Today I checked the fluids in my little Swift and then took her on a nice sedate B road blast, it was very wet and the puddles can be 6″ deep in the lanes.
One corner is about 70 degrees, totally blind. As usual I slowed to about 10 MPH, leaned on the horn and flashed my lights as I crawled around. I was met by a Hummer H1. It looked like someone had put my house in the lane. A Range Rover is tiny compared to one, my car looked like a Dinky toy next to a Tonka Truck.
Only option was to reverse, about 15 cars behind the Hummer. There’s a cattery/ kennel about a 1/2 mile back so I aimed for that little drive way, otherwise it’d be about 3 miles of reversing. No passing point big enough for that monster and my car.
There’s another blind corner before the cattery/ kennel, maybe another 1/2 mile back so I ‘advised’ the passenger of the H1 to move down towards that way carefully, shouting and waving bright things. It’s a national speed limit area.
In the end I made it to kennel/ cattery, turned back the way I’d come and parked across the access road to the lane, which is opposite a school. OFC I was abused a lot, and I was on the phone to the Police at the time, via Android Auto.
Not a good afternoon.
The first SD card I bought was for my Pocket Pc, 32MB. Cost £60.
You can get a useable laptop for that on ebay now.
September 19, 2018 at 11:53 am in reply to: What does anyone think of a Lenovo X200s notebook #26083I have an i5 X220 with 8GB RAM and a 240GB SSD, great machine.
If the one you’re looking at doesn’t have an SSD that would be a cheap upgrade, there’s a thread here.
Lots of them knocking about so getting one for a good price shouldn’t be too difficult.
BL, I’m jealous. I reckon I was born about 10-15 years too late, music taste wise.
Some of the shite that my extended family listen to really confuses me, it’s just mumbling noise or shouting and being obnoxious.
My brother has over 20,000 hours logged on Spotify, his taste is still terrible!
After another dream I’ve bought The Best Of The Specials, this time it was a recollection of a night that actually happened, my mates birthday and 15th anniversary with his mrs.
Both are fans of two tone/ska so lots of that was played.
Friggin dreams, costing me money!
Sorry Ed, missed your post. ?.
Knowing my luck it will be a syndrome. I have chronic pain syndrome, which I was told by the medical assistant to the consultant that diagnosed me with it basically ment ‘We can see your suffering but I’m f**cked if I know what’s causing it’. Essentially the same as your description above.
Now had the bumf and I’m going to try for the throat spray, I don’t do well with sedatives. Also bought some ear plugs as I’ve been informed by someone that had the procedure done not long ago that the suction machine can be loud. I hate noise, apart from engine noise.
Finished the book a few days back, it makes a lot of sense to me and I look forward to the developments discussed in it. Well worth a read if that’s your thing.
Looks like you had a nice day wandering around.
Happy Birthday
A general election is pointless. The PM doesn’t have any real power, it’s the longstanding civil servants that do.
They will let a a few things slip through, to keep the PM happy, and get what they really want. As JCD mentioned above in his negotiation post.
The PM, POTUS, et all are just symbols of an alleged democracy. That’s it.
Odd.
When I made a test buy when making my last post it wouldn’t work in either format.
Ah well, as long as it worked, that’s the main thing.
I copied it into the checkout as it is in my post, worked for me. That was a couple of minutes after my post.
Looks like it’s been expired.
Dave, use code id5mm to get it for £18.99. Silly money.
Thanks Ed.
I’m awaiting a leaflet with further information about options and what I need to do beforehand.
Thanks Richard.
Now have an appointment for a Gastroscopy
Not looking forward to that at all.?
At least it’s not going up the other end!!!?
Steve, my ASUS Chromebook is supported, via Android. What device are you on? P20 Pro?
No idea if it would be viable Dave but a Chromebook with Android support might be an option for future jobs. I use mine or my phone for 90%, maybe more, of my uses. My X220 will be used more soon as I’ve been asked to make a few DVD’s of family events and so on.
Gtech are good vacuums, about a year ago my mum and I bought a bundle of the Air Ram 2 and the Multi, the upright for mum and the hand portable for me. Saved about £100 IIRC. Not cheap but very good. Mum also has a Henry for heavier duty cleaning, it’s ancient and just keeps going.
Bob, I hope so.
Brother and his kids are visiting in November, as long as I’m sorted by then I can cope.
