That’s always a pig when that happens – it really p*sses me off. It used to happen loads in the van – people seemed to care even less with them.  We’re you adjacent to standard spaces or in the middle of other disabled bays??

Good luck with Asda – let’s hope their cameras aren’t just for show!!

I’m on Gabapentin at the moment – it was prescribed by the one GP I’ve seen since getting the shingles. It was partially effective, but on a re-visit it was upped from 100mg to 300 mg and it was a godsend.

The co-codamol that they said would do, was just not cutting it – the GP said co-codamol was good for muscle/joint pain/toothache/headache but no good with shingles which attacked the nerves, so a nerve painkiller was required.

Bob – I know what you mean re autism, we went on a course some years ago and it was explained to me so :-

If you tell an autistic person “Hang on a minute!” You’ll likely get an answer “ What do I hang on to and must it be exactly 60 seconds?!!” That course was a real eye opener.

I’m down in South East Spain at the moment and I’ve been driving a Fiesta ( 17/18 ). It’s adequate, but I wouldn’t call it comfortable. It’s smooth enough, but getting in is easier than getting out, especially with the high kerbs I’ve been seeing.

It’s a case of plant your feet and lever yourself up and out with your elbows!!

I was sitting in a bar the night before last and the footy was on the TV. Everybody was getting over-excited I wondered who was playing. Once I found out it was Liverpool I was going to post and congratulate Steve, but the hotel had crap WiFi!!

I tried this out initially as I needed a credit score for a mortgage, I thought it would do. It basically serves as an ” easy access portal” to Equifax.

It’s sole benefit is it is free. I have had quite a few ” Loans specially prepared for you” type emails – I unsubscribed and thy appear to have diminished, if not stopped.

I queried with them some missing accounts and incorrect numbering of the account shown and this was their reply:-

              Hi John,

Thanks very much for your email.

If some of your financial accounts seem to be missing from your report, this may be because:
              • They appear under a different company name
              • Your lender does not share their information with Equifax (some don’t)
              • Your account is new and hasn’t been added to your report yet. If an account has been recently opened, it may take up to 6 weeks to show on your credit report while Equifax waits for an update from the lender. Keep checking your report regularly for any updates.
              • Your account is registered under a previous address and you are yet to update this with the lender. If you have recently updated your details to your current address, this may also take up to 6 weeks to show on your report
              • If a current account is missing and doesn’t have an overdraft, it may not be considered as a ‘credit account’ and so may not show up on your report.
              • If the account is more than 10 years old, it could be missing from your report because it is unlikely that the credit reference agencies will still hold this older data.

If you suspect something is incorrectly missing from your report, you can either contact the lender or you can fill in a dispute form to get this corrected with Equifax directly: https://www.clearscore.com/dispute

I would also like to inform you that your income, savings and assets do not affect your credit report, score or the validation process.

Also, savings accounts and other investments will not be displayed on your report, as we only show accounts with credit facilities.

However, we do show current accounts that have an overdraft facility, such as mortgage accounts, credit cards, and loans etc.

Further to your query, I understand that the account number showing on your ClearScore report is incorrect.

It’s important to note that there are occasions where account numbers need to be encrypted for security purposes, and so won’t match the actual account numbers you have on your card or statement.

This is a security measure put in place to minimise the chance of your details being obtained fraudulently.

If you recognise the other details on this account, such as the account provider, opening date and the payment history, it may be that the account number has been encrypted in this instance.

If you don’t recognise the account, then you’ll need to dispute this with Equifax. You can do that here: https://www.clearscore.com/dispute

I hope this clears things up for you.

              Many thanks,
              Kaksha

They also quoted this to me in an initial reply to my query:-

              Hi there,

This is the ClearScore team. Thanks for your enquiry.

This is confirmation that we’ve received your message and we’ll look to get back to you as soon as possible, usually within 3 working days. In the meantime, you may want to check our FAQs and help content to see if your question has already been answered: https://help.clearscore.com

              How ClearScore works
It’s important to note that ClearScore is not a credit credit reference agency, and lenders do not use ClearScore to carry out credit checks on you.

We provide you with access to the credit data that Equifax hold on you, which banks and lenders will use when assessing your credit worthiness.

Lenders will not be able to see how ClearScore is showing your credit information to you. So if there is something not quite right in how we’re displaying your information, this will not have any effect on your credit worthiness.

              That about says it all.

A little better every day, but nights are the worst.

Not in the same ballpark, but I know exactly what you mean. When the shingles was at its’ worst I survived the day on painkillers, but suffered the night trying to sleep. Like you I spent more of the daytime asleep in the armchair.

It’s all good, but being out in the fresh air helps hugely. At least the sun is co-operating. Best of luck, Bob.

Yes -it was sunny here today – nipped out to the pharmacy this morning and where the car had been closed and in the sun I was tempted to give the A/C a quick blast, the sunroof actually dealt with it nicely. When I got back home, I checked the conservatory, for the dogs, and opened a few of the windows for the first time. Here’s hoping!!

Richard – The alley itself ran parallel to the High Road, between a side street and another main road. The view in picture 1 has been improved vastly, but remains essentially the same. The view from picture 4 has been replaced by a house that featured on a Grand Design build. HERE. It was an ugly concrete mess, but it only replaced a row of 15 garages. Might be prettier if he cleaned the windows and painted the roof line fascia!! It shows how close to house/gardens the fire was.

All along the High Road were shops, with 2-storey flats above – one of which was mine. The fence that you see wrecked, next to the car, was the back fence to those. Along the side street starting adjacent to the alley were houses, similarly along the other main road.

The oxy-acetylene tanks – plus a couple of carts with smaller tanks – were placed into a makeshift paddling pool constructed from tarpaulins and milk crates by the fire brigade. Had this not brought their temperature down, the Police and Fire Brigade were considering evacuating the block.

Think I know why, I copied them into the post from Google Photos, which I have pretty tightly tied down.

I used the phone camera to take a photo of the original photo, uploaded it to GP and copied it from there, so it was probably permissions ( or lack of ), although Steve’s viewing contradicts that.

Copying them from the phone this time, so here goes.

                                Hopefully fully visible.?

Unfortunately, no insurance on that one. It was a Reliant Scimitar, V6 (Ford) 3 litre.

It was bought after having a minor front end shunt, by a mate that repaired accident damaged cars. His garage was just behind my old flat in East Finchley and I used to help him out with electrical work and he returned the favour on my cars. ( No that’s not me in the picture, it’s another guy that worked in the garage.)

He had not long got it running again with the ( fibreglass ) bodywork all done, but it was mis-firing. I’d checked all the electrics and all was fine so the next check was fuel – possibly water in the tank. He had it jacked up at the back and was removing the flexible fuel pipe to drain the tank into 2 gallon containers. There was a static spark ( no wiring there at all ) and it caught. He came out with his dust coat ablaze. We put that out and then dropped it off the jack and pushed it out of the garage into the alleyway. Called the Fire Brigade and stood well back.

That would have been that if only he’d disconnected the battery, but he hadn’t. Something burnt/shorted/whatever and the car started hopping forward as the starter turned, I don’t really know how, but it was going back into the garage, straight toward two oxy/acetylene tanks. We had to get back in and push it back out again, luckily by this time the Fire Brigade had arrived and took over, but there were several bowel-clenching bangs as various bits of the car succumbed to the fire.

Just about anything, in most cars, has the propensity to explode – given the right temperatures and conditions.

Glass windows shatter from heat then blow out from pressure. Tyres give a good impression of an explosion after the tyre melts enough and the super-heated air inside finds a weak point.
