Yes Dave, that should be a very interesting tournament.
In all honesty Wales have played mediocre until today, the first match that they have played 80+ minutes of rugby.
Apparently there’s no cash in any of the ATM’s in the area around the ground already. That usually takes an hour or 2 after a win.
To quote Max Boyce, “the air was filled with singing and I heard a grown man cry,
Not because we’d won but because the pubs ran dry”That’s unlikely but possible.
Have Scotland actually turned up at Twickers?
Good luck.
I’m no love guru, had my moments but that’s it.
Used to live in Newport, 20 odd years ago and the nightlife was amazing. Some friends I have that still live there inform me that’s it’s still awesome.
Sadly TJ’s is no more, a truly amazing place with very heavy hitting bands playing there.
Le Pub hadn’t been going long when I moved there, apparently still as good as it was way back then.

I believe Bob is also a fan.
No problem matey.
Good luck with all the other stuff. ?
Great news Bob!
Keep battling away.
Smart move
Had some time with it today and the phone app is actually very good. I can see some circumstances when it it would be easier to use the app than the touch screen or physical controls on the camera.
For quick opportunistic shots I’m still using my phone, that’s because I’m on crutches still and have to stop and get the TZ-90 out of my rucksack. With my phone it’s a one handed operation to grab it from my pocket and double tap the down volume button. For most people who keep it in a pocket and aren’t reliant on crutches I don’t think there’d be much in it.
I’d read reports of lag during startup but that was for the 70 and 80, there is almost no delay between pushing the power button and being ready to shoot. Less than a second IMO.
The more I use it the happier I am with it.
Dumb question but all the connections have been checked?
The extra power to the mobo from the PSU in particular, if it needs it.
I took some photos today just after I put the tz90 away, the Mate 20 Pro is way quicker for spontaneous shots, especially when the double tap on the volume down button to take an instant photo option is in place. And it is instant, as far as I can tell.
Result Bob!
Thanks for help all. Chuffed with it.
Dave, nice panoramas. With my Mate 20 Pro, until recently, I’d just take some shots and let google stitch them together. Now I have a tripod I use the mode in the camera app.
Got a case from PC World and it fits nicely, a bit tall but it’s no big deal. The front pocket will also come in handy.
I’ve had a play and I’m blown away. I managed to get the pier at (I believe) Weston Super Mare, never been there so don’t know, the wind farm at Avonmouth (again, not 100% sure) and the Second Severn Crossing, all from Penarth sea front. Also got some nice ones of Flat Holm island with the great big fog horns and light house clearly visible.
Really glad I spent the little bit extra for TZ90, this, my Mate 20 Pro and LG 360 Cam have me covered for pretty much everything now.
Well worth the money and as I get used to it the shots should get better. The phone app feels a little clunky for now, that might just be me getting used to it. The screen being able to rotate up is very handy.
Just need to find my 64GB sd cards now, can’t remember when I last saw them. ???
BL, the extra batteries and charger are on the ‘in the future’ list.
Trying to find a case locally is a pain, might have to brave PC World. ?
I went for a black TZ90, slightly damaged box in store for £280, the only one they had in stock.
More than I wanted to pay but I’m happy with the price, the in store price was £299, apparently going back up to £319 today.
For the first time in years I might have to RTFM!
I’ll report back after a play with it, it’s charging now.
The price on the one I linked to has jumped back to £280, Jessops will be visited tomorrow morning.
Some great advice so far, thanks all.
Dave, I looked at the TZ80 just after I posted my reply to you. It looks good. I might go and bug Jessops tomorrow morning.
Ryan, good point about the hands. I keep forgetting how bad my hands get at times, frickin arthritis.
In all honesty I’d probably stick with the supplied lens on the one I posted 90% of the time.
Thanks again all, anymore input is welcome.
The one that Dave posted is not what I’m after, I want 4K video recording and a touchscreen. It looks great if you can live without those.
After PM was diagnosed I mentioned it in a conversation with my wife and my mother as I’d only really heard of people being diagnosed when they were young (not that Nolan’s old
). Without hesitating my mother said that she’s wondered for a while whether I’m on the spectrum, and Ellen agreed. She worked in a school for years, so saw what it was like when people started recognising autism and diagnosing it properly, rather than just labelling the kids as naughty or sending them away to other schools. I’d finished school before any proper understanding came in, so missed that boat. I keep forgetting to ask my mother why she didn’t mention it before now.
Ryan, see the GP about it. Get an assessment arranged. At least you’ll know one way or the other.
I’ve had (and I still am receiving) some amazing help from the Integrated Autism Service in Penarth. For the first time in over 2 decades I can see a slight change in my mental health and mum keeps saying that I’m getting better. It’s going to take years but it’s finally going in the right direction.
Thanks Dave I’ll check it out.
That’s terrible.
Some of the houses in my cul de sac are social housing and the contractors they employ are total merchant bankers.
About 3 weeks ago I had an appointment and was totally blocked in by one of the contractors vans. No-one in it. Completely blocking the cul de sac.
I phoned the hospital from the car to let them know I might be late and then rang the contractors head office, all via Android Auto. Van moved in minutes. Bloke who got in thought I couldn’t hear him swearing at me, idiot. Another phone call to head office.
I now have names of fairly high up people at all of the housing associations in my area, most contractors now know not to piss me off!
