I think they’ve missed a trick, not turning the fox on the globe so that the tip of the tail became the tail of the Q.

Are you using the mobo connections or off a graphics card?? Have you tried a cheap graphics card?? Using the card’s driver might correct the problem.

          Mine’s off the mobo.

I see it’s your VGA screen that’s working. Have you tried another HDMI cable at all?

I’ve got last year’s version of that Zoostorm computer and mine works fine with 2 displays,  ( VGA and HDMI as it happens ) so yours should too.

EDIT – just re-read and saw the “working in Linux” bit, so ignore!!

There was a whole 8-player band in a passageway between shops for a few weeks, but I think the foreign gentlemen involved, realised they were not making enough to go round. Haven’t seen them for a while.

They were probably saving up for the train fare to London!!!

Just updated to 57 and it has now called itself Quantum.

Liking the look and it feels snappier than before – I have to admit to having been converted for daily use to Chrome when FF slowed down. The only reason I kept using FF was for a Free Tetris tab I kept open. Great little version of the game that brings back memories of wiping the floor with top scores on my son’s GameBoy.

If you’re lucky, the rivets will drill out and you should be able to replace them with self tappers. They’ll need to have a shallow head, ie not deeper than the rivet heads.

I’ve been checking Virgin out recently and they are offering a 2Gig Sim with rollover, 2500 minutes, u/l texts for £5.00pm ( might be standalone or part of a BB deal, not sure). That’s half the price of Sky and twice the Data and it piggybacks on EE’s network.

I’ve always been suspicious about the bags, also some of the vans that collected them – they should at least be modern, and certainly sign-written. I tend to drop excess clothing off to the shops themselves or the wife takes them in when she volunteers at the shop.

It looks as if something is going to be done about them – how effective that will be in the long run is up for debate.

Looking round on-line, there are a few resources:-

                        http://www.ndcs.org.uk/family_support/communication/sign_language/index.html

The NDCS looks to be pretty good and has a section for getting help from local authorities, including a section for Wales. You need to sign up ( no pun intended ) with an email and login to access the info.

I seem to recall when I was volunteering for MENCAP a few years ago, they offered something like this as part of “Personal Development”.

                        Good luck.

I’ve had no issues with Sky – I have their ADSL Unlimited service. I went back to them after a short ( cheap, but uneventful ) contract from TalkTalk.

My contract is up later this month. I want to go fibre, ( don’t need to, just want!! ) but annoyingly, their offer is for a basic fibre package which has a 25Gig limit on it, so I’d need their next one up. This makes it more expensive.

We’ve just had Virgin cable up the village and surrounding areas, so I might check out their packages. I’ll likely stay with Sky for my TV, as we tend to watch programmes on the channels that aren’t available elsewhere. I’ll be trying to leverage Sky to give me a better deal.

On a similar note, I’ve just had renewals through for my house insurance and RAC cover. They’ve both gone up hugely over the last couple of years with me not paying attention.

The RAC wanted £274 for Personal Cover x 2, plus Roadside Recovery, Recovery and At Home. I phoned them and moaned about the cost and suggested cutting back on the cover.  I told them I wanted Vehicle Cover x2, plus National Recovery and At Home which the website showed as £138.99. They offered to maintain the existing cover for £162.01 – I accepted.

Buildings and Contents insurance with the Nationwide had gone up to £647 over the last few years ( one claim for lightning damage, back in 2014) – and as my Car Insurance with LV is up for renewal, I thought I’d check with them as they offer Discounts for more insurances. Got quoted £300 for identical cover, so when it comes round for renewal next month, I know where I’m going!!

@dwynnehugh leg of Lag? I am guessing that is meant to say lamb.

THIS  one doesn’t like it. ( The ” Rock, Paper, Shotgun!” name appealed!! )

THIS one seems to agree with most of your points.

………. bits of trees flying all over the place and the car feeling like it was going to take off.

Know that feeling well. Back in the ’87 storm, driving into London at 5am, I was overtaken, whilst doing 60mph, by a wind assisted, pallet sized cardboard box.

The wife’s allergic to wasp stings as well. She now carries an emergency kit with her most places. Anti-histamine tablets, steroid tablets and the Epi-pen.

About 20 years ago now, we were working on the stall and she picked up her coffee cup, just as one crawled out over the rim. It stung her. We could see it was getting worse despite the anti-histamines she took as the “red” was spreading up her hand, then her arm. We just slung everything in the van and went down to the Hammersmith Hospital.  As we were driving the red was spreading up her arm and to her neck, and her lips and eyes were getting puffy. I dropped her off to a nurse at the entrance to A & E and parked the van. By the time I’d got into A & E she was on a trolley and on an adrenaline drip!! They’d totally by-passed triage and took her straight through.

The consultant asked how it had happened and helpfully suggested she change profession!!

Regarding the wind, we missed most of the visuals but copped for a very choppy ride through the Bay of Biscay.

Thanks @planeman I have gone for the next one up from what you first recommended, Link.

That’s the latest version of the one I bought June last year. Mine’s got the i5 6100. Other than that it’s the same. Has been super reliable for me and handles my 2 screens 24″ BenQ LED ( HDMI ) which is my main display, and an old 17″ monitor ( DVI ) for my email, without any problems.

Sorry for late reply, only just got back home from holiday.

Looking at it logically, it’s impossible. The shadow on the right hand end is to the left ( middle ) and the shadow on the left hand end is to the right ( middle ).

Having said that, my first reaction would be like Ed’s, slam on the brakes and wait for it to be lowered.

It looks like a typical suburban/village road. If, as they say, 18.6 mph is simply too high for the narrow residential streets, maybe they should introduce bicycle only areas!!!
