Maybe the copy of 10 on USB is corrupt, have you or can you not try a DVD Win 10 installation
Cheers
JohnPhotos is just an example to say BT is on. I did notice rig 1 is private rig 2 is on public. I have tried to change it within Windows.
I do recall when setting up Windows I selected not to share, so maybe that’s the problem.
Too much hastle to start again, to use one drive dropbox is uploadoading and drains the rig and when needed it’s downloading, I have stuff on dropbox, at one time I lost it so I don’t trust it. Also I like to keep my eye on stuff, can’t be done up there.
I recently ordered a new USB drive to use for sharing and storing.

JohnThanks Duke
They’re mainly from a mobile and it’s no trouble to use BT, it was just to say BT is on, nerby sharing says not connected.

JohnDave I checked out Nearby Sharing both have Blutooth (USB dongle) both are on (I send photos from mobile) yet it says not connected in nearby sharing.
I try to share but get nothing, it says make sure your device is on. I try send to bluetooth device, a window opens to select where to send your files, the box is empty.

JohnI did look at the one Dave suggested, I would only use bsic so it’s not worth me buying one give me back XP I did it on that, lots often said why use XP now?
In fact I am using some USB 3.0 drives as we speak to transfer.
Cheers
JohnThanks I will stick with USB stick, I now have both with USB 3 so it shouldn’t take long. I just wanted to use potential, but no easy potential around windows got worse.

JohnGraham at least you managed it
Cheers
JohnThanks for all the help on this.
I think I am gonna knock it on the head.
I tried this n that then the other, it get’s complicated. Also I read/spot something else like PC1 Nework is Private yet PC2 Network is Public I am now in a swet.
Thanks Again all.
Cheers
JohnI typed in run \\192.168.1.101
after a minute or so it said

I called it PC2 so I typed PC2

But then I am not sure what you mean by called it, I call them lots of names at different times. On setting up user name I set as PC2 other than I don’t have a name (most the time).
Windows has given it a system name DESKTOP-OVCAGIN I typed that

As before I tried to share a folder (as you suggest)
After right clicking on a folder there is no share, if I select a file I can share

I am lost now.
Cheers
JohnThanks all
Blacklion where do I type the numbers.
Duke the files could be bigger than 25mb
Dave I do have and use one drive, not fit for the purpose. The files are on D: E: or F: etc not in One Drive folder, at the time I would need to copy into one drive then pick them up in one drive on the other, to many one drives.
I used to use USB PC link not available for 10, I have previously used networking I need to move GB at times.
The way I am doing it it via a USB drive, I copy to USB in PC1 put the USB in PC2 and paste.
I know networking would save me manually copying & pasting by just passing one to the other, I just can’t network.

Johncan you bring back the birthday forum it seems only you see it. As you are aware I missed all the cake.
Cheers
JohnThanks Graham I will probe once it’s back on.
So sos Boris I knew it was a B but I couldn’t think what came after B so I guesed. It’s still sorting my problem out. It’s plugged in and hiding behind the desk, while I use a USB keyboard for everything other than when I need to press any key it has to be PS2.
Cheers
JohnMy problem is well before windows, as long as it has a PS2 keyboard plugged in then I can select press any key to continue (whilst loading an OS CD/DVD on startup of a fresh install.
This problem is long running I think it was Bob Williams? whos sent me a PS2 keyboard, if it wan’t Bob (williams) then ooppss my memory is —— up again. it could have been BJM
Cheers
JohnThanks Bob that’ll be great

JohnThanks Lee
What happened to the Forum Birthday app?, I think it went with the last downage? and got lost.
Cheers
JohnThanks Dave n Graham
This will only see PS2 on first install to selet any key to coninue. I had this on MM with my last Lenovo, Lenovo even changed the motherboard. What ever I select in the bios (it’s getting in) doesn’t help. It is only when you boot CD/DVD fist time.
Cheers
JohnThanks Dave
Looking at The Ryzen it’s AMD I would need everything to go with it. One of interest on Ebuyer it doesn’t have an Optical, not sure if it means no space for optical, it also says no O/S I have a spare optical, can u still get Windows 10 cheap off ebay trusted to work.
Cheers
JohnThanks Dave
I will leave it, as it is.
Cheers
JohnThanks Ed & Graham
My Lenovo doesn’t see the USB keyboard at first boot (until Windows comes in. It does see a PS2 Keyboard.
So when you first install Windows it says press any key to continue, if you only have a USB keyboard in you can’t press any key (hence the PS2 keyboard) I was after a word like Dos to explain, ie a USB keyboard isn’t seen in Dos for people to understand in a sale description.
Cheers
