I thought that was what you were after. When you click the button, in the posting box below, it shows the quote and /quote , plus the words from the post, in [square brackets], – it just displays slightly differently from the MM forum.

If you click on the quote button you’ll see what I mean ( I hope:) )

Bob, I don’t think anybody escaped that rain today. It started off New Years Eve stretching from Northern Ireland to Northern Scotland and spent yesterday travelling South.:( It’s just gone midnight and on to the 2nd now and we’re still getting the last dregs of it.

Happy New Year to one and all – very quiet night last night, except for the poxy fireworks winding the dogs up!! – nothing worth watching on real time tele, Robbie was as naff, if not naffer, than previous years, Hootenanny was dire, ended up watching the ITV news review and switching back to BBC1 for the fireworks, then caught up with a few previously recorded programmes. Plus a couple of large single malts:D

Looks like we in the South are in for the rain coming down from the North later today. Welcome to a wet winter!!:(

It gives me 4 options in the  drop down box, black text on blue is very hard to read, however, the “Leave Chat” got rid of the box. Cheers.

PS – your @jayceedee didn’t generate a notification or an email. Could that be because I’m John Davies on here??;)

EDIT – It just asked me permission to show notifications, so that seems to have solved it. As soon as I clicked “Allow” a box popped out of bottom right side of scree telling me !!:)

Just spotted the new layout, Lee – it’s looking good. The blue banner looks easier on the eye than the black was, the categories are still easy to pick out.

The notification when someone refers to a user in a post is useful, as it’s pro-active, instead of ” pot-luck when they see it.”

EDIT – forgot to ask – From one of the chat sessions, I’ve got a Private Chat box open, ( don’t know how or why ), in the bottom right of the screen, that I cannot see how to close off. I can minimise it, but not close it off completely. Is there anyway to get rid??

At the top of the Topic page there’s a box. For me it shows all the replies, voices, views, etc, but it only shows a box with “Profile photo of….” and no picture.

Using W10 Home 64,  + Chrome.

Hi Lee, thanks for that. It may only be small, but in the Tab at the top of my screen, plus the Tab in the bookmark bar the writing is even smaller, so the icon is a visual aid!!  :good:

I only noticed it when I was linking to this site from within MM, using copy and paste off the url, so not a problem per se, but I thought I’d mention it.

Coal burning stoves have been re-invented as wood burners, do you think the old Princesses have a future as something other than an example of what not to do??!!:)

Is there a way to highlight text taken from another post, similar to the

–

that we could use in the MM forum, or something similar??

 

Edit – Ahh I see the quote ( in square brackets) and /quote ( in square brackets) does have an effect, just not the one I expected!!:D

Hi Lee – just a quick question for you – On the Tab in my browser, and other ones too, it shows an icon of a sheet of paper with a folded corner.  Is there anyway a picture or logo could be there?? That was a minor irritant with the MM Forum as well, but there was no inclination – or opportunity – to get it changed.:(

Also the url’s in the address bar are missing the www – I just tried to link to Forumite’s home page from my MM Sig and had to add it.
