Thanks for the heads up. 👍
That’s better.
I was on just after your first post and on my phone it was almost unusable.
Works fine now. :good:
Suzuki have ‘launched’ the hybrid Swift Sport.
And it’s heavier and slower than my 2018 version. Also not a proper hybrid.
IMO they’ve messed up badly, should have gone proper hybrid, maybe using the 1.0 Turbo from my SZ-T Swift and a decent motor and battery combo.
Done me a favour though, I have no desire to own the new version. Nothing else fits so well with my needs so I’m keeping my car for a good while.
Might also be worth some £££ in a few years, last of the petrol versions. Not counting on that, that’s daft.
Latest listening is Twisted Sister, Big Hits and Nasty Cuts.
It’s amazing, only ever knew them from the ‘cock rock’ era, mid 80’s maybe. Maybe a couple of songs that were kind of mainstream.
Got the CD from MusicMagpie for £2 delivered.
I can’t eat pork anymore, in any form. Makes my slightly damaged stomach react in a very urgent, unpleasant way. :negative:
Same goes for milk, cream and olive oil. I can have low fat cheese and some butter but I have to be careful.
Thankfully the Quorn alternatives are epic, as are the Ikea vegetable based sausages.
Did some shopping for myself and mum/ her fella today.
More stuff on the shelves and a better choice as well. More branded stuff if that’s your thing.
Also loads of bog roll. Still limited to a packet per trolley though.
Most noticeable though was actual fresh fruit/veg. It’s always been there but looked tired and old.
Because of the one way system in ASDA I went down the wine aisle, pretty much all the white was gone, a fair bit of red M.I.A and about 50% of the Prosecco / Champagne gone. Fair bit of beer missing but that was being re-stocked when I was there. :good:
Loads of chilled stuff in the reduced section, some of it freezable so grabbed a pork joint for mum, 2.5KG £2. Got cooked chicken for me tomorrow, 3 meals easy, 40p. B-)
Still loads of people acting like bell ends though, security removed one rsole from the waiting line as I was on the way out. He refused to keep space between him and others. :negative:
Next time I need anything from them I’ll also do that.
I had the option of picking up at about 4 takeaways.
Wasn’t doing that.
Not sure if it’s in short supply or just because of illness but I had a Uber Eats code for 50% off certain local takeaways. I don’t often do takeaways but as Mum and her fella have been in isolation for a while I went looking for Fish and Chips.
Of the 4 local ones I could use the code at only one was open at lunch time. Anyway ,3 large fish and chips delivered outside my door by a well protected Uber delivery person, he knocked the door and backed off to the pavement. The food was in a taped shut bag and all the cartons were taped shut. All for £9.75.
All I had to do then was pop up the road to drop 2 off outside mum’s house. Honestly never done that round trip quicker, even sticking to the limits. All the traffic lights seem to be working on sensors now instead of the usual timing routine. 13 minutes there and back including dropping of the food and a quick chat with mum through the window. Usually takes about that one way.
Good news Bob! :good:
Result! :good:
Yes Dave.
They come with a key chain attached, it’s pretty flimsy though.
Keep on trucking Bob. :good:
JCD, technically I shouldn’t go out because of my medication for my arthritis. It’s the same stuff that some chemotherapy patients have but in a lower dose.
I’ve spoken with both my GP and my consultant and they both said don’t go out if possible. Thing is I have no choice. Mum gets really ill quick if she gets a cold, not life threatening but bad enough to make her almost useless as a carer, which she is for her fella. He has bad COPD, so he can’t go anywhere ATM.
I have to shop for them. There’s no-one else in the family who’s geographically close enough.
I might also go the long way round to their house from the supermarket. Just because of what the traffic used to be like, OFC. Not because there are some great B roads with national speed limits that my little car was built for…….. :good:
Did some shopping today and Asda was totally different.
One way in, one way out. Also a long line of crowd control barriers with people queuing. Way longer than I could get to the end of the line. Probably only 40-50 peeps but big gaps in between each one.
I managed to get a security guards attention and explained to him that I couldn’t physically get to the end of the line and do a shop but I’d be happy to wait in the car until it was my turn if he could give me a signal.
He had a word with the other security guard and they let me in through the exit, gave me a pair of gloves and even got me a trolley! To say I was grateful is a massive understatement. :yahoo:
I’ve tried to get a delivery slot but there is nothing available, not even click and collect from any supermarket (as of 5pm anyway). The scheme which runs in England which give priority delivery to vulnerable people is not mirrored in Wales. :negative:
Personally I’d never go back to a land based broadband.
I understand that using the mobile network is not viable for everyone but my speeds are still awesome with Vodafone 5G.
If it’s anything like it is around here it’s very quiet.
I don’t think anyone in my cul de sac has been out in a car today.
I keep hearing sirens but that’s because there’s almost no road or rail noise. I reckon most of the sirens are miles away.
That’ll be one hell of an omelette Lee!
Sadly you’re right Dave.
I know of one person, a true master of redoing knackered parquet flooring, also incredibly good at any kind of carpentry and general D.I.Y. He’s literally saved the legion thousands over the years by re-doing the skittle alley and other bits for expenses and a few pints.
Just had about £300,000 of work cancelled. The bank that has his business account has threatened to close his account, no reason at all. Pay 5% interest on a non existent loan and carry a normal. Tits.
He’s not that worried right now, his wife has the sensible head and saves lots of £. He knows the work will always be there, might take a little longer to come back though.
Just as well you don’t drive/ ride a motorbike anymore Dave!!!
