Les, I just let the film play, tap and hold and it gave me the option to download film night.mp4. That’s on Android.

I’d imagine that Linux would be similar.

My GP surgery is now not letting anyone in without a valid reason. The door is locked.

This was communicated via a  text message.  I understand the reasoning behind it but some more info would have been nice, like how to get my prescriptions.

I tried calling several times but could get no reply so I e-mailed them and had a reply within 5 minutes. Apparently there is a ‘hidden’ bell and when you ring it someone will come to the outside, glass, door and see what you want. If they believe you have a valid reason and look and sound OK they will let you in.

Loads of very easy things you can do to help with that Lee.

YouTube is your friend, as is very often the case.

All you need is a bit of space and your own body weight.

OFC go easy, don’t go to hard too fast.

Lee, are you not fit, or unwell?

I’m fit but unwell, I could be classed as one of the vulnerable who should stay indoors for months. Problem with that is my mental health would go downhill quickly.

I’m getting some survival tips of Charlton Heston, The Omega Man, a true classic.

Some 27 odd years ago I was at my university student mates house playing Doom on the PC he managed to con his parents into getting him for his studies. Doom wasn’t on any curriculum back then as far as I know.

We’d been to the students union and were well away. All his other housemates were back home for a bank holiday weekend. Cue one massive bang. We thought someone had hit one of the cars outside his house and legged it. No damage to any cars. I wobbled the 1/2 mile or so back to my place.

About 9 am the next day I get a very hung over mate on the phone begging me to come and help him. His home brew had exploded in the kitchen and totally coated the kitchen in beer. Every single nook, crannie and in between had beer in it. Roof, floor, doors, everything was sticky and gross.

18 hours later the kitchen was clean.

If you make home brew keep a close eye on it!!!!

My usual ASDA had a re supply of some stuff this morning, including bog rolls. Loads of their own brand stuff and some of the posher brands.

Still not good enough for some though, moaning that ‘their’ brand wasn’t available. FFS

                    The tracker arrived today.

Bit of a faff to set up, 2 different apps needed to do it properly and 2 accounts. No big deal really.

So far it seems to get a very good location lock, even indoors.

Battery life will be the key, it claims 1-2 days which isn’t much but would be enough for most purposes. It’s small size and low monthly cost might make it ideal for hiding in a car or motorbike.

The tracker and a 50p coin for size comparison.

The tracker in it’s hard case with carabiner.

What I needed, yes, not exactly what I wanted.

Only Heinz tomato sauce left, I prefer the low salt/sugar Asda one, just stuff like that. No big deal, just a minor PINTA.

I’m lucky, mum is about 2 miles away and always, always, has loads of stuff in the pantry if I get desperate. (Yes, it’s a proper, bloody cold, pantry)

I went shopping this afternoon, just for my usual stuff to keep in the cupboard for when my maladies make cooking a literal pain. Things like microwave rice, tinned spuds and sweetcorn, baked beans and also soups. And some part baked french sticks.

It was like the apocalypse had already  happened as there were empty shelves and people wandering around as if in a daze. A very very large couple literally had a trolley full of biscuits and crisps, the massive trolley which you can get a a 5 a side team in.

I was glad to get out of there as the dumb arse behaviour was winding me up, another couple I saw were buying lots of chilled ready meals, easily enough for a family of 4 for a fortnight, most of them have a use by date of 3 days at best.  so they are either going to get very fat, ill or waste a load of food. 🙄

If the worst happens I can survive on one meal a day, won’t be fun but I’ve done it in the past.

No idea about the legality but they can go bang quite easily if not used properly.

Since the minimum unit price came in for Wales I’ve heard of a few stills going up.

Les, an RFID sleeve or wallet would do the job, or wrap it in tin foil (and make a hat while you’re at it).😋

Because of my ongoing hand issues I can’t use soap and have been advised to avoid generic hand sanitizers (like the one in the gym, big container with no ingredients listed).

I’m carrying one of these around with me. Mines on prescription though.

No idea if it’s as effective as sanitizers but it may be an option due to being antimicrobial.

Dave, the station where the scrapped locos were is technically still there, not been used for many a decade though. It wasn’t on the Island, close though.

If you get down there try and go on a Wednesday, this place is worth a bit of time, the actual museum is tiny but the volunteers are really knowledgeable and love what they do. There is a lot of information in the tiny space.
