Tomorrow I can go for a proper drive and take photos in nice places, legally!

If there are any people about I won’t be getting close to them, even with a mask and gloves on. I can’t run away from idiots!!!

I’m not looking forward to the pubs re-opening, if they can. Brains reckon that only about 30% of their pubs can reopen from the 13th, not enough outside space and lack of beer are the main issues. They reckon 3 weeks would be pushing it, 10 days notice, no way.  Same story for most restaurants in Cardiff, small outside spaces. The council has made changes to roads and parking to allow for more space but apparently not the licensing rules.

If anyone sees a black Suzuki Swift Sport on B roads near-ish Cardiff tomorrow and the driver has a massive grin, it could well be me. 🙂

All I need now is for the wind too drop and then I can  test fly my new quadcopter for real.

Steve, Nolan, in the nicest way possible, I hate you right now! I’ve just managed to get up from 8Mbps to 13Mbps

        Sorry Ryan.

That was yesterday. Never seen it that fast before. :yahoo:

          Sh%t, that sucks.

          Best of luck Bob.

We’re all wishing you a good outcome.

Makes you realise we are behind over here.

My latest speed test was done Monday.  Don’t forget that according to Vodafone I’m right on the edge of 5G coverage.  I’m happy with it. B-)

I have the K400+ and use it on my LG TV and my Chrome Box.

I had a right palaver getting the Unifying receiver to work cross platform. I had to uninstall the software and re-do the connection. Since then it’s been rock solid on everything I’ve tried.

I have no idea why it would work on Windows and not on my Chrome Box, as you know it should just work once connected. Unlike your issue with lag it just wouldn’t work at all.

Amazon Prime is great if you get the value out of the service. Refunds are usually issued as soon as the item shows up on their system as ‘return underway’.

Locally Argos is also brilliant at returns and refunds. If I need something urgently or it’s the same price as elsewhere I use Argos. Pre-Coronavirus the staff were also epic. If I ordered something for click and collect which I can’t carry on my crutches they ALWAYS offer to take it to the car for me. I use 2 different Argos branches, about 5 miles apart depending on which has stock and it’s the same in both shops.

The rules in Wales are still different, didn’t stop a load of RSoles having a pretty big dust-up at Ogmore On Sea yesterday.

We are probably 3 weeks behind England regarding restrictions, exercise is still only allowed ‘5 miles’ from home. Of course loads of people ignore it. Just like all the other restrictions.

I still can’t go and test fly my new quadcopter legally, I believe that if I wanted to chance it I’d have a fair chance of getting away with it due to my autism, not going to chance it.

                  Yet…………

Boris, fill it up with fuel, ASAP.

Lack of fuel can result in condensation in the tank and possibly rust.

I didn’t want a smart meter either, ended up with Igloo.

They’re no cheaper for me, they don’t do the Warm Home scheme either which is worth £140.

                      Thanks though. :good:

I need to switch suppliers soon, about 30 days. My current tariff is coming to an end and SSE have nothing close to the one I’m currently on with them.

Annoyingly all the good tariffs insist on a smart meter which I don’t want. Needs must if it saves me money though.

Looks like E.ON for me, especially as they do the Warm Home scheme.

However next time the Mormons or Spanish Inquisition coming knocking on your door you will have the perfect riposte  .

I already have the perfect riposte, ‘Read the f***ing sign’.

I have a sign on my door politely telling salespeople, religious types, charity types and survey takers not to bother me.

You should now be in the middle of the downpour we just had. If you were out that would have given them a good workout.

We had it Dave, lightning as well though I didn’t hear any thunder. Lasted maybe half an hour.

Ended up getting some Vipa blades, complete set.

Got them from Amazon as they were in stock, came this morning and fitted with minimal faffing about. They seem to be really good, OFC time will tell but at least they came before the rain did. :good:

TBH they’ve been needing a change for a few weeks but with everything else going on it keeps slipping my memory.

                                    Nice one.

The local Halfords isn’t open yet.

I think the one about 6 miles away is. Will check later.

Can anyone recommend any wiper blades? Mine all have little  nicks in them so need replacing soon.

On my previous Swifts I used Bosch but they wore out quickly and were only OK.

I don’t mind paying for quality but I also don’t like being ripped off.

I might have sorted the 4K recording issue.

I forgot to mention that I couldn’t find the micro SD slot, even though it’s marked on the bottom of the drone. After a bit of digging I found out that the whole camera module slides out to allow access to the SD slot. In theory the recording to the SD should be in 4K.

                                          That’s something to try tomorrow.

No mention of that in the manual.

My big quadcopter came today. Finally.

Compared to the ones I had it’s huge. Compared to some available, it’s not big at all.

The red one is my previous largest one.

Not flown it outside and only briefly indoors as it’s quite scary in a small living room. As there’s no satellites available it’s down to trimming it to get it be stable, need a bit more space than I have available to keep it away from things and trim it at the same time.

Not bolted the searchlight on yet but it’s nice and bright and has it’s own rechargeable battery.

For some reason I can’t get the camera into 4K mode, it’s only doing up to 1080p at the moment. You can manually adjust the camera from straight ahead to straight down. From my quick play with it looks to be a good quality image.

Batteries are rechargeable via micro USB. Best to use the cable supplied as that has a charging indicator LED on it.

The app seems to be good, with a little deciphering of the manual it looks quite logical and easy to use.

Importantly, with the searchlight, it’s 230 grams, safely under the 250 limit where you need to register.

I just need to able to get out and give it a proper flight now.
