JCD, thanks, there is a place almost literally around the corner from me that is on the list at the bottom of the article, I’ll go and have a word with them today.

        Thanks Ed.

There’s a place very near that has very good feedback from one of the people I used to do a bit of IT type stuff for. He deals in cars, some very high end now.

Anybody else that wants to chip in, please do .

My cars air con seems to be a bit feeble, the air is cool rather than cold, even when turned to the lowest setting. I was very warm today even in a t-shirt. I suspect it needs a service/regas. It was much colder when I got it.

There are a few places nearby that are ‘specialists’ but I just wonder if anyone has any experience of having this kind of job done. I know you can buy the canisters and DIY it but I think it’d render me useless for a day or two to even try it.

            PC or Android?

Android I’m playing Real Drift. Used to play it a while back but forgot about it. You can literally play a track at a time, 3 minutes or so per race. Perfect for waiting rooms at hospitals/doctors.

PC I’ve not gamed on for years, apart from DiRT on my X220.

Richard, totally agree with you about the position of the touchscreen in the new Fiesta being a good thing for some people. It was in an ergonomic position for the vast majority of people (I’m guessing) but for me it was just wrong. Looked and felt awkward.

I totally understand why some people are over the driving for fun aspect of motoring, so many terrible drivers on the roads it’s a miracle there aren’t many more serious accidents. Like the pillock I encountered this morning, ancient white Transit belching smoke and doing 45 mph in the middle lane of a 3 lane stretch on the M4. I honestly thought it was on fire, judging by the flashing lights and horns blaring of other motorists I reckon lots of them thought so as well.

I’m not not at the point where I need a taller car to help getting in and out of, anything more than a couple of inches lower than my Swift would be an issue though, say a TT or something.

Had a sit in the new Fiesta the other day, not a fan of the way the touch screen looks like an afterthought and the back is cramped and claustrophobic. Supposedly it’s a very good drive though.

Still after a new generation Swift, the SZ-T is near as makes no difference as fast as the 140 new Fiesta, despite having about 28 ps and 20 NM less to play with. It’s very light, the Fiesta isn’t.

Steve, the engine to have in the VW group is the 1.5 TSi. Very clever 4 cylinder that switches to 2 cylinder when cruising.

The 1 litre  is meant to be very good though.

Seat have always had good cars, some great. My brother has had loads of them and mum had a couple. The Leon you might find a bit harsh over bumps, especially in FR trim.

This long weekend I did 469 miles. That was up until 10am this morning when I got back from the early morning airport run. That’s about 2-3 weeks worth of normal mileage, sometimes more.

Friday afternoon it took 2 hours and 45 minutes to get to the airport and 2 hours 15 to get back with no stops. This morning it took 2 hours 55 to get there and back with one quick stop for a ‘comfort break’.

Glympse is not needed anymore, you can location share direct from Google maps. It’s under (strangely enough) location sharing on the left hand menu. Time period is selectable from a few minutes to until switched off.

John, it’s never going to be as good as a well handled blade with the proper lubricant, foam or balm, whatever.

I’ve used powered shavers for about 30 years. I’d have many more scars if I didn’t.

You’re skin will get used to it. Might take a while though.

Had to update my mileage allowance yesterday, not far of my estimated mileage for the year and 4 months still to go, probably rack up close to 500 miles this easter weekend so needed doing. Extra 2000 miles for just over £20. £19.50 was admin. ?

Lots of unexpected hospital/doctor visits pushed my mileage up by a lot, sometimes 1 or 2 hundred extra a week. Fair play to Admiral, first year of my own insurance for a long time, I was expecting a quote of £100 or more.

Saw the nurse this afternoon, no need to go back until tuesday unless anything else happens.

Tuesday is just to make sure it’s healed properly and possibly do a minor trim of any excess skin.

Just glad I won’t lose any time with my brother and his kids this long weekend.

All my viewing is done online. Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, iPlayer and so on.

Just trialling Sky Sports Mobile TV, free for 30 days. I only watch rugby so the basic package works for me, best bit is it’s a monthly subscription only. Having a 6″ phone helps a lot, the supported devices is a bit sparse though. My OnePlus 5T only got supported recently.

I’ve not had a landline for a very long time, easily 15 years. Mobile only.

The benefit of living in Virgin cabled areas despite 3 different addresses.

Had a call about an hour ago from an unknown Cardiff number, ignored it. No Message left. Quick search and it turned to be the automated appointment confirmation number for one of the hospitals I have to visit quite often. Number has changed since my last appointment ? It’ll call back within a day.

Truecaller hates my OnePlus 5T, keeps crashing so is now removed.

I have my car taken care of at a place nearby. Been going there for years on and off. Until mum got newer cars used to take hers there as well. Not the cheapest place but I’ve never had a reason to complain yet. If I had a major issue with them I could hobble there, it would ruin me for a few days and take about an hour but at least they know I can get there.

Tippon and maybe Mr Rice will possibly know the place, directly opposite the Grangetown train station entrance /exit.

At the moment it looks like it’s just going to get a bit colder and a very slight chance of sleet here. I hope that’s the case, Good Friday I’m off to Bristol Airport and back over on Easter Monday. Bothe trips are going to be a nightmare due to the times so bad weather will just make everything worse.
