Ed, I watched a lengthy podcast yesterday, the most interesting bit concerning Covid 19 and Vitamin D is in this clip.
There’s a new Suzuki dealership just opened. :yahoo:
Luckily it’s even closer to me than the old one was (3-5 minutes in the car, the old one was 5-10 minutes) and it’s now under the White Dove group which already have Seat and Skoda dealerships right next to each other. Suzuki backs onto the overflow car park of the Seat dealership.
That’s going to save me a 40+ minute round trip when I need servicing done.
Thanks all.
Ryan, that’s epic. :good:
Thanks all.
Been a pretty good day so far, had a bit of a back lane blast (legit, honest Guv’), my oil for the car turned up after being missing for 12 days (Euro Car Farts strike again, if it wasn’t 40% cheaper than anywhere else I’d have exploded by now), had some exercise kit from my bro and his kids and I just wrecked Amazon. :yahoo:
I was sent a gift card for Amazon from extended family. Applied it to my account, bought some stuff and the gift card wasn’t used. Couldn’t cancel the order, went around in a loop so I contacted them via chat. The operator couldn’t cancel the order either. Then her access to all the chats apart from mine went down. Then I got booted out of my account and couldn’t log in again.
Eventually I got back into my account and the nice lady had sorted it all for me. I have no idea what actually happened, must be something to do with being 47…………
Damn right it did Dave!
Thanks.
Thanks John.
Thanks Lee.
Dave, Openreach were on my estate just over a week ago, same story as you. In every knook and crannie.
I came home one day to find them poking around in my front garden. Told them to bugger off post haste. They claimed they had permission and they were performing critical upgrades to my service.
I called the local PCSO as I couldn’t get into my house as they wouldn’t move. She was here within minutes and told them in very plain language to move immediately. I now have a formal complaint with the police against them as do some other residents as their vans were blocking driveways and so on. They literally thought they could do what they wanted.
They were allegedly doing fibre to the premises upgrades, my house hasn’t had any kind of land line for over 20 years and as far as I’m aware, never a BT one.
Agree with Bob, Experian is the place to go.
A good few years back I ‘had’ a CCJ that was allegedly from a credit card company I never heard off. The letter was from a debt collection agency. A few hours online and I found out they were shysters inventing CCJs and sending out hundreds of letters a week. I forwarded all the letters to the local Police anti-fraud department.
If you are actually after credit, for your own sake, don’t go for one of the credit cards that they give to almost anyone. The interest rates will kill you.
From what I’ve seen in the last few days, and the reports in the local online media, we are going to have a pretty big spike in infection rates soon.
People act like idiots when the sun is out and they’ve had a few drinks.
Delivery dates are all over the place at the moment John.
Unless you’ve paid for a guaranteed date there’s not much you can do.
With Hermes it all depends on your local courier.
Mine is brilliant, he knows my car so won’t even bother trying to deliver unless my car is outside, instead he just sends me a text message and I tell him when I’ll be in. If only all couriers were that good……
I can only really echo what Dave and Ed have said.
Good luck and I’ll keep the payments going.
Yesterday my First Person View version of the E61H (the larger blue one) arrived. This is the E61HW.
It has a 0.9 MP camera, not the 0.3 it’s meant to have. It uses Wi-Fi to connect to your phone and you can control the cameras function from the app. You can also fly it using the app. Other than a tiny ariel it looks identical to the non-camera version.
The camera version weighs a massive 2 grams more, uses the exact same batteries and flies a bit more stable but the batteries don’t last as long. That’s the weight. Really impressed with video quality in good light, in the semi gloom of my living room it works for me but I can see most people not finding it bright enough.
I also have a big one on the way for if we are ever allowed out when and where we want to. Mine is the 4K, searchlight and 3 batteries package. Due in about 2 weeks.
Richard, glad that things are mostly OK.
Regarding your youngest daughter, keeping the mind and body active is vital.
I’ve found this lockdown a right pain as when things used to get a bit much much I’d go for a blast in my car. (A long bike ride before the car was a necessity). Luckily, mostly due to the folk on here that saw the potential for the pandemic, I ordered some exercise equipment before the prices went nuts. I’ve also been cleaning out stuff I’ve been hoarding for years. Difficult but needed doing.
As I can’t go for a proper drive I ordered some flying toys and a tiny R/C car from China. The car arrived today and is epic.
Get something, anything, to keep your daughter occupied.
Good luck.
If the car dealers around here are any judge of the lockdown being slacked off a bit then it’s locking good.
Seat and Skoda have fully re-stocked their showrooms (same group a very short distance apart), Toyota/Lexus seems to be almost fully stocked, Kia/ Hyundai are fully stocked, Jaguar Land Rover are re-stocking, Honda looks like it’s starting to re-stock, Renault/Dacia are busy re-stocking as are the 3 car supermarkets.
All that remains is BMW, MINI (same group, different sites about a mile apart), Mazda, Nissan, MG/Fiat/Chrysler, Ford, Volvo (same group, sites next door to each other and also a HiQ branch) and a few smaller second hand dealers.
Most of the nearby motor factors have been working as usual, some of the chain garages (ATS and the like) have been only doing key worker repairs/ services.
Dave, I use Nord and it’s better than ever. They have a new VPN protocol, NordLynx.
Get your mate to switch to that in the settings, see if that helps.
Hangouts Dave. I use it with my brother on his iThings

Yes, mostly it will.
Depending on what your looking at have a look on Banggood,Gearbest or Wish.
You might find it a lot cheaper. Some have UK or Europe warehouses as well and while not everything is available from them and the cost is a bit more they arrive a lot quicker.
That’s not the worst service I’ve had from them Bob.
A few years back, when I could still cycle a bit I ordered some new tyres for my Fat Bike. £60 each. 😥
Had a text from Yodel saying they’d been delivered. No, they haven’t. Tried contacting them with no luck as usual.
Happened to be on a ride which took me not far from their depot so I called in to enquire about my missing parcel. ‘No idea Sir’.
On the way out I circled the depot to take another route home and saw my parcel hanging out of the bin! Empty of course. Went straight back in and called the police in front of all the poor schmucks trying to get sense out of the staff.
Because of that a very big cycle/run chain stopped using them and someone was sent down for theft and fraud and someone else was given a very long suspended sentence.
I ended up with my tyres 2 days after calling the police and a refund.
