This arrived today, I put some down in strips and placed down the front door mat, I placed bigger strips under the large living room rug.
They still move, the front door mat is, itself a non slip mat.
I searched the internet most common avice is underlay (like above link) some say glue it (no ta) some say pin it (no ta)
You can get double sided carpet tape then there is these but you need to stick it to the carpet. However I need to get the mats up (at times) will the sticky stick that much it takes off the pile?. I can’t see a purpose of a mat if it’s fixed I may aswell just use the fixed carpet.
It’s said that it’s the pile that moves, taking the carpet with it.
Thinking about the Anti Non Slip Mat Grip (I now have) I purchased a mat for under the computer desk, I fear that’s going to slip away.
It’s doing my head in, please help with a perfet solution.

JohnNice one Dave & Bob I will experiment.
Whoever said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, you learn somet new every day.

JohnInteresting it sounds promising.
Dave n Bob from what you say, you only need strips under a mat (not fully cover the area)? on a carpet.

JohnThanks JayCee
I got me some of that, with a few purposes in mind (as well as the carpet).

JohnThanks Graham the Silicone on JayCee’s link (above) seemed to stick it, the oven has been used many times since and it’s still stuck solid.

JohnAlthough salt kills them it can cause them to bubble-up with a disgusting yellow slime which would not be good on a carpet!
It didn’t bubble, so the salt didn’t kill it, not sure if it was dead, it’ll be on the refuse dump by now.
I have no more slime on the carpet
Ed the trail came from knowhere, went all around the carpet and finished, I could never see where it came from (went to). It’s like he turned the slime off at times to fox me.
Cheers
JohnIt’s only £330 – 1p, could you build it.
Cheers
JohnThanks Bob, I didn’t know they could speed up, as you say it’s slippy. I bet when the fitters pick it up they slide on the slime.
I have emailed the fitters and mentioned it and sent the picture (no reply yet).

JohnRichard I learn every day thanks for the info.
JayCee I never thought to scan but I didn’t know the photo would stick, again I learn.
I amy have scanned it years ago, I need to look in the backup drive.

JohnAfter my experience I won’t be so quick on removing photos, agree a warning should be on.
You can never replace it especially as it was me with Noel Edmunds at silverstone raceway standing in the doorway of the minibus I was driving. All those combinations can never be created again.
Don’t do it Bob
Cheers
JohnThanks Bob I will put the tips on my list, I hope I never come across one in the home again. I never did see it it to pour salt on.
The housing group fitted new windows recently, the fitters laid all the plastic/windows on the front lawn did it hitch a lift on a window/plastic trims?

JohnToo right dwynnehugh. it has been a nightmare, I nearly fetched in Paul Shantiny

JohnYes I have an ice scraper, blow me down that did work. It left a faint black scar, but that soon went with a sponge scourer.
Problem solved

Cheers
JohnThanks Richard n Bob
I think I get where you’re coming from, so the picture above shows the rear of the photo. Maybe art card or art paper. The frame was from poundland and as ever it has paper backing that came out. As I went to fetch the actual photo out all that isn’t showing came out with ease as normal, just the part showing stuck.
Come what may I can’t shift it, today I tried WD40 tomorrow nail polish remover.

Cheers
JohnThanks PM & Ed
WD40 I have so I will try that, Goo Gone is added to my list for now.
Cheers
JohnThanks for the tips, it’s real glass I am frightened of scratching it with a knife/blade.
I will try break fluid (out the resoviour) then try nail polish/coke I don’t use either so I will go for the cheapest first.
Cheers
JohnThanks
There is a few carpet shops, I go and look see if they have a carpet I am thinking of (my searches don’t bring up pattern carpet only plain or striped), preferably end of roll.
More car distance than walking and on the retail sites.

JohnI will put it in a black bag, then in the wheelie bin, hopefully the council take it away, that’s the theory.
I watched a program about fly tippers, the council officers rip the black bag open, to search through looking for adresses.
You never know what happens to the bin.
That reminds me a couple of weeks ago most the wheelie bins were stolen from near properties, the thief/s has since been back and took more. There are 6 left which are now locked together with a bike lock.
The council say they have to pay £35 for new ones or £13 for a second hand bin, even though they have a crime number. The refuse collectors are at least picking up the rubbish that’s in bin liners, till another bin is sorted. .
Back to it the theif dumped all rubbish out the bins on a nearby field, that’s rubbish someone might tamper with. If there are stanley blades in, more work for the NHS.
I also watch balif evictions have you seen the rubbish that gets left behind, some has to pick it up.
So you just never know be safe in the first place.
Cheers
