Thanks for the info and offer Dave.

      Much appreciated.

I’ll look into it again when my bank account has recovered but it certainly seems that cloud storage is the way for me.

        Sorry Dave.

I didn’t see your first post.

Anyway, it’s on hold for a while anyway.

Just found out my brother is visiting next week. First time for over 2 years!

          I don’t have a router.

No fixed line broadband here. It’s all done through my phones hotspot over 5G.

            Thanks Ed.

            That’s a good point.

Seems like I may have forgotten the old mantra Keep It Simple Stupid.

A external WiFi SSD seems to be what I’m after. That way I can just stick it the corner of the room and ignore it.

All my devices are portables, only my Chromebox is left in place and that’s only used for the odd streaming service that doesn’t play well natively on my LG TV so isn’t on very often.

              Thanks JCD.

That was my initial thought but I don’t need all the ‘extras’.

              I’m just after something basic.

It’s the search terms I’m struggling with, no idea what I want is called. I can’t put what I want into words.

              Yay for autism! 🙄🤣

                My car turned 1 yesterday.

                13857 miles done.

I still love it. The handling is superb, enough power, of course I want more but I don’t need more, and nothing wrong with it.

The app reckons there’s another 5000 miles to it’s first service, that’s impressive considering it gets driven enthusiastically when possible.

                  Ed, your probably right.

Mine is top of the range apart from the full fat ST. It was £800 odd for the driver assist package. And there were still loads of options available.

My Swift Sport had everything included. No options apart from questionable decals and other trinkets.

IMO top of the range should have everything available included but I’m not a business person.

Drezha, I thought BMW/Mercedes VAG robbed people for upgrades but £3K for front parking sensors is in another league.

The reversing camera is really good. An update to the software on mine gave another 2 angles. The camera can get covered in crap but most of them do.

Stop/start is disabled by default in Sport mode, puzzles me a bit.

I haven’t bothered with Android Auto, the Ford sat nav is very good once you get it set. It likes postcodes. Welsh place names confuse it a bit.

Forgot to mention that the remote unlock could well be a handy feature for a family.

It’s been handy for me a few times when I’ve taken my mother shopping and she’s finished and I haven’t.

Lane assist does my head in.

Switched off in my car. If I lived in the USA or Australia where the roads can be straight for 100s of miles, fine.

I live in Wales. Twisty potholed roads, dodging the craters is a big thing.

                          Okay.

                          Forgot about the automatic limitation.

I’m aware that the specs have changed a bit since I got mine, did you get the full driver assistance pack?

Ed, the E Niro is meant to be a great family car.

I have my regen on maximum, can freak people out a little with how much it slows the car without using the brakes. Doesn’t take long to charge the tiny battery when going down a big hill.

If the MPG is a concern, leave it in normal or put it in Eco.
                                <p style=”text-align: left;”>It does make a difference.</p>
I don’t like the colour of the display in Normal and Eco is sluggish to me.

Mine is in Sport all the time, apart from when I had a very large leather armchair stuffed in the back. I put up with Normal for the short trip to my mother’s place to stop the chair shifting about and getting wedged.

I still love mine. Not far off a year now. Shame the full electric won’t be released until 2025, a year too late for me.

Had to get a tyre repaired today, slow puncture in the driver side rear.

Went to the Kwik Fit less than a mile away, booked in for 4 this afternoon. Took it back and they checked all the tyres, found the puncture I’d noticed and the other rear also had a big lump of glass in it so they fixed that as well.

While they were fixing the rears they noticed that the front tyres were still legal and with about 3k worth of tread on them so they offered to swap them as I was there. Job done, shiny new Bridgestone boots up front and 2 hopefully fixed rears. All in 40 minutes and at no cost to me.

The original front tyres lasted 13, 363 miles, not bad at all considering my Swift Sport could eat a pair in under 7,000……..

                                      Yes.

                                      Depends on your patience levels.

The Motorola Edge 20 can be had for very close to £300 on a good day with a fair wind.

Ed, it’s even better when seen for real.

                                        Truly stunning piece of art.

Hard to find even though it has been featured in Welsh online papers.

                                        Sums up the war perfectly.

                                            Amazon strike again.

I’d ordered some bits (USB C micro SD card readers, things like that) to be delivered to a local Amazon locker. Due Thursday.

Had the notification about 15.00 today that the parcel was ready for pickup.

Went to the locker, started the process and the app crashed. This happened several times so I re-booted the phone and tried again. Same thing.  I contacted customer services and eventually got a call back from them. 30 seconds in they hung up on me. Got another call back, this time the call lasted 45 seconds before they hung up. 3rd call back and we were slowly getting somewhere.

Eventually the rep said it was a global problem with all the Amazon lockers. Of course I have no way of confirming this. After a while I got a refund actioned.

I’m amazed that a company the size of Amazon haven’t got at least one backup system in place for the lockers. I wasted fuel and 90 minutes today. Not amused. I really need to get away from Amazon.
