Richard, I can only echo Bob’s good wishes.
Funnily enough the only thing I’ve ever been naturally good at was driving. No experience at all driving a car and at 18 decided to learn to get back to Cardiff on Sundays to skateboard and see my mates while avoiding the ridiculous delays and expense of the train system . 7 lessons (including the 2 for the test) and I passed first time, one minor for being a little close to parked vehicles.
For me independent living has always been a huge priority, I’m close enough to mum and her fella that should anything go wrong either end it’s not a big deal, but crucially they know not to come near my place without prior warning (except in an emergency).
Argos is superb near me, fast track orders are ready in seconds. The staff always offer to carry larger items that won’t fit in my rucksack to the car for me, a BIG help. Closest Tesco is shocking at click and collect orders, takes an age to find them in the storeroom. The one about 10 minutes further away (early in the morning) is much more efficient.
My main annoyance in films/series is mobile phone use. The screen always stays on when it’s held against the head (ambient light sensor anyone?), sensitive texts/messages/updates are always visible on the lockscreen, they can track someone to within a mm using their phone signal but can’t stop their phones making daft noises for no apparent reason-the ‘boop’ sound when answering a call for example.
I’ll leave it there for now.
The online tests I found came back as 74% likelihood, the questionnaires from the local Community Mental Health Team were different but essentially very similar, same horse different jockey springs to mind.
The test linked to above by richard uses some of the questions from various online tests I’ve seen so it looks like most of them are based on either one or a few core tests.
Bob, I’m not bothered either way, it would just explain a hell of a lot that has gone on in my past.
I honestly don’t care what others (apart from friends and family) think about me. I am what I am. Nuts to anyone that can’t deal with that. I’ve always been that way, being heavily involved in skateboarding and BMX from well over 35 years ago before they were mainstream like now suited me down to the ground.
This is all very fortuitous for me, I’m awaiting an appointment with a trick cyclist for an autism/aspergers assessment.
Only came up when a relative of my mother’s’ partner that works with special needs children of all types suggested that I have some typical signs. It would make a lot of sense.
Having done the screening multiple choice questionnaires I think it’s quite likely that I can put another ailment on my list, time will tell.
One way or another it should be a great match Saturday, both sides have confidence flowing.
Dave, it was only Italy!!?
Can’t argue about the French cheating, that was ridiculous. Nigel Owens had to go with the match doctor’s decision. I bet the match doctor has a nice new car/watch/lady friend tonight!
As for ‘Only Scotland’, I’ll wait and see how the English do away from home against them.
Honestly, I’m dreading next Saturday. Away against England. I’ll just have Max Boyce, Live At Treorchy on a loop.
I’m with Dave on this one, that would be my first port of call. If that doesn’t work, reboot all devices.
Thanks Bob.
Totally agree about the human scum, they should be denied treatment. That of course is a huge can of worms for health care professionals.
Thanks Richard.
Only major issue was parking, the disabled car park was full, as Tippon predicted, it was a case of waiting for a space, one car out, one car parked, took about 15 minutes to get a spot which wasn’t terrible but bad enough.
Just got back, traffic was nowhere near as bad as expected in both directions, thanks to some shortcuts I remembered and the live traffic info on Google Maps.
Also got seen quicker than I should have (3rd of 3, all the same procedure) because the bloke in front of me hadn’t had pain in his hip for months and didn’t bother telling anyone. The doctor told him many times he wasn’t having the procedure and he kept insisting on having it. It was only when a rather large male nurse turned up he changed his mind and went away.
Wait and see if it helps now.
Thanks for the heads up Ryan, didn’t even think about visiting hours.
Need to find a site plan I think.
Had a couple of the beers so far and they are superb.
The Broadside was a bit of a surprise, reminded me of bonfires for some reason, very pleasant though.
Fair play to Adnams for honouring the offer.
Thanks Richard.
The hospital tomorrow is the far side of town, last time it was done at the hospital 2 miles away from me and maybe 1/4 mile from mum’s house. Ample disabled parking close to the relevant department. Most of it is pretty new, the core is old but has been updated.
Tomorrow’s hospital (UHW, Heath, Cardiff) is a nightmare, Tippon will know it well, disabled parking is ample but a fair distance from the main hospital and x ray is another slog down the main corridor. I literally have no idea how long it’ll take me get to the x ray department as I fatigue quickly these days and need rests far more often than I like.
Different system here, the one linked to don’t do transport in my area. Only other option is booking an ambulance or a taxi. I don’t need an ambulance and don’t want to tie one up and don’t qualify for refund of the taxi fares, which would be £30 plus for both ways.
I’ll probably drive mum’s car over and she’ll have to drive back.
Thanks Bob.
Looked into that before but I can’t do ‘public’ transport (the mini buses always pick up as many people as possible, which I understand as they have to keep costs down), for long term reasons that were well established before the arthritis issue raised its head. It’s been 12 or more years since I’ve been able to use a bus or train.
My box just arrived, better late than never!
I’m looking forward to these.
Good news Bob, hope round 2 is the same outcome.
Have another short notice appointment, this time for another arthrogram,
That’s on friday afternoon, 3pm. The worst time possible, horrible to get to the hospital and horrible to get back and because of the anesthetic I can’t drive so that means mum is driving and she hates rush hour traffic.
