Utiltia installed our PAYG smart meters GAs/Electric, switching to OVO was the worst thing I could have done for all their claims of making it simple have been countered by shit customer service, inability to accept the meter readings I gave even when you provide photo evidence every time I log in I fear what I’ll see for example yesterday I used over £6 pound gas-electric(nobody was in) Sunday I managed £3 with everyone in. so if your getting them be careful with who your getting them.

Never had a snag with Giffgaff and will move back to it when this contact ends.  My FiL is on Tesco and has had snags with customer services he’s 75 and if something goes wrong they treat him like crap when he rings, in store staff cannot really help(they are contracted s/employed).  Google around a bit there is a good chance you will find better deals.

If you cannot see the cursor when the mouse is removed are you also unable to get to the screen using tab, space and enter??

            Try,

Settings, Devices, Mouse & Touchpad, Additional mouse options

This should bring up a Synaptics screen giving you the option to enable/disable the “ClickPad” see if that helps.

According to the daughter’s machine its running Synaptics Pointing Device v 18.1.29 should you need software/drivers.

            Hope this helps

I think overall the TV market has been far too slow to adapt to the changing world of media accessibility.  Kodi is a prime example of this Open source and has lots of add-on’s that enable various functions.  People want to watch their flavor when they want to not when big networks decide that they should, hence Amazon and Netflix taking big strides into popularity. That said Amazon, Netflix and Now sit on separated platforms meaning that still, for the most part, one box does not do all.  Although apps are available for most devices.  If they took a slice of humble pie and embraced Kodi I think they could attract even more viewers.

There’s an app that offers paid for access to US TV at the same time as the US release being advertised at the minute can’t remember the name of it but it show Americas next top model and alike.  If fox/hbo etc started offering this on a multi-platform app I do believe they could cut the number of illegal downloads.

Sky has not attempted to embrace this possibly because it would detract from its advertising revenues but given that other producers are thriving with on demand I think that Skys days in its present format are very numbered.

Ed P you could maybe talk to Kodi about a program called Exodus and see if that can tempt you away from the Devil!

It just goes to show how interconnected to the internet everything is these days.  But it’s typical M$ take something useful and make it U/S I take it Impress could not be used/do what they want it too.

was just a, though, nurses used to get annoyed with me as I had found the button and every time it crashed I reset it myself as opposed to waiting for 3 hrs for a technician to press reset!

I tell people who have not Seen GoT to watch Ep3 from S1 before 1&2 as they are IMO quite dry and could easily put people off.

Loved Broadwalk Empire but the storylines let it down in the later series, SWMBO has quit watching Silent Witness this series TBH I gave it up years ago.

I’m currently watching Alaskan Bush People(Discovery) fake as hell but funny, The Last Alaskans exact opposite of Alaskan Bush People.

Law and Order from the start, The Curse of Old Oak Island is good fun too.

There have been a couple of recent strange cancellations in the US market that have confused viewers.   Both Law And Order(original) and CSI:LV got dropped not because their viewing figures did but because their viewing demographic moved out of the 18-49 range and it lost its slot.  Bones was canceled not because of ratings or popularity but because the Exec Producer went to war with Fox over money and they called his bluff.

Interestingly, Ripper Street, saved by Amazon after the BBC ditched it got canceled because the original cancellation pulled the storyline forward to fast, though if anyone can explain the final episode to me!

Well, the current system, for the most part, works on Pre-Selected viewers returning statistics for what they have watched, so the random person that stumbles across the program that figure won’t be recorded.

Pre-selected viewers can also give incorrect data, though, daytime figures can be disturbed by school/state holidays and sports matches.  Evening figures can be affected by events such as valentines day which might explain some of the see-saw’ing.  Other factors that can quickly affect figures are political stances Trump supporters, for example, saw a brief dip in popularity, mirrored in their programs a dip not mirrored outside of the US.  Acknowledged viewing figures in the US can only come from one source, this validates viewing figures in that they were definitely watched at that time, there generally does not appear to be much interest in on-demand viewing figures.

Outside of advertising, figures can be useful for establishing social trends, Westworld causes a price spike in the Book of the original film, GoT got people reading again and The Grand Tour caused a surge in demand for Loch Ness Accommodation after the show had aired.  So knowing air dates and popularity is advantageous.

                              Cheers Knight,

West World = Must Watch, that said you need to have seen the movie to stand a chance of actually understanding the first maybe 3 episodes even SWMBO watched it!

Most US viewing figures are very accurate they use the Nielsen system, which is a kind of DVR that phones home daily.  It records two sets of data, 1 what was watched and when and 2 views are asked to rate on a scale of 1 to 10 1= shit 10 = shit hot.  But this system is flawed as it categorizes programs  between cable and syndication(sky and Freeview), it also only records viewing figures on the day of release (watched live or same day on the DVR) so if you watch all your TV at the weekend your vote ain’t counted, this can explain some of the figures fluctuation.

This is the method for tracking trends is deemed the fairest, crucially it allows advertisers to establish whether or not the ad is watched, Live TV cannot be fast forwarded = cost effective advert placement = big money.

Nielsen is very effective, but given the money it commands it has to be, full access to their data can break down every aspect of a viewer from race to sexual orientation through to how much of the program was watched and which bits got skipped.

As ever though it’s only a snapshot, Game of Thrones nearly got canned by HBO until European viewing figures got back to the Network Exec’s.  Amazon and Netflix have their work cut out as what works in one place does not work elsewhere.

                                  Cheers Knight,

                                    Coffee has kicked in!

One HDMI out equals One HDMI Display, splitting the display as John suggests appears to be one solution.

This won’t resolve the number of cables but could drive 2 displays separately.

Looking at wiki what you describe your BiL as using is the L85 with the rail.  I thought you were referring to the L22 (Stubby One above) wiki says it’s less accurate, looking at it I’d agree with the spray and pray definition.

The L85 as I said Above is one I never encountered but I cannot for the life of me see how an extended barrel would be advantageous in a jungle environment but I’ve never been a foot soldier and have no idea!!

That first rifle is the L85 Variation I’ve never personally encountered it though I was aware of it according to wiki the Infantry, RAF and RM use it and can have a grenade launcher attached. I always thought it was a sniper variant, proves how much attention I was not paying!

As for the L22 it may be a susat I just googled SA80L22 and stole the pic!

                                          Cheers Knight,

@Robin Yes it’s a Samsung. There is an individual file player. No player (uninstalled?) though.

on an out of the box S4 and S5 it’s called “Music” may have been installed not included on yours!

                                            Cheers Knight,
