stretch of the imagination.
It’s a perfect phone for a youngster, an older person who just wants some basic apps or an ‘out on the town’ back up.
Good point Ryan.
RSB, have you tried playing them via VLC or another media player?
I’m really looking forward to seeing it, have to wait for it to pop up on Netflix or Amazon Prime though.
The current Panda (2012 on) is a great little car, it’s on my watch list for when I NEED a car (probably not that long now). OFC I want the TwinAir engine but many think that overall the 1.2 is the better bet.
Problem is that a half decent spec is about £700 more than an equivalent Skoda Citigo/ Seat Mii. I’d be happy with any of the 3. The VW up is usually a lot more than it’s Skoda/Seat sisters.
I use the Office Lens app to copy all the documents, backed up via google photos. Everything gets sent recorded.
I learnt that very early on in dealing with the DWP and government departments.
USB C is epic, whenever I go back to micro USB if does my head in.
Quick charge is great, really handy if I’ve been for a decent bike ride and had Strava and Polar Beat running, combined they can suck about 15% battery an hour.
As predicted by my mother the DWP are being gits, they have asked for ‘A statement of reasons’, this means the want to check that the tribunal has applied the law correctly to my appeal. Of course they won’t pay any money owed or due until they have been through everything. My copy arrived yesterday so they now have a month to decide what they want to try next.
It also means that the automatic blue badge is out of the window as you need an award letter from the DWP.
Luckily enough someone at Cardiff Council has a brain and I now have a Blue Badge, awarded under the discretionary rules.
Nice one. Thanks.
That was in my news feed about 3am this morning, as you say a steal.
Heads up, tomorrow only you can bag a 24 hour sports pass for £0 from MSE
I have no interest in it at all but my mother loves it.
I’m slowly getting the DVD boxsets for as little as possible on ebay for her, doing OK so far, under £10 for the first 2. ?
I have my main phone set to auto- lock after 10 minutes of inactivity. 99% of the time I lock it manually. Unlocking it takes a fraction of a second thanks to the fingerprint scanner on the back (recessed) and can be done one handed which is very handy now I walk with an elbow crutch all the time.
It might be worth delving through the settings (should be in display, screen timeout or similar ) to see what your phone is set to do, if you haven’t already.
I’ve never had to unlock my phone to use Android Pay. Just tap it on the terminal and it works.
