More info on this processor range has been discussed on THIS topic, you’ll find it on the last four pages of 12 at the moment.
I have recently been converted to LastPass and have found it very useful. A whole load of my ( and the wife’s ) commonly used UserName and PassWords are on here, and the master password to this and a lot of lesser used logins are in an A5 book that is an old telephone index book with alphabetized tabs.
Should I pop my clogs unexpectedly, SWMBO knows where it is, but I suspect our son could extract the information without the help of it, if needed.
Liking the blue bar between posts – makes the reply/quote/edit easier to see, and it is brighter than the grey. :good:
Post number, while not very important, would be easier to read in black than yellow.
Thanks for all your work over the last few days, Lee.:-)?
My son was telling me about this type of thing. A huge amount of it went over my head, ( as does a lot these days 🙁 ). He researched it for a job interview he was going on. It’s called “Big Data” and it can correlate practically anything you want it to. It really p*sses me off when the wife goes looking for something on Ebay, and is shown reminders that “such and such” is still available from three other sellers, if she hurries. That “such and such” was going to be a surprise present!!
I initially shied away from Billions, in the first instance the ads were too “in your face” for me. A friend said they were engrossed by it, so I gave it a second chance. We watched it as a box-set, enjoyed it and we are already into the second series. We did the same with Suits, and binge-watched three series.
Being an old phart, I grew up getting a weekly fix of whatever, be it Doctor Who or Dallas. These days, I quite enjoy watching a series when I want to. That might however be more down to bad memory and convoluted plots than anything else.
There are also some series that just run their course – the CSI’s, the Law and Orders, there are after all only so many versions of plots that can make appearances across them all.
Also on a 24″ monitor, but I much prefer the wider version. The wider layout puts more on the screen.
This is on my desktop.

Probably – Lee had a tinker to get the mobile side improved, maybe this was an unexpected side effect.
When I read the title, I thought you were referring to the fact that the poster’s name is missing from the updated info to the right, – Freshness Column – on the Latest Replies page, after the Forum “update” last night.
No John. One machine with two monitors. At the moment and for 10 years I’ve have ran them the tradition way, but this just thinking outside the last night. I am planning a new set up for the lads room.
Same here. I’ve got 1 (19″ TFT ) monitor just for Thunderbird and another ( 24″ LED ) for browser etc. That evolved from needing to answer business e-mails promptly. :good:
Are you trying to get two displays, with separate desktops, out of one port?? If so, I think the HDMI splitter ( or whatever ), will only give you mirrored desktops. If you need two separate desktops, you’ll need two cables. ( Edit ) – or as Dave says daisy-chain a Displayport.
However I think the wife has changed the washing power as all my coats seem to be shrinking ?
That’s more likely to be either where you’re cooking for yourself, with the missus away, or all that Indian food!!:w00t: You may well be expanding out of your clothes.:( I know, because my XL frame has just become XXL and it’s all down to my love of good food.
Surly being the first gen Hudl it is to old for him to fiddle with. I’ll get my coat……
Here’s your hat, what’s your hurry??!!
@Richard – a wiring loom problem?
With nothing else to loose I may don the vinyl gloves and go on the attack when my hand has recovered from today’s procedure.
Intermittent wiring problems are a b*tch. Is it a proper wiring loom, or a more recent style data bus system?? If the former, first try everything electrical, to see which works and which doesn’t. If there is a common point for two faults, there’s a good place to start. Back in the Seventies, the windscreen wipers and cigarette lighter socket shared a common fuse, so a dodgy cigarette lighter, or one pushed too hard back into the socket, could blow the fuse and leave you without wipers and/or horn as well.
The new Data Bus ( CAN ) type wiring is something I’m unfamiliar with, but HERE seems to give a good explanation.
Good luck.:):)
-On the AVG support site, someone sorted this by disabling the “AVG Do Not Track addon for Firefox”. Check if this is relevant to you.
Also, it seems that LogMeIn ( from AVG?? ) can cause problems, it needs white-listing. On-Line Shield can be de-activated to resolve this as well. But you need to contact AVG as per THIS post. I don’t know whether I would let them have remote access to my PC though.:(
You’re welcome Bob.:):)
I’ve always pronounced it poofay, as I thought that it came from the French, ( always sounded a bit Hyacinth Bucket though ) but your original thought for the spelling, got subverted and went down an entirely different path.
On checking my spelling with Google it gave a pronunciation icon that gave it as poofee.
John – This was a problem for me about a year ago – I was using W7 and FF then as well, but have since moved over to Chrome and W10. Kaspersky support gave me the solution that I’ve copied below. It should solve your problem, just replace the Kaspersky element with your own AV programme.
In case this issue occurs when using Firefox, please perform the following steps:
1) Please enable hidden files and folders display.
In Windows 7: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/show-hidden-files
2) Launch Firefox and click on the menu icon (the three-stripe symbol in the upper right corner) > Options > Advanced > Certificates > View Certificates > Authorities.
3) Find the Certificate “AO Kaspersky Lab. – Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal Root Certificate”.
If found once: Click on the second line of the entry and delete it by clicking “Delete or Distrust”.
If found several times: Delete all entries.
If there is no entry, proceed with step 4.4. Close all of your browsers // Important Step //
5. Open up Kaspersky. From the left hand corner, please click on the Gear Icon for Settings.
6. From the left hand list, please select ADDITIONAL
7. From the right hand list, please click on NETWORK
8. Under the “Encrypted Connections Scanning” please select “Advanced Settings”
9. Click on the Button INSTALL CERTIFICATE. Proceed with the Instructions, click on NEXT.
https connections should no longer be interrupted now.
It worked for me. :good:
It’s also a problem that the castor surface gets grit embedded in the surface. The problem is then made worse as the grit wears the surface down or breaks it up after repeated scratching.
I had one of those chairs, until the wife put her back out in it, and it had done the same to our laminate. Less of a problem as we were having the floor replaced when the extension was built.
I replaced the chair with one of the carvers from the dining set. More inconvenient, but less damage, – to the floors and my ears!! I put felt pads on the bottom of the legs and all these have done to the engineered wood floor we put down, has been to wear the colour off the top, this has been very effectively sorted out with a wood stain diluted in a little meths applied with a cotton wool pad.
On the old forum there was a topic about plastic floor protectors that went over the area concerned. Not pretty but very effective.
