When the Internet drops, I get ‘Conneted: no Internet’, with full access still to my local devices.
That’s what I get on my Xperia Z3C on Marshmallow – but the wi-fi is fine ( full signal ), desktop access to the internet is fine, but when the phone is on the lottery app or similar, it won’t connect to check the QR code on the tickets. I’ve Googled the problem to no real avail. :negative:
@ricedg – Dave, that’s an awful lot to pay!! I’m on an identical package ( except you’re fibre ) for £65.89.
3 Mar – 2 Apr
A month in advance
Box Sets – including discounts£30.40
Sky Broadband Unlimited£10.00
Sky Talk Line Rental – including discounts£14.99
Call Diversion£2.50
Sky Talk Anytime Extra£8.00
Free items
Sky+ SubscriptionSky WiFi
Caller Display
Total£65.89I called up and waved TT under their noses and they dropped it down by £15 iirc.
That’s an interesting price to pay for the TV package, – does that include Universal, Atlantic, Fox etc??
Check how much you actually use of your included allowances, even £10 a month might be a waste of money if you only use a fraction of your allowance.
Over the last few months it’s been between 250MB and 400MB, it gets used on speed camera app, googlemaps, plus loads of small background app usage, so that’s not too bad. There are things that I just don’t do at the moment, such as streaming films or music when I’m out for the day, so with the data roll over that issue will become irrelevant. I could also stream music from my phone through the car’s system without added cost.
The old adage is very true in this situation – the more you have, the more you use. I’ll be saving £15+ and getting more out of it!! Bonus:) :good: :yahoo:
I’m looking to go Sim only sometime soon. Our contract with EE is about £27pm for u/l minutes, u/l texts and 1GB data ( no roll over for unused data). Been mulling it over for some time, but the other night SWMBO asked about whether we were getting good value. It was research time.
I see Sky has an new offer for their TV customers – sim only, 1GB data that rolls over for 3 years, free u/l minutes and texts, all for a tenner. The Z3C is coming out of contract next month and EE unlock it for free, so it’s only 2yo and does all I need it to. The only cloud on the horizon is the cost of new phones, but from watching here, things like the Swift @ £150ish solve that one.
Now mobile calls are included in our landline plan the mobile gets a lot less use, mainly just when we’re out and about.
Is anything HERE any good, or is it what you’ve already tried. It does say there’s an on-line form.
Welcome.:)
@edps – Ed – when you say root, do you mean the start/whole of the Topic itself, as opposed to the reply within the topic??
If that’s the case, then if, when the post is displayed, you look above the top blue bar you’ll see something like
“PC Talk › Tesco Mobile › Reply To: Tesco Mobile” if you click on the first “Tesco Mobile” it takes you to the whole topic.
If I’m mis-interpreting root, please ignore me!!:)
The only time I see ads on Gmail is in the wife’s account. I split her inbox to display three tabs – primary, social and promotions. It’s clear on the primary, but if she looks in the Social ( FB Notifications ) or Promotions ( Groupon/Amazon/M&S Sparks ) tab, in between the tabs and the emails there are 2 full width, one line dialogue boxes with ads in – they display the same as an email title.
I only use “inbox” and don’t see any.:)
???
Working well and looking good, Lee. The change of the “greyed out” section under the “This Thread for Forumite Changes” topic from cream to pale blue, is more in keeping with the theme, as is the “Forum Statistics” at the bottom of the page.
The green search bar is more visible now too.
I have solar panels and the meter goes backwards on very good days. No way am I having a smart meter.
Lets hope your not with NPower We’ll be installing Smart meters in all npower customers’ homes by 2020. There’s no need to contact us, we’re doing our roll out in stages and we’ll tell you when we’re ready to replace the meter(s) in your home. My meter stops and thinks about it’s next move, on very good days.
John – it doesn’t matter which provider you use, they aren’t compulsory, – you do currently have the option to refuse one.
I found it about 20 mins after I asked the question! I went to update the post but the server seemed to crash. Then I forgot. Lol.
?
I had the same problem when I got my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact as my next phone after my old Nokia N8. If memory serves I transferred them either by Bluetooth, or by THIS method, can’t remember now:(.
If your open to suggestions Lee, is there a search bar, wile I was away I wanted to update the thread on Westworld, and I couldn’t find a search bar to look for it, and couldn’t be bothered picking through the forums, as I had no idea what forum it popped up in. I do tag my threads, but last week was the first time I wanted to look for one, and found o couldn’t. Or at least could search out a search bar.
@sgb101 – It’s there Steve – recently improved by Lee – it’s a blue bar just above the icons for “Who’s online”, below the topics on a mobile, and above the same icons to the top right of the screen on a desktop. :good:@admin – maybe a different colour to differentiate it from the other blue bars/tabs??
Hang on, neither Steve nor I have touched this Topic! Are you inviting us to have a go at it?
I was born at a tangent. No, don’t ask…
? Perish the thought:) – anyway, I was talking historic, not Topic specific!!:) – that’s a few “ic’s” too many in one sentence. Sounds like I’ve been on the sauce!!
This is true. I’m always open to suggestion. What about sending sgb and bob on some sort of anti-tangent course ?
They’d only just have started out on the journey to the course, and would have ended up somewhere else!!
Fair point, but maybe Ryzen does warrant a thread on its own. We tended to throw the kitchen sink into the ‘Does anybody still Build?’ topic.
It wasn’t a critique as such, the poster had literally only just joined this forum, so wouldn’t necessarily have seen the discussions already undergone on Ryzen. I was just pointing him there.?
His house, his spare bedroom. I couldn’t afford the lecky bill.
Know what you mean – we afforded our gas and leccy much better when our son moved out.
He’d come home from school and change into shorts and T shirt, turn the stat up on the central heating, get too hot so he’d open a window ?, go upstairs and play a game on his console in the bedroom, come downstairs and switch the TV on, then onto the computer for a chat…………………….. by which time we’d come in from work to the heating full blast, windows open, lights on all over the shop, TV playing to itself, Game-on-hold music chortling away, and he wondered why we went ballistic!!
However when he moved into his own flat and got a £500 quarterly leccy bill, he suddenly became Scrooge overnight!! :yahoo: Justice:)
It’s about time you converted the loft as a games room for him. :yahoo: he needs room to expand his empire!!
Hello TT/Teafie ?? and welcome. What took you so long???
