No, I dislike political corruption in all shades, whether via monetary gifts or post-event speaking fees. In my ideal world all politicians or public servants would be subject to regular audits of their and their family’s wealth both in and out of office. I’d throw the book at them Singaporean-style including seizure of all assets for any detected anomalies or questionable off-shore arrangements.
In my mind new MP’s are just Non-Executive Directors in waiting!! I totally agree with the oversight perspective you state above. Signing permissions for that process should be a part of every MP’s application form/vetting process!!
Thanks, I will check them out. Yes I also wondered about Jason and Aaron
Contact info for Jason HERE.
For use as an internal pain-killer or external anti-septic?????
……. I have a few spares incase the one the nurse applied comes loose.
I found they stayed on really well – ie they survived two baths. I used to use elastic bandages to stop my trousers “rolling” the edges. Not a lot of help on your ar*e though!!
That’s crazy!1 Bright sunshine here, but mild, 7 – 8, with the prospect of some strong wind from the south-west later on. Drizzly, moving forward, but double figures through the weekend and next week.
Didn’t take too long to get there in the end.? Well done guys!!
Was the helo invented when you was in bob?
or was you still using gliders
It was Leonardo Da Vinci who designed the first helicopter-like machine. I know Bob’s cracking on a bit, but that was definitely before his time!!???
One of the things that I use when the “scar on my leg where the bone came through” plays up and ulcerates is something called a “HydroColloid” dressing. These are expensive and hard to find a pharmacist that stocks any, but mine ordered a box of ten, sold me five, which covered his cost and kept the rest. They are available from Amazon.
They look like a large blister plaster, ie thin gel-like and they come in all sizes – I use the 4″ x 4″. I wash the skin area with saline solution and pat it dry with a towel, then apply the plaster straight on to the skin. After three or four days the area of the gel directly covering the wound turns milky and it’s time to remove it and check. If it’s not OK, I literally rinse and repeat. If it is OK I then use a similar size Mepore dressing for the next few days and it’s usually healed and all back to normal.
These can be used for any open type wound that leaks or ulcerates because the gel contains it, instead of it leaking onto, and becoming attached to, a fabric plaster and pad which re-opens the wound on removal.
Try HERE . Or I’ve seen some heavy duty plastic bags with a cleaning product that does the same job.
, genital acceleration …………………
I tried that once, in a car, but never bothered again. Gear lever got in the way.???
Yep – standards are pretty low in the achievement tables nowadays – I wake up in the morning – that’s an achievement!!
Or a bonus???!!! ( depends on the wife being in a good mood as well.)
Just been out to check the front – first customer due later after two dog-free days. The car windows are clear of ice, as is the road, car itself is clear of snow. Temperature is about 3 or 4 and the only slip factor is when you move too quickly on the melting mush – it compacts and then becomes slippery – the pavement and gutter are similar.
Expected temps later is 4 or 5 with some drizzle, then light rain. Hopefully back to normal tomorrow with the wind moving to the south.?
Edit – just have to hope the drains can cope!!!
Oh no don’t tempt me How about a topic about topic’s What has a hazle nut in every bite ,
Squirrel cr*p??!!
Just went out to try and get to the GP’s surgery for an appointment. The front patio looked no different to yesterday. First clue was the slide/crunch as my foot went further forward than the rest of me, then went through the top layer of ice to yesterday’s snow. Second clue was the thick layer of ice on the car windows instead of snow.
I think it either drizzled overnight or the temperature eased enough for the top layer to melt and re-freeze. What looked like clear roads from the front room window, was in fact an ice rink.
Edit – looking at the forecast, today will be the last day of zero and below for us here. Tomorrow starts at 1 and rises to a balmy 7 or 8 on Sunday!! WooHoooooo!!!
Lee – is that 1000 that you can see as Admin?? I would imagine there are some that were practice posts in the beginning, plus some deleted or spam.
Us mere mortals have got this total showing above the Black ribbon:-
Viewing 10 topics – 1 through 9 (of 993 total)
Have you got radiator foil between the rad and the wall. This makes an incredible difference to the heat that’s put into the room and not lost heating the wall outside.

More HERE – 3rd picture down.

Edit – trying to put a picture in but forum software removes it on posting.:(
Back garden after this morning’s dusting. It’s been a bit blowy, looked very blizzard like, even without a great deal of snow falling.
Yes, that’s right and I agree, totally stupid. I was referring back to Bob’s comment about “snow shovel and boots and thick socks ready by the back door” and was telling him to wait until it had finished dropping, before he starts clearing as iirc he does for a few infirm neighbours as well as his own place.
We had a dusting overnight, about an inch on the front patio by the cars. Similarly on the roads, but as the day drew on, come lunchtime, the roads were clear when I took the wife to the gym.
A client picked up their dog early today as they had set out for work in London at 5.30. Got about 25 miles in and the roads – M2 – were getting worse, so he turned round and got back here about 11 o’clock. News was showing the M20, next step along his route in to London, more like a car park and even worse than what he’d been through.
The snow has stayed on the garden throughout the day and at this moment in time ( 11.30pm ) there’s an extra dusting coming down and settling on top of this morning’s snow. We’re due some hail in the next hour, and light snow through till 4 o’clock. Let’s wait and see what tomorrow brings.
Like Bob, being on the East coast, we’re copping for it first, as the weather front is coming in from Siberia. The North will get the worst of it tomorrow afternoon, so don’t be clearing those paths until it’s stopped, Bob, or you’ll be out doing it all over again later on.
