I’m believe that all the plastic and other shite finding it’s way into the environment is terrible. When I could ride my bikes I’d be miles from any town or village and there would always be a McDonalds wrapper or crisp packets at every rest stop.
People are mostly lazy barstweards.
The planet will survive when humanity is gone, whether it’s by our own design (wars, which are very profitable) or just sheer laziness and ignorance.
There are organisms which thrive on consuming plastic.
OFC this doesn’t mean we should just sit back and do 2/10ths of bugger all to stop the pollution.
Electric cars are put forward as the ‘cure’ to urban pollution, they aren’t viable for the vast majority of the population. They also use a huge amount of resources to build, mostly for the batteries.
There is also some evidence that oil fields can replenish themselves, the Russians leave oil wells alone for years and come back to find them full again.
Just over a month into my Vodafone 12 month contract and it’s brilliant. 225 GB used last month, which amazed me, though it would be a lot more. Just shows that YouTube, Netflix and Amazon Prime have really got their streaming delivering high quality video for low bandwidth.
Also got my £120 automatic cashback cheque today, no hassle at all, literally no effort on my part.😀
I can’t argue with the suggestions put forward so far but if lightweight and excellent battery life is important then it’s a Chromebook all the way.
I’m almost totally on ChromeOs and Android. A Chromebook with Android support will do all you ask and more.
Check if you can put a cap on the out of contract spend. If you put that to 0 or very low you won’t be able to call numbers that cost extra.
Usually it covers all standard numbers. In other words non-premium numbers but do check your specific plan details as they can vary.
Happy birthday Lee.
Hope it’s a good one.
Dirt Rally on Steam
Media Player Classic, used to use that back in my Windows days.
No idea how good it is now but used to be very good.
Almost a month into my Vodafone adventure and I’m really happy.
Apart from one thing, the OnePlus 5T was getting really annoying, dropping the connection to any device many times a day, sometimes all devices.
It did my head in today so I now have a tp-link AC750.
Super happy with it, dead easy to set up and in the place where the old Virgin router sat I’m getting a steady 80 down and 25-30 up. I might play around with the location a bit tomorrow to see if I can squeeze a bit more out of it but the location works well as my Chromebox is now connected via Ethernet.
Only hassle I had was resetting the YeLight and getting that working properly. Then I remembered it only works on 2.4 GHz so I forgot the 5 GHz network on my phone and a minute or so later it was sorted.
My old car is now for sale at the dealers. £100 more than they gave me and they’ve done the (minor) bodywork and the (slightly more serious) paint work. It looks like new.
I’m well aware that they won’t show a loss, they’ll juggle the figures on what I paid for the Swift Sport and what they gave me for the old one so it all looks brilliant on the official records.
Thanks for sorting it out Lee.
I was a bit worried. ?
Doesn’t work like that John. Different platforms.
If the apps are available for Windows and they support cross-platform play (log in details and the like) then it’s possibly a goer.
It’s possible to get Android apps to work in Windows but it requires a lot of faffing about and a fair bit of grunt form the tablet.
Happy Birthday.
Sounds like a beast Dave.
Hope it all goes well.
Bits of Newport Town centre are like going back in time 10 years or so compared to Cardiff, not that I frequent Cardiff town centre these days.
Lots of very good people there though, one is my long term mate that runs Freestyle Skatestore in Newport Arcade.
Recently I’ve switched to more plant based foods, not because I’m a vegetarian or anything but I have a damaged stomach and can’t eat certain foods, pork being one of them.
Quorn and Linda McCarntey alternatives are truly amazing. Quorn frozen meatballs are epic. The burgers are very good and the sausages are also great. The McCartney sausages honestly taste better than any pork ones I’ve ever had, the mozzarella burgers are right up there with any beef burger I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot.
They also come up on offer fairly often in Asda, got a load of McCartney sausages and burgers in the freezer at mum’s, £1 a box.
They are also better for you and the planet.
Happens all the time Bob.
I was looking for a specific James Brown album yesterday, £5 new on Amazon or 99p + £1.83 for postage from Music Magpie in ‘excellent’ condition used. Checked eBay and Music Magpie were selling it for £1.99 delivered, also in ‘excellent’ condition, used.
I would have used my Play store credit but they don’t do the album I’m after, about 60 other ones though!
The world needs more youngsters like her.
Most I saw today was 28. Way to hot for me.
Air con is great but climate control is a different thing. Whack it on auto after the car has been in the sun, temperature drops quickly. I can’t stand it for very long as the fans are LOUD but 10 minutes or so is enough to bring the cabin down to levels I’m happy with.
Indeed Drez.
Best bit for me is I’m on the edge of the current 5G Vodafone coverage zone so by the time the coverage expands the 5G routers/ phones should be cheap enough to deploy to take the place of my OnePlus 5T.
The bloke that came to check the gas meter today reckons he gets 5G on his Vodafone Samsung massive something or other in most of central-ish Cardiff. He also said if it wasn’t a company phone he’d have sent it back as it’s to big for all of the storage places in his van.
