Bob, every single appointment letter I’ve had over the last 4 odd years for both Llandough and UHW have had on the bottom ‘Please bring a specimen of urine’. First time I took one with me and nobody asked for it so it was disposed off. Never bothered since and never been asked. The letters are pumped out automatically and no-one can be arsed to change the wording.
Good luck with the next investigation.
Just completed my order, 6 good beers for £3. They were doing a website upgrade, much quicker now.
With the Tesco online order if they send an alternative you can just refuse it. It goes back to the shop and you don’t get charged for that item. Need to keep an eye on the final price but I only had an issue once, quickly sorted.
Not as good a deal as the one I bagged but still good, same thing applies, redeem the offer.
That sucks about the case, I managed to crack the mounting points on my original SJ4000 case but that was a high speed run into a low branch. The case was still useable but I got a new one from ebay.
I never bothered with the app on my phone for the Drift Stealth 2 after playing around with it, it was hit and miss at best for control but downloading footage worked fine.
Set an Echo up for a friend of my mother and her fella, he’s not computer illiterate but it takes a while for things to sink in, never really used a computer much in work (it was all cash) and now almost 80.
The Echo just works, he can play the music he wants, get the weather forecast and so on without trying to find his Kindle Fire or go upstairs to the laptop.
Must have sold out, I managed to bag one just before I posted.
Or aren’t entitled to the full allowance due to the change in rules from DLA to PIP. Under the DLA rules I’d get the full amount, PIP I get standard mobility.
Not charged it for 3 days, still at 34%. Granted I’m not a massive user of screen time but I did hammer it when at the doctors and while waiting for the AA man.
Amazing battery, performance and the camera is superb, all the people posting bad comments about the camera either have no idea how to take a photo (I don’t have much) or haven’t updated the phone. I have seen rumors that the imported versions have more camera issues than the official UK ones, no idea if that’s true.
I’m in the same boat as Dave. No need for a monster spec machine anymore. All my gaming is now done on my Asus C302C via Android, either in tablet mode or laptop mode.
TBH I’d be boring and put the money away towards my next car in about 3 years time, hopefully the incoming Suzuki Swift Sport with the 1.4 turbo engine might just be within my range as a 2 odd year old example.
I pay for 100GB of Google drive, £1.59 a month. I’ve got 300GB in total because of Chromebook purchases (you get 100GB free for 2 years). For me that’s plenty.
I’d get a Fire Stick. If you have an Android device install the Fire TV app for easier typing. Way cheaper and designed to be on 24/7
Could be that the laser for the CDs is kaput. There are different lasers for CD and DVD.
January 12, 2018 at 8:41 pm in reply to: 5~30% CPU speed reduction to your Intel CPU forecast #15589The update is still going.
I know that the MS update counter is useless but it saying 36 hours to go.
Where’s that whisky I got for Christmas?
January 12, 2018 at 7:11 pm in reply to: 5~30% CPU speed reduction to your Intel CPU forecast #15585Just fired up my X220 for the first time this week, I’m sure you can all guess what happened. ?
M$ are currently installing a massive bandwidth hog, my cable BB speed has dropped by 60%, Netflix had a hiccup with the quality and quickly sorted that out. If none of the family were on Windoze I’d nuke the X220 and put Linux, probably Mint, on.
Used to drive a 53 plate KA, great fun. Not much power, 60 odd bhp IIRC but handled like a go kart.
No experience of it but I was looking at it earlier. The reviews are really good but we all know that Amazon reviews can be skewed.
Got home at 3. That included a quick 30 minute jaunt on a dual carriageway to charge the battery. The web page that the AA sent me a link to via SMS showed the driver due at 3, moments after I checked it the bloke was driving past in the opposite direction. Before he even started on the battery he gave the car a quick going over, checked the oil and other fluids and tyre pressures. Car started fine on the battery after a small boost and he confirmed it was in prime condition.
I guess if you’re going to need the AA being in a capital city helps, the bloke was in a small van, Transit Connect size, and said he mostly does the smaller jobs that take minutes. Also mentioning that you have a blue badge doesn’t hurt, the bloke confirmed that you get a higher priority in this area.
Really impressed with my experience today.
I’ll see if the AA are any good soon. Parked at the doctors in a disabled bay on a busy road so hauled myself out of the passenger door onto the pavement. Appointment done, get back in the car via the drivers door to the sound of the lights on warning. Balls, flat battery. Luckily I have full AA cover as part of the extended warranty I negotiated when I got the car. Seems that the lights on warning only works on the drivers door.
So far they have been polite on the phone but I shall see.
