It’s remarkable he lasted as long as he did, many people with motor neuron disease die very young.

Still a great loss though, A Brief History Of Time is a book I’ve read many times and keep meaning to get a more recent version, mine is the original now out of date, one.

That was never going to work.

          What a total plum .

It’s just some bloke packaging freely available stuff under a brand and making it ‘easy’ for people to use.

I really wonder what the support is like, how many recent machines will ignore it due to UEFI/BIOS settings? I’m guessing a lot. Trying to talk someone through UEFI settings when they have no clue could really mess things up.

              I’ll take that win.

Not the best game but it was a mental game, again.

                Another mad day over.

Fair play to the French, they didn’t give in. England, well, some very nice play but way to sparse and loads of stupid errors.

If we beat Italy well tomorrow, and we should, we could jump into 2nd. I’m not taking anything for granted though.

Next weekend will be all about denying Ireland the Grand Slam and fighting for the other positions. Should be a great Saturday for rugby.

                  What Dave said.

Pondered doing it back in the days when £35 AMD CPUs were kicking Intel right in the man parts. Never got round to it though.

Take your time Bob. Family is way more important than nerds. Unless they are your family.

Had the dressing changed and it’s looking good, so the nurse says.

Have to have it changed every other day now which means going to the out of hours gp service on Sunday.

Also have a carrier bag full of dressings and other stuff, the chemist only had half of the prescription so I’ll get the rest tomorrow.

Thanks for that . Hoping the prescription includes a nice outer Hebrides scotch, I doubt that though!

Got back from seeing the nurse and it’s now been properly cleaned, packed and dressed. Have to go back tomorrow for a dressing change and get a prescription and ‘healing plan’.

The dressing is very similar to the ones linked to above by JCD, I have a few spares incase the one the nurse applied comes loose.

Apparently the wound is 2cm * 1.5cm by 2cm deep. The depth shocked me but apparently it’s not uncommon. So far I’ve dodged surgery (which is the usual route when they haven’t burst) but time will tell.

Nothing here but the forecast was for wind and rain, rain is blowing in and out.

Apparently up north is getting hammered again.

My Shield K1 is up for sale if anybody is interested, I did let Dave know but he’s out of the market for now.

It’s been in a Poetic case since day one, the case and screen saver have a few marks but that’s their job.

PM me if interested, no random noobs.

                                  Thanks for that.

Hopefully the nurse will sort me out with stuff but the local Boots has them in stock so that’s always an option.

One of my regular routes takes my through St Andrews Major and the lanes are flanked by hedges about 8 ft tall, maybe more.  The snow drifts in the lanes were about 6ft tall and it was clear that a JCB or something had just cleared the snow away enough for a single vehicle to pass.

                                      Thanks Richard.

I’ve just got back from the surgery as trying to get through on the phone was impossible. No nurse there today as she is still snowed in. I know she lives in the valleys somewhere so that’s not impossible.

Soonest I can be seen is Thursday so that’s been booked. If they have a cancellation I’m first in line. Managed to have a very quick chat with one of the doctors and they are happy with what I’ve been doing to keep it clean and so on that’s something at least.

                                          Smart move.

I reckon you’ll love it. Might seem a bit big to start with but it soon becomes normal. I’d order a case for it asap. The included one works fine but is a bit flimsy.

I’m still on the included screen protector, a few marks on it but it only bothers me because I know they are there, nobody else can even see them. TBH I forget after a while.
