Thanks both.
7 hours and not much progress.
Back home now after seeing the consultant. He thinks I have an infection of some kind so skin scrapings and blood from a very recent spot in one of the affected areas were taken.
Should have the results Wednesday/ Thursday. Until then it’s carry on as is.
Worst bit was the GP advised me not to eat until given the go ahead, that had to come from the consultant, so 12+ hours with no grub.
Thanks Bob.
Just seen a doctor and now waiting to see a consultant.
GP has sent me to hospital for an assessment.
Now sat in the Heath hospital quietly freaking out. 😳
Bob, check this out.
About 15 years ago a very good friend of my my mothers fella was potentially knocking on death’s door. No feeling at all below his neck. I also call him a mate.
I got a chipod with a SD slot and loaded it with radio programmes from his youth. He used to ask the nurses to put the headphones on and then do the physical therapy. I knew he was getting better when he said he fancied the nurse that washed him that day.🙂
Thanks Ryan.
Bloody clubs, I’m a member of loads now…..🤔😁
Thanks Bob.
Enjoy the nosh!
Nice one BL, that could be very handy for my Android supporting Chromebook that is yet, if ever, to get a Linux environment.
Had to see the GP again because my hands are worse again. Skin has split on one of my fingers and looks like it’s about to split on 3 others.
Not seen this GP many times before but he’s always been good and today was no exception. He ran an ‘amplifier’ over my hands and fingers checking for a pulse in various locations and found that on the worst affected fingers there was a strong pulse on one side and nothing on the other. He suspects some form of Vasculitis.
He manged to get hold of a rheumatology registrar and they agreed that it wasn’t anything serious. An email to my rheumatologist was sent (luckily the GP knows him personally) and I have another appointment on Monday to see what happens next.
Just got a very good deal from the local ASDA.
£20 for 3 sets.

Sadly not Speed Champions but my nephew loves any kind of Lego so some in reserve is always good.
They had about 6 left after I got mine, will keep an eye on them.
I have a real problem with who to vote for.
I honestly can’t vote for anyone in my constituency with a clear conscience. Democracy is dead around here.
It’s a Labour ‘safe’ seat. Which I hate, I think all candidates should be concerned about their futures, just like a lot of young workers are.
I might have to do a ‘protest’ vote, not happy about that at all. I want to vote for someone, not against everyone else!
and later it feels like needles in the finger joints and knuckles.
That’s it exactly.
It sucks bawls but there’s no point sitting here doing nothing getting depressed so I do what I can as best as I can. Ben having trouble doing weights in the gym because of my hands so the last couple of days I smashed my records on the exercise bike, that way the pain in my legs is worse than my hands so I can then do the weights I need to if I’m quick about it. 😆
John, look at Smarty (it’s owned by 3) It could cost £5 a month for unlimited calls and texts to UK numbers, unused data is credited against the next bill.
Hit Lee up for a referral link and you could both get bonus month.
Switch the mobile data off on your dad’s phone if it’s a problem.
Had my telephone appointment on Wednesday, things have got worse not better. The steroids did nothing at all.
The pain has spread over my fingers and the swelling is still there. Doc gave me some co-codamol and recommended coming back in to surgery as the rheumatology nurses ‘helpline’ was an answerphone saying ‘see your GP’. 🙄
Co-codamol does nothing so saw the practice owner GP today and I now have morphine sulfate to start with tomorrow. He’s also going to get in touch with rheumatology on my behalf as he’s miffed at them, to put it mildly.
About 20 minutes ago I did my bi-weekly fluids check on the car.
Feels like minus 3 out there. Wind is gathering and getting colder.
Some of the low lying fields out between Dinas Powys and Barry are heavily flooded, nothing really new apart from the extent of the flooding. They must be have about 5 feet of water on them, maybe more. Never seen them like that. Some are close to flooding the road.
Similar to Dave.
Not that cold as such, about 7 celsius, lots of wet leaves but a bitter wind.
It could be the weather Bob.
One of the first questions asked by the Doc was if it coincided with the change in the weather. That was a negative.
I’ve never had more/less pain depending on weather, it’s pretty much the same apart from random flare ups.
I hate being hot, slightly warm is fine-anything more than that winds me up. I don’t mind the current temperature, about 5 Celsius ATM. I can always put more clothes on, can only take a certain amount off!
John, it’s not a complete list. If you are asked tell them electrical items or something like that.
Something that’s on the allowed list if it fits the items.
Been to the Doc today as my hands have been agony for about a week. Probable cause is an arthritis flare up.
Never had pain on the palm side of my fingers before so I was unsure of what it was, also never had very sensitive spots.
Load of steroids, anti-inflammatory stuff (despite the fact my weekly injection of methotrexate supposedly makes inflammation impossible 🤔) and double up my stomach meds, all for a week. Doc has promised a call to see if things improve or not next Wednesday.
Bob, it was backdated.
After the 4th tribunal judge personally intervened when the DWP told me that the claim was only valid from the 4th tribunal date. I knew that was bow locks but they wouldn’t listen.
A letter to the judge and 4 days later a letter form the DWP informing me that it was going to be backdated to the original claim date. A clerical error was blamed. I’m not that daft or naive.
