@bdthree – Lee, I’ve just read this Topic and on returning to the Topic page and refreshing, it still shows as unread with the black vertical bar on the left hand side.

Edit – it cleared when the topic moved to the top of the list.

      Cheers

      John

A lot of places have started taking a much more sensible attitude towards it. My Missus vapes for England, mostly at home, but when we have gone out, more and more places just say there’s no need to go outside. Common Sense at work, for once.

…..if you ever need to bait for rats, although they have generally learned to avoid the ‘green’ and useless poisoned seed, mix it with peanut butter and they gobble it up, even better in a sandwich! (tip from a New York Metro guy I once knew)

The same unusual, quirky nibbles goes for the alligators in Florida. They love marshmallow. We were told this by a Park Ranger and we thought it was a wind-up, but they really do. Dropping a couple of 1″ cubes 10 feet off the boat, it was hilarious to watch them stealthily approach them and then snap they were gone. You’d have thought they needed toothpicks after, but they always came back for more. That’s one hell of a sweet tooth!!

If that was to try and keep people focussed on the Topic at hand, you might find that it makes little difference to the meandering flow of the Topic!! We are only human after all!!??

Looked for a whistle, or a tongue-in-cheek emoji but failed☹.

              Edited for font effect.

The biggest problem round here is the “atmosphere”!!! Bl**dy farmers are muck-spreading and have been for the last week or two?? it can get eye-watering!!

The other problem we get is round-about related. The seaweed comes in onto the beach and stays there, hot weather follows, stinking beaches follow!!

According to an older friend that has been resident here for decades the farmers used to go on the beach, collect it and add it to the fields at the same time. Some bright twonk at the council thought they could charge them for the privelege, so the farmers stopped collecting it. Fast forward to current times where the Council now has the duty to remove it from the beaches and has to bear the cost or pay contractors!!!! You couldn’t make it up!!

Did you really want them knocking on your door at 4am?? ??

It’s probably down to delivery areas, certain postcodes delivered via certain depots – don’t look for logic, it was designed by humans!!?

Pretty please, can we please have at least half an hour of the rain, heavy if you like, but as wet as it comes.

There you go, a bit of rain ?

No, Lee, the real stuff. I thought my monitor had an infestation, till I saw the regular pattern.

Not heard of them, but 91% of their reviews ( out of over 200 in the last 12 months) are 4* and 5*  – that bodes well for any company.

I looked on Ebay and found the same stuff you’re looking at – HERE – they give a comprehensive detail and explanation, along with the fact that ebay shows over 10,000 sales. They also offer a telephone helpline.

I don’t think you can go wrong and if I needed some, I would definitely get it from there.

I’ve given up on gloss paint for that very reason. I now use Dulux Diamond Satinwood Brilliant White. It’s been excellent here durability wise ( and I’ve used it in our rentals ) and also on the non-yellowing.

There’s an interesting post HERE which cites the EU banning additives as a cause – an easy jibe, but I have to admit my head was going there already, before I read that.

It’s a shame BigDaddy doesn’t visit any more – ( he said that health was becoming an issue on his posts ) – he was in the paint industry for most of his life, closest to an expert on the MM Forum.

I suspected that would be the case PM – thanks for trying for me.

They’re missing out as TTSC is my go to driving app – the one that I always want working – it’s accurate, simple to read/use, includes your average speed through the average speed camera’d sections of roads/motorways, gives accurate information about the length of the traffic jam you’re sitting in etc, etc, it just keeps on performing.

Having said that, I did like the integration of Android Auto into the in car display along with the option of Google Maps or Waze. I preferred GM because it already had a lot of my contacts, destinations etc, from where I check things out on the PC.

Edit – that’s moot at the moment, as I’ve now got my car back along with a very big bill this time around!! I will be bearing what app works well with what display as I’m looking to PX it next March/April when the new reg’s come out and there are a lot of 2 or 3 year old trade-ins around.

I generally use Google Maps overlaid with TomTom Speed Carmeras, and the phone itself connects to the in-car stereo via bluetooth.

I’ve just come back from a cousin’s wedding and have been trying to integrate Android Auto, which it did in the 18 plate loan car that I used. The only problem was that AA needed a phone connection to update map/progress and when it did that it obliterated TT Speed Cameras from the phone screen and just displayed Google Maps  ( or the option of Waze ) on the integrated car screen and an Android Auto “label screen on the phone.

How do you set up Google Maps “overlaid” with TT Speed Cameras??

Edit – I’ve got it overlaid on the phone screen, but AA just takes over the in-car screen. Was that what you meant, or did you get TTSC onto the car’s screen too??

Thanks Dave – that looks great. I don’t see myself needing the AC, the N will do nicely. I’m only going to get 36Meg fibre, and I can run a cable up from the router into the loft and then down onto the hallway ceiling. That should give me a good spread of coverage.

It would be adjacent to central heating pipes, but I can run it to the loft inside a 20mm plastic conduit.

The Sky website wanted to charge me for Sky Q, but I’m happy with the Sky+HD box and the old hub. As I’m a VIP Diamond, I get free installation and delivery. We’ll see what they can do – if not there’s always TT!!

I’ve been looking around to try and improve my wifi signal. I thought that THIS would help, but it didn’t really. What I need is a good wifi signal in the main bedroom to stream Sky Go, Netflix, NowTV and Prime onto my iPad Pro. Also in the spare bedroom for when the son comes visiting.

I’ve been looking at the Netgear Orbi – an expensive option – or some combination of a Powerline link to a wifi output ( not found anything that looks like it will work together yet.)  This would be placed in the loft ( directly above the bedroom ) and I reckon that would give me a very good signal all round the bungalow.
