It made me chuckle when I heard a report on the news that they’d closed the factories down to clear some of the pollution out of the air in one of the cities – Volgograd iirc.?

@wasbit – my desktop is permanently connected to THIS – it uses Radio Player, which itself has a vast variety of stations for all tastes.

My bedside alarm is also tuned to Gold on DAB, we get a pretty good reception here in Thanet. It doesn’t drown out the wife’s snores overnight, but masks them sufficiently for me to sleep!!?

It annoyed me hugely about 3 or 4 years ago when it disappeared off Global’s playlist for Kent, but it re-appeared about a year later!!

Ebay seem to be trying – just not doing a great job of it – to sort out the dodgy bids/rep they’ve acquired, justifiably or not.

I’ve recently had 2 cases where Ebay have emailed me stating the “The eBay listing you’re interested in is no longer available ” after supposedly  successfully purchasing each of them as a “Buy it Now” – one was for Calvin Klein boxers, for a family member without an Ebay account and the other was for a W10 Pro license.

The boxers didn’t arrive and I’ve raised a case with Ebay, the seller of the W10  Pro license refunded my money the same day.  I might have kept that one anyway, but in the email he sent me, there was a section with this:-

          Windows 10 Pro official download:
          https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10ISO

You can use http://www.froggie.sk to change language

The froggie/sk part concerned me as it was from back in Vista times ( and some postings on the Microsoft website indicated it was dodgy ) so along with the removal it didn’t warrant the risk. Fair do’s though, he was quick in refunding.

It’s the first time that Ebay has done that and it hasn’t make me lose confidence as such, but it does focus the mind.

Edited to re-highlight text which got lost when posting reply.

@bdthree – Lee, I have been using the search function and while it returns the results OK, only some of them are a clickable link. Others are just text in boxes.

As an example, I have been looking for a link to DaveR’s Ebay W10’s. Using “W10 Pro” gave me three clickable links ( Forum Topics ) in the first three boxes, but the others ( Forum Replies ) were just dialogue boxes with the phrase included.

Not important, but as Tippon said, maybe relevant or a pointer.

            Result page HERE

Thanks for all your work on here – good to see business is still coming along nicely!!

I have opted into Googles dead man policy. If I don’t login to my Gmail for a given time (sent mine to 3 months) . They will email your chosen recipient (wife for me) , and give them access to all your Google stuff. Within the email is my lastpass password, and instructions for ”what needs doing” given I’m probably dead. Basically it a bit of financial stuff, and access to all the family photos. Each year Google email me, to check I still want to be in the system, also it acts as a good reminder to update any info within. Its defo worth setting up. Official name is inactive account manager. https://myaccount.google.com/u/0/inactive

Steve – thanks for that reminder. You had mentioned it before and I had meant to set it up, but it had been forgotten among all the other day to day carp!! It’s a very useful way to get info across to our son in the event……………..?

If ever we get a dog that isn’t drinking enough in the hot weather, we get a bit of roast chicken – we always have a box full in the fridge for treats – and drop a small handful in the water bowl. They know it’s there and no matter how hard they try just to pick out the meat, there’s always a good amount of water goes down too!!

I always thought the words was ” thunderbolt of lightning, very very frightening…. “

                  BoRap lyrics:-

I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango
Thunderbolt and lightning very very frightening me
                  Gallileo, Gallileo,
                  Gallileo, Gallileo,
                  Gallileo Figaro – magnifico

My son for years thought the chorus line to “In the Air Tonight” was “Hold on” as opposed to the correct  “Oh Lord ” – in fact he used to call it the Hold On song!!

Currently showing on a line from Aylesbury to Coventry and Derby to Stoke-on-Trent.

                    See HERE.

It was supposed to be here in Thanet from 5pm till 11pm tonight but there’s been no sign of it and the forecast shows nothing about it now, also tomorrow but that’s now showing for Wednesday.

I was lucky enough to be able to drive myself in for my sessions, with no ties or dependencies. I can see how it impacts in your situation and you have my sympathy and best wishes.

The long day would start with the second antibody, followed by a 2 hour break between infusions that I used for lunch, then the long drawn out chemo finishing after the nurses’ shift had ended leaving just the one nurse who stayed late and me in the MDU. I would often get home after 8.30 pm after the hour and a half drive.

The reason it was long and drawn out was because they had to slow things down following my dodgy reaction to the first infusion. They started the flow rate slowly and increased it gradually.

Wishing you, your wife and family all the best throughout.

Just been looking at Google Maps and it offered me the chance to install Android Auto so I have. I’ll give it a try and see how it does. It’ll be interesting to see if it replaces the TomTom app or supplements it!!

Super happy with the car so far, will have to keep an eye on the speedo though, it really wants to go.

My TomTom Speed Camera app performs that function for me!! It’s set up to  pair to the car when the ignition comes on.

                          Enjoy the car!!

Don’t wait until something comes through your letterbox. Phone either the hospital or the parking company and tell them what you’ve written here, telling them that if they look at the time stamps they will see that you didn’t have time to park.

Be pro-active and get in touch. It’s always harder to fight it after the fact.

iirc you had a post, either here or on MM about a dash camera – do you have one and was it running?? If so that’s evidence to back you up.

That’s a similar treatment regime to mine for the Lymphoma.

I’d have 2 anti-body treatments, first one in the afternoon and second on the following morning. A quick lunch at the Marsden cafe then a chemo in the afternoon/evening before driving home. It actually took just long enough for me to miss the rush hour journey home.??

That was only for six sessions – one a month – followed by a 2 year maintenance of one dose of the anti-body every two months.

It was however brought home just how vicious the chemo could be by spending the days with fellow patients in the Medical Day Unit.

Good to hear things are progressing for you – long may it continue.

EGR as a system works fine, so long as it’s all accessible.

Mine were sticking and bringing up an engine light last year. Parts were about £200, but to replace them cost me over £1200!! In their wisdom MB had placed them beneath the exhaust manifold but facing the bulkhead!! It was an engine out job!!

If it hadn’t been for the fact that it went into “Limp home” mode, I might have been tempted to leave them. There are lots of discussions on car forums about whether they’re good or bad or necessary.

The wife’s been watching it and I’ve just been listening to the American preacher and the Gospel choir and this image of John Belushi doing handstand cartwheels down the aisle of Windsor Chapel kept flashing through my mind!!! The wife thought I was mad for laughing at that tender moment.

Someone should also tell Camilla to hide her face behind a hand because her bemused look was just too much!!:)

John – a sometimes forgotten USB socket is on some modern TV’s. While Dad may not have one, there’s also THESE which can easily do the job too.?

Nice one JayCee I will get this if your sure it’ll do I do have this for my mobile but Alan said They are not compatible.

John – I’ve just googled “huawaei phone charger” and got THIS as the first hit. It looks identical to yours. As the write up states the output is 5v / 2A. That should do a stand-up job of charging your shaver.

Alan might possibly have got confused, because I think he’s referring to the photo of the BaByliss for Men charger plug ( 3v ) that Bob posted as an example of where to look for the info!!

John – looking at the review for that shaver, I can see that it came with a lead that plugs into the shaver at one end and has a standard size USB plug at the other.

Something like THIS will do for you. The shaver is charged by the USB lead ( 5v ) and most appliances will just take the amount of power they need to charge up the battery. The guy even says he uses a PowerBank to charge it – it takes 8 hours to provide a 45 min use.

I have one of  THESE that I use – I think Duke and PM use them too – there are three sets of ( 2 ) USB sockets, one set has a 1A output, another set has a 2.1A output and the third set has a 2.4A output. They are for anything that takes the 5v USB power, from a mobile, to a tablet, a SatNav, to a Vape battery, to a battery charger for re-chargeables.

If you have a 13A plug that has a USB socket on the body, that is all you need. I got one with the wife’s Kindle, my Sony mobile, and various others.

Cheers, Bob. Yes I’m doing fine currently. Only suffering from a residual hypersensitive tingling over my back and sides from the shingles.

My thoughts are that they tried to go down the cheap cream route instead of the expensive, but effective, anti-viral tablets. The cream did nothing and when eventually they concurred with my ( and the pharmacists ) argument in favour of the anti-virals it was too late to prevent it going wild across my back and around my side!!
