When my brother lived in London, Wimbledon way, it often took longer to get across London by car than to get to London. If I was in a larger car (I was driving a proper Mini Cooper at the time) it would have taken a lot longer.
It was bad enough getting there, the fuel tank was the size of a small jerry can in the boot, usually 3 fill ups on the motorway and one just before hitting London, sometimes one in London as well.
Great news Bob!
Keep rocking .
Today I had another field trip, this time to the Arms Park to see if it was practical/ sensible for me to go and watch the Cardiff Blues in the future.
It was all arranged by autism support worker and she met me there. I’m amazed how helpful they were. Rhiannon, the woman that showed us around and answered many questions, was superb. It seems that the best option for me would be at the River Taff end, a selection of first floor enclosed boxes wich cost no more than anywhere else as they are for the disabled. They also have balconies if you want to get some fresh air.
Parking was also addressed, disabled spots can be reserved in advance in the Arms Park but you have to be in at least 90 minutes before the game and are the last to leave. If I have a panic attack or feel uncomfortable that’s no good. Rhiannon mentioned that there is parking next door at the Principality Stadium (Millennium Stadium to me) but it’s not available for all games, they need 10 minutes notice at most to let a car out. It means a longer walk, sorry, hobble, but I reckon it’s worth it.
Just need to find a game that’s not going to be super busy but good and fits with my issues.
Almost forgot, carer/helper gets a free ticket!!!
First time I saw a gaming PC was at a mates house when he was in uni, his parents gave him the £ for a PC for uni work. It only ever played Doom for about a year. That game nearly cost him his degree. ?
Many an hour spent in his house after a night at the uni bar trying to progress in Doom and getting nowhere. ?
I’m waiting for FLIR on a mobile, built in, not some clunky, crappy 3rd party add on.
The FLIR module for Android (and iOs) is £216. Battery life of an hour is the downside. When they get to £100 odd I might bite.
Good news Richard, may it keep on coming!
Richard, I doubt the DWP have ever realised anything!!!
I suspect that the evidence was so strong in my favour that it was a quick rubber stamp to get onto the next case which might be weaker.
Thanks Bob.
I’ve been saving like mad to get enough money to keep my car going for a year so that’s a nice little sum in my savings now.
Thanks JCD, it really was a nice surprise.
Just had a P.I.P. decision.
Amazingly, nothing changes. I was expecting a fight for upto a year. Huge relief.
One less thing to worry about, well, until the rules get changed again.
Not everyone realises how tiring illness and recovery can be.
Ain’t that the truth!
I get knackered doing nothing (almost) due to the arthritis and the fatigue that goes with it. The fatigue is, IMO, worse than the pain. I can cope with pain very well but fatigue I’m not used too.
Ed, custard factories also go up fairly often.
Way back when, I also knew a school chum and we dabbled in such delights with things that went bang. I did not see him for a while and when I called round to find out what he was doing, his elder brother called me aside. It appears that he had been mixing a batch of one of his brews when he ground things a bit too hard. it caught fire in the bowl and expelled the burning mixture into his face.
One of my teachers did that, very nearly lost an eye but she had the proper safety gear on and a shard of beaker got stuck in her visor about 1mm from her eye. No visor and it would have been very messy.
Sorry to hear that.
Hope it works.
Damn, that looks like a website from 1995!
The info seems good though so looks they spend more time on rockets than site design!!!
Not really surprising, it’s just another form of currency with nothing to back it up, like most currency these days. Long gone are the days of gold (or silver) being used to back currency.
More reading on Fiat money, which like the USD the GBP is now.
I’ve not done it myself but when I lived in Ely the model plane club that used the old racecourse had a few members that also did rocketry. Some of their models were huge, 6ft or more and very impressive to watch going up.
I’m pretty certain that they had to get permission for the larger rockets as they went very high and could do some serious damage to a small plane, or a big one for that matter.
Thanks Bob.
It’s truly a superb place for history fans.
Bob, I had a massive ganglion on my right elbow for about 6 months after the fracture healed, it was drained every 3-4 weeks.
One morning when it was due to be drained it wasn’t there anymore.
Today I went to St Illtud’s church to see the stones. Amazing things. .pdf about the stones
The church isn’t bad either.
Very nice elderly woman showed us around and really knew the history of the stones and the church, ridiculous amount of history there. Best bit was there was no attempt to push religion on you, some churches I’ve been to they almost want you to convert before they tell you anything.
Well worth an hour or 2 if you’re ever in the area.
Quite a few 360 photos so best viewed on a touch screen device where you can drag it around with your finger, works with a cursor but it’s bit awkward.
