Haven’t got any with me at home but if you can hang on a few days I’ll get some done on Sunday for Monday.

£1 each in Asda. Not tried Yardbird before, looking forward to it. They also have Bishops Finger and a couple of others for £1.

Sad to say I’m not surprised.

He would probably have done a good job, can’t have that. No reason for budget overspend and lining pockets.

The Skoda Yeti has removable rear seats, They’ve been around for a while so some should be available quite reasonable. If well looked after they just keep on going.

Still have a soft spot for them.

Nice one, might go down that route.

TBH I’m ruined today, last thing I wanted to do was assemble and set up a TV. A promise is a promise so until I can’t, I will.

Just realized that my LITEON external DVD for my X220 has a function called Link2TV, means you can hook it up to the USB port of a TV. I’ll try that on Sunday and if that works I’ll get one, cost me £20 odd.

Only tried Freeview Play very quickly, need to spend more time on that so I can show mum how it works. By then I was sore and exhausted.

Set the TV up earlier and it was a doddle. Stand went on in a few minutes, wifi setup and scanning for freeview channels all stupidly easy. Updated Netflix and Amazon Prime, signed in to both accounts with no issues. Also installed YouTube and set my phone up as a remote which works very well.

It’s pretty fast, way faster than the Fire TV box. Yet to try USB playback or recording but I’ll probably do that on Sunday. Dedicated Netflix and Amazon Prime buttons on the remote is a nice touch. The tuner detected a ton of TV and radio stations, way more than the clunky You View box found but at some stage the ariel is getting replaced with a new one it’s very old.

There is now a DVD player, Chrome Cast, Fire TV and You View box in the gadget draw, plus a massive bezeled 40″ Sony getting in the way.

At some stage I’ll set up the favourite channels tweak the screen settings a bit, it’s fine for me out of the box but mum likes things bright. It’s on Vivid now and so far that’s been bright enough.

Well worth the money IMO, all that needs to be bought at some stage is either a HDMI or USB DVD player or a Blue-Ray drive.

Big and cheap usually means a French salon or estate. They depreciate massively in the first 3 years.  Lots of ex-company cars as well, usually huge miles but perfect maintenance records. Watch out for diesels, new MOT regs mean loads of them are going to fail due to showing visible smoke. If you go for a diesel it needs at least 11 months MOT, if not a fresh one. If the seller won’t do  a fresh one, ask why.

Octavia or a Superb would be my choice, don’t go for as much as they should and great cars, Mondeo is always an option as there are billions of them.

Insurance isn’t just down to age/experience/ insurance group. It’s far more complex these days. Try getting some quotes with an older relative with a good driving history included. Under 70 though. The difference for me with my mother on was £150 less on my original 2012 Swift, £220 less on my current 2017 Swift. My 2017 Swift has a high insurance group compared to something like a Fiesta because it’s allegedly quite expensive to fix, thing is it’s also difficult to break. They bounce well.

You’ll just have to see what works for you and don’t forget to try the cashback sites , can be a nice lump on offer.

                            Tin foil hat time again!!!.

If my hands stop hurting long enough I’ll make designer ones. Oh, no need for my hands to work, I’ll just get a few zero hour workers from Sports Direct, just need a pick up so I can wait outside and herd them in, waving a fiver.

                              Stevie, thanks for that.

Next consultant appointment is almost exactly 6 months time, which should give enough time for everything to settle. That’s amazing in itself, they are usually 9 months + because of the lack of consultants.

                              Glad it’s working for you.

Dunkel Fester is lovely. Aldi usually get a load in for Halloween and they usually have loads left so they ship them out cheap. Last year I bought about 40 bottles for £20, the manger wanted shot of them so did me a deal if I took them all. ?

I’ve now seen the consultant rheumatologist and after much poking and prodding and discussion he’s agreed to switch me to the injection form of methotrexate. I wanted to try something else but he explained his hands are tied due to cost, methotrexate is relatively cheap in oral form, more expensive in injection form and the other drugs are much more expensive so they try the cheapest and work their way through until they admit you need the more expensive stuff.   I should have an appointment with the rheumatology nurses to explain it all and show me what to do ‘urgently’.

The consultant also confirmed that I do have arthritis in my hands and other joints, he said that some of my joints showed significant wear and he could feel nodules on some of my finger joints.

Been over to mum’s to check a few things about a new tv. Measured the screen size of their Bravia and it’s a 40″ screen, looks like a 47″ from a distance as the bezel is HUGE.

Mum has now ordered this one, from John Lewis at the same price as the Richer Sounds site wouldn’t take payment. It arrives Monday afternoon so I’ll get the ‘pleasure’ of setting it all up at some stage.

Sorry Dave, I didn’t mean get rid of the Fire TV, just retire it while the TV does everything needed.

It would go in the ‘drawer of tech’ in their garage until it was needed again.

                                            Thanks both.

Ed, the more I read and learn about autism, inflammation and stomach issues the more I’m amazed that they are all treated as separate issues. I’m glad that there are people out there trying to change the status quo.

The methotrexate I take is meant to subdue inflammation but it clearly doesn’t in me. The GP was very puzzled by that.
