My little Dell 3050 is yet to have it, must drag out my X220 and see what the score is there.

I’m not quite ready to buy yet, hopefully not long though.

I find that the car dealers around me are quite keen to sell at the moment, that always helps. They have pre-reg cars that have been sitting for a while.

When mum got her Captur the salesman was desperate to make the deal but claimed he couldn’t move on the price any further than he had.  So I held out for a proper spare wheel, an alloy, mats and paint protection. He robbed the mats and alloy from a brand new Captur. We were walking away when he finally caved in. ?

Just been to SEAT to look at the new Ibiza, looks great but the interior quality feels cheaper than my current Swift and the SE spec is mean, 5″ screen and no parking aids of any kind. The new Swift is far better specced and the interior quality is better and it’s a lot brighter in the cabin, it’s no Audi but it’s not trying to be. The Ibiza in SE spec was disappointing,FR is better but still no parking aids and it costs a lot more. Feels tom that VAG but the brakes on a better interior to preserve sales of the new Polo/A1.

I played some games with the salesman and managed to get a p/x offer of £3.3k for my car, slap bang in the middle of the book value. Will go and see Suzuki later in the week and see what they offer, they have Swift SZ-T that’s been there a while with under 3.5k miles on it.

I’m with Steve on the online banking, I can check in seconds how much £ I have, or not.

Couple that with Google Pay and it’s very detailed info of your spends (time and place) and it’s so easy to keep tabs on your finances.

As an aside I switched from NatWest to First Direct around November last year, £125 paid into my account within 3 months. ?

It used to be the case that if you got stuck in one of the awful phone menu systems that don’t work well, just do nothing. Eventually the system would throw you to an actual person. Now you get cut off. ?

Just hope you all get the help you need.

                  Richard, thanks.

Some of the scratches are to deep to be filled by an amateur. Removal of the white paint has helped a lot. Most importantly the dash hasn’t rattled today, after I gave it a good shove in the passenger footwell. The noise was driving me insane

After looking at the damage with a calm head it’s not worth repairing it. It looks terrible to me but my mum and one of her neighbours could hardly see the damage. I had to point all the marks out in detail. I guess that’s the autism.

I’m trying to look at it this way:- better for it to happen to an older car than a very nearly new one, which is potentially closer than I thought.

                      Feldschlobchen

It’s brewed in France but follows the German Purity Law. The 4 packs of cans are cheaper, £3.08.

JCD, I was about 7 spaces into a long line of disabled parking bays, there must be about 20, if not more

I was parked in a disabled space, which as I’m sure you know are huge, so if it did happen there the driver shouldn’t be on the road.

I’ve managed to get most of the paint off but some of the scratches are deep enough to catch a finger nail in, that means £.

It’ll probably set my new car plan back by about a month or two, fecking barsteward.

                          Edit.

Forgot to say thanks to Steve.

Just been cleaning my car and some scumbag has grazed my door and wing, pushing the wing in a bit. There are marks on the door and wing, not terrible but bloody annoying. The dash has also started rattling but I tweaked it a bit and clicked so hopefully that’s sorted. In the photo below if you look by the headlight at the joint you can see the gap that’s opened up by the wheel arch.

Really annoyed that some git did this and didn’t  bother to own up to it. The idiot driver must have felt it. I think it happened when I was at ASDA in Barry so I’ll call there tomorrow and see if they can/will help.

Just got back from the trick cyclist and within 30 minutes he’d diagnosed me with Autism/Aspergers. The final diagnosis will take a little while longer as they go over my past, the questionnaires and the notes taken today. He was amazed that with all the professionals I’ve seen over the years no-one had had any inkling. ?

The reason for putting it in this topic is when he was going over my medication/ailments he asked why I wasn’t taking pain killers for the arthritis and when I explained that they don’t work he mentioned that autistic people have a 30% higher chance of certain medications not working or having side effects.   That makes a lot of sense.

Waiting to see a trick cyclist, outside in the car park. Impressed with the speed.

If you’re seriously thinking about a fun car, a Swift Sport would have my money, the new one is due in June, for to much £.

Honestly, if I had the £ and space I’d bag a well looked after 2015/16 Sat Nav one for around £10K. It will be worth a LOT in about 10 years, last of the naturally aspirated warm/hot hatches. I’m seriously contemplating one instead of the new model SZ-T spec but I need reliability above fun.

My 126 was a ‘modern’ one, F reg IIRC. Flying solo it would hit about 70 mph with a fair wind.  Noisy though.  Furthest I took it was St Albans from Cardiff, that took a LONG time.

I’m not ready for a ‘crossover’ yet, maybe in a few years when my hip still hasn’t been operated on. ?

Fiat 126 is possibly the best multi storey car park car in history. Tight spot, just bounce it in. 30 mph in a multi storey is a right laugh, not so for the passengers. ?

Thanks Ed, I have to take a folic acid pill 3 times a week, starting on Thursday. My methotrexate is taken on Tuesday. Not sure why it’s important to leave it that long but allegedly it is.

Finally, all clear on the arse wound. I have an ‘open appointment’ with the nurse for the next month, in other words if something goes wrong with it, get in touch with her and she’ll see me the same day.

Interestingly the nurse said not to bother trying to make an appointment through reception or online as it won’t be the same day, instead I was to ask reception for a call back from the nurse and then she’d sort it herself.   Apparently the nurse can override the appointment making computer system they have.

The cameras I have at my mothers all work the way Ed has described irrespective of OS. As long as the browser is recent it just works.
