Finally got another appointment to see a surgeon towards the end of next month. I’ll believe it when it happens.
I saw a program (possibly Scrum 5) where they had some rugby players at bounce under, they were like giant kids. All giggling and shoving each other. I was jealous.
Reviews. Both the batteries and the seller.
Brits are the best at being slightly mad. No other nation does it as well.
Some bloke did it in the USA many years ago, got into trouble with the FAA IIRC.
I honestly think that the tailgater was terrified of the weather. Didn’t know how to drive for the conditions and just stuck to my bumper. I slowed down to 20 mph on a 50 mph road at one time and he was the same distance away, booted it to 50 and he was still there. He only backed up just before he peeled off and went the other direction.
Cash rules in certain places, lots of local clubs don’t take cards because of the vast majority of members are over 60 and only use cash.
The jobbing builders only take cash. Same for some plumbers who work weekends off the books.
I agree about contactless and online payments though, can be very handy just to pay with a phone or PayPal.
Just got back from the airport run, that was terrifying.
Sheeting rain so visibility was next to nothing at times, bits of trees flying all over the place and the car feeling like it was going to take off.
Naturally I had some wucking fanker 2 in a ancient BMW 2″ from my rear bumper……..
It would have done Bob, yes. High tide was about 1/2 hour later, wouldn’t be at all surprised if the road in Penarth was closed, it can throw up a lot of debris and pebbles at times. The wind was also picking up.
By the time I’d got to St Mary’s Well Bay (about 4 miles odd from Penarth) the wind was shocking. Could barely open the car door and debris was starting to come onto the road. I wasn’t there long.
It’s bad here, really windy and heavy showers. Went out this morning just before high tide and it was quite scary.
Penarth was bad but it was far scarier at St Mary’s Well Bay
I’m waiting to a surgeon about my arthritic hip, no-one will give me a time frame. I saw my rheumatology consultant about a fortnight ago, all he can do is confirm I’m on the waiting list.
Where I am if you are given an appointment, you take it. I know people that have missed weddings, funerals and holidays just to be seen by someone.
Have you tried being without the painkillers? They can make things worse, talk to your GP first though. Pain killers do nothing for me unless they are epidural or strong enough to knock me out.
Amazon Fire TV (not the one due at the end of the month) is the easiest to tweak due to the USB slot , the Fire sticks are more of a learning curve if you want Kodi on there, not exactly difficult though. Alexa works very well through the remote or app on phone/tablet.
Edit. Looks like they are out of stock pretty much everywhere.
We’ve got really strong winds at the moment, due to get worse tomorrow and be at their peak in the evening-exactly when I’m on airport duties. ?
Have a good one John.
2 Sundays ago my fat bike died on me. The rear quick release skewer somehow got bent and because of the extra force skewed the wheel right over against the frame. The free hub also went with it. Which failed first I have no idea, all I know is they failed and the rear dropouts are now mangled, maybe 2mm of metal missing from each one. I’m not riding that frame again, not worth the risk.
To say I was annoyed is an understatement, it was the morning of the Cardiff half marathon and it happened on the road near the castle, which along with most of the other roads in the area, were closed. That meant no chance of getting a taxi to get home so I had to bodge it with the help of a very powerful bloke with a lump hammer who managed to bend the skewer straight enough so he could kick the wheel almost straight. No free hub meant no pedaling so I had to scoot the bike home, not fun with a ruined hip. Got home and I dragged the bike over the threshold and the rear wheel dropped out, the QR skewer had been lost somewhere on the way home.
I’m not spending out on another bike until I get to speak to a surgeon, which could be months or years so for now I’ve ordered a 16 tooth sprocket for my single speed and a new chain. It currently runs 46 up front and 14 in the rear, fast but damn hard work on hills. I’ll strip the fat bike of anything worthwhile and really bash the frame up before recycling it, just in case anyone has a bright idea of using it.
I’ve had more than my moneys worth from the bike, in all honesty it should have died about 3 months after I had it! I just wish it had died closer to home!!!!
Nice link Bob, thanks.
I’m a mere commoner even though my grandfather claimed a connection to Owain Ddantgwyn.
An easy claim to make for a Welsh person.
He did have a relative that was involved in the Meibion Glyndwr attacks in the late 70’s/early 80’s but he wouldn’t talk of him by name, that was a step too far even for him. He was referred to as ‘Y twll dyn twp’.
I’ve just put out the recycling and it’s gone cold here now.
The wind is really strong, I reckon some wheelie bins will get swept away.
Just cleaned about 3mm of dirt of my car, otherwise it’s warm and windy.
That is amazing.
Nice find. ?
