I’ve tried several times, same result here.

Below is the actual text in the post.

I had a job getting my new chromebook of my mother on Sunday so I bought here one, a early Christmas present.

It wouldn’t update Chrome OS enough to enable the Play store so I had to switch it to the Beta channel, no problems then. All working fine.

This means that I’ll soon have a Acer C720 going spare (my mums old one) so if anyone is after a Chromebook to try Chrome OS let me know, it’ll be very cheap.

Hermes are mostly franchises I think. The local courier is bang on, never had an issue with him. He must deliver about 20 parcels a week in my cul-de-sac, sometimes much more than that. I noticed last time he came he’s moved up in the van world from a Focus size to a long wheelbase Transit, he must be busy!

A friend of my mothers fella spent 4 months in the Florida area of the USA visiting his son.

He got back home and amassed 9 points in 2 hours. All on the drive home from the airport and for being on the wrong side of the road .He’d had enough so hobbled the car and got the AA out to tow them home.

He had 3 points already so when it was all processed he had a years ban and a large fine.

It seems to be responding quicker, whether that’s my imagination or an actual thing is another matter. ?

              Any way, good job.

I use the Latest Replies first and then the back button on my Chromebook, a physical button on the keyboard (along with others such as forward and refresh) so it’s easier than moving the cursor.

Same issue here, on all my devices. Takes 3 presses of the back button to return to the list.

The local ASDA to me is all pay at pump, it’s usually the cheapest as well. There’s another ASDA about 1 1/4 -1 1/2 miles away which has a mixture of pay at pump and drive through, if the local isn’t cheapest then this one is.

I have a debit card in the car for fuel only, never more than £100 on it for exactly this scenario. I can load the account with more funds in seconds should I need to with the app on my phone.

I’ve downloaded the app mentioned in the article and will give it a go next time I get fuel.

Most of the car dealerships (and the Scania one) use a Shell station that’s even closer the local ASDA, the fuel price isn’t extortionate but the dealerships get discounts depending on the amount they spend. It’s also the only one this side of Cardiff that I know of that has the capability to fuel lorries and buses.

There are loads of petrol stations near me, being very close to some major commuter routes and Cardiff center is the reason.

The Cardiff City Stadium is opposite where Ninian Park used to be, that site is a small housing estate now. The memorial gates were saved and moved across the road.

Cardiff Arms Park is the name of the stadium the Cardiff Blues call home but the Principality Stadium (Millennium Stadium) is also on the Arms Park site. The whole site was a park.  So it’s possible to go the Arms Park without going to the Arms Park. (Go to the Principality Stadium but not the Arms Park stadium)

                            That’s insane.

It’s bad enough round here when the Bluebirds matches get delayed, not violence but just a bad feeling in the air.

The local ASDA to the Cardiff City Stadium can’t sell booze between certain hours when a home match is on, but the even closer Lidl and pub can. ?

About 10 years ago if Cardiff were at home, the routes from town were almost no go zones, now, if you don’t mind the traffic, it’s fine.

I just realized that I made a mistake when calculating the MPG, it’s actually 42.09.

on the whole engine debate the Ford ecoboost engines are great but if you cane them watch the fuel gauge drop quickly, same with the 2 cylinder turbo that goes in Fiat group cars, drive like a nutter and pay dearly at the pumps.

I’ve said it before but for mostly around town a smallish petrol is the way to go, mega miles a large-ish diesel. In between is where it gets tricky but I’d go for a 1.5/1.6 odd petrol.

The other problem is people being sold the wrong car for the wrong type of driving. One of my mothers neighbours saw her Captur when she got, liked it and went and bought a diesel one on the recommendation of the sales staff. They do mostly town driving so the diesel was the wrong option and the Captur was too small as they have a fair size dog crate. After about 3 months they realized the mistake and complained to Renault and after a threat of legal action (not sure how that would work myself, nobody held a gun against their heads, maybe miss-selling?) they managed to reject the Captur and get a petrol Kadjar which is way better for them.

The first fill up from buying the car was yesterday, fuel light came on so brimmed the tank.  39.42 litres. Which apparently means there was 2.58 litres in the tank. If that’s right then the mpg over 365 miles has been 39.51. I’m happy with that as about 75% has been short trip urban journeys. The other 25% has been going the long way or just for the sake of it.

There are some great roads near me but you need to pick the time very carefully, about 7am on a Saturday or Sunday is mostly right apart from if there’s a big game on.

Nice find but sadly for me they are mostly inaccurate. Strava is probably the best known but it assumes a lot of things, to be fair it has to, there is no setting for a 16+ KG bike with huge low pressure tyres! WTF! ?

Got some bits delivered today, a fitted rubber boot liner, about an inch deep, fits almost perfectly in the boot (almost as it was rolled up when delivered, no doubt it’ll be even better when it’s ‘relaxed’) and some locking wheel nuts. I could have done the wheel nuts myself but it would have taken me hours so I went to a local tyre place. Saw the same bloke when I was there last week getting some tyres on behalf on my mum on her Captur, 5 minutes and £5, job done. Got home and my new windscreen wipers were delivered, £13 for a pair of Bosch jobs from ebay. Halfords wanted £27!

The mpg has gone down from 54.1 to 54, I reckon it’ll go down to about 45 odd. Time will tell as the overall mpg will be skewed a fair bit in about a month as I’ll be over to Bristol Airport and back  a few times and lots of longer journeys than normal.

Still loving the little Suzuki though.

The recharge time is a big issue also.

Ed, that map is inaccurate, at least in my area. There are at least 2 other charging points within 1/4 mile of the Renault dealership, both at other car franchises. Trouble is they run their own payment systems so you need multiple payment systems if you’re going to drive any kind of real distance. Also there are very few properties near me where you can plug a vehicle in safely. Most don’t have secure off road parking.

I can imagine the anger after having plugged your car in to charge on a street to find out that some drunk/kid/arse has unplugged it for the sake of it!
