Always liked the Deus Ex games, you can run around blowing sh*t up, go all stealthily and quiet or a bit of both.
Until mum got Netflix and Amazon Prime I used an old ssd in an enclosure hooked up to mums TV so she could record stuff from her Samsung TV.
Before you buy anything do some googling, not all HDD’s play nice with all TV’s, same goes for flash drives.
The space inside the 500 is deceptive, as is the overall size. They are bigger than they look, only about 10″ shorter than my new Swift and 4″ odd narrower. Being a 3 door the seats slide forward to ease access to the rear but you need at least a Lounge spec to get the memory function so they return to the original position.
The salesman was a large bloke, maybe 6′ tall and at least 15 stone. He got in and out of the back with no problems. With my knackered hip I have to reverse out of the back on the passenger side so my left leg hits the ground first.
Regarding the scrappage scheme, the local Ford dealer offers upto £6.5k but that would be on a big, high spec motor. The offers vary massively.
Good luck Dave, should be a nice earner!!!
I’ve had a look and I’m torn between a few, well lots. The kind of thing I’ll never make my mind up about. No good to you, sorry about that.
Just have a red in there somewhere. ?
Just had a test drive of yet another car on mum’s behalf. A Fiat 500. Not my kind of car but a decent enough little thing, dead easy to drive when you stop reaching down for the gear lever and reach up a little, feels odd to start with but makes sense after about 10 minutes. Even the 1.2l is quite nippy, about 12.5 seconds to 62 so roughly the same as my old Swift. More space inside than it looks. Boot is small though, can just about fit a normal suitcase in and that’s about it.
So mum has bought it. She’s always wanted one and the deal was superb. Under 20 miles on it (after the test drive), registered in April this year and a Collezione trim level. £2500 and her 3 year old Captur with a slightly dented/cracked rear bumper.
Cleaned the wheels today with some of this stuff.
I’ve never seen wheels so clean, not even on a showroom car. The difference is almost unbelievable.
Almost no effort required, just a little poking and scrubbing on the more ingrained stuff. Did all 4 wheels and used less than 1/2 the bottle. I’m sure on really dirty wheels more effort would be needed, maybe even 2 applications. If you’re selling/ part exchanging a car it could make a few hundreds of £ difference.
Steve, yes it was all polished and waxed.
I have a spray bootle of the shampoo solution made up for quick cleans, worked well on my old Swift and it’s even better on this one now. I have about 14 microfiber cloths, always keep a couple in the car along with some window cleaner.
Finally finished claying and waxing the car, took about 6-7 hours in total. I reckon a non-knackered person could do it in about 1/2 of that. Totally worth the effort though, the finish is superb and dirt just wipes off so easily.
Yep, awesome effort from that bloke. Restores some hope for humanity.
It’s passing me, allegedly. Might get a rumble or 2 but not much.
I got my VED refund for the old Swift today, wasn’t expecting it anywhere near that quickly. A whole £5.
I treated the interior last night with this stuff. I was glad I had a respirator as it stinks and with my asthma it can trigger an attack. Left it an hour or so and did another sweep. Left it 14 hours before I went in the car and it still smelt a bit but not enough to be annoying. That quickly faded to a ‘new car’ smell with an hours drive with both front windows open a bit. It’s amazing stuff, well worth the money and hassle to apply.
Also managed to clay and wax the passenger side and back today. Only the drivers side and front to do now. Hardly used any of the supplies I bought, which is nice as mum is now dropping hints about getting her car done. ?
That’s a shame Ryan, luckily the 5T just works.
The voice recognition in the car is even better than than on my phone, how I’m not sure but it is. The only thing that seems to confuse it a bit is lots of ripples in the road. I just wait for them to pass then try it again.
Been trying out Waze today on Android Auto, it’s very good.
Had a few flaky connections so I tried a different cable, no issues since. I suspect the one I was using wasn’t up to handling the data required or maybe just a bit cheaply made.
The way that messaging works is brilliant, Hangouts in my case. You get a notification, if you want to hear it you just tap it and it’s read out to you with the option to reply. Speak your reply and it reads it back to you and then you can send it. Apart from tapping the notification there’s no need to touch anything else. Very impressive.
£22.46 now with code MYMEM. Also makes the 240gb version £44.99
I started watching Midnight Express on Netflix, via my little Dell 3050, it was stuttering, glitching and so on. Paused it, went and did some boring stuff like washing all the kit I’d used to treat my car, came back and all was well with a little box saying update finished.
Maybe an hour and 20, it’s a low spec rig.
Had my appointment with the Wellbeing lady today, very clever, knew her stuff and asked if I could come back in a couple of weeks so she could explore stuff better. I’m an awkward barsteward, autism, chronic pain syndrome and arthritis for a start.
Didn’t hurt that she was very pretty. ?
