Why do you need to highlight it Lee – don’t you have the “Check the spelling of text fields” ticked??

It showed English and English US, so I thought it already knew the difference. Installed English UK and the option to spell check in English UK came up.

Realise (UK) now shows correct and realize (US) shows wrong.

        Cheers Lee.

Couldn’t see Scotland on that list.??

There’s just a few EU countries, but folk say they’re headed off that way, so they can be un-barred temporarily.

Strange – I’ve tried two methods, one add on spell check for Chrome and one change in the Settings/Advanced/Privacy and Security/Use a web service to help resolve spelling errors – Smarter spell-checking by sending what you type in the browser to Google ( not sure about that, it sounds bad, but they’re getting it all already anyway!! )

Neither have any effect on dodgy spelling in the Reply to Topic box.

I have closed all Chrome tabs and pages and opened them afresh.

In the Languages section on Settings, there is a spell check option, but only the English (US) is usable, the English (UK) is greyed out. That actually works, so will have to do for now.

Now that is working, I’ve switched off the web service option.

Our son was 7 1/2 weeks prem and they had all sorts of problems monitoring his heartbeat. In the labour ward, the ‘belt’ monitor kept slipping off the lump and when he was out the wires attached to the pad were dodgy. The nurse was trying to re-connect the wires using scissors, but kept cutting, instead of stripping. All this time the wife kept asking why she couldn’t hear the heartbeat on the monitor, with voice and panic levels increasing. I told the nurse that I was an engineer, took the wires and scissors off her and reconnected them. Beeps back on line. Got a strange look off the nurse and a big thanks off the wife!!

Welcome back John. As said above, nothing is more important than getting better ( not just back on your feet, there’s a difference 🙂 ) Good luck and take it easy.

I thought that the unacceptable face of capitalism had been cleaned up. I was obviously wrong.

How else can the Conservatives stay in power without the support of these people ( and I use the term very loosely ) !!

It’s a Doc Martin clone and they weren’t sure it would be suitable, but they managed it (the raise is basically a wedge in the heel).

Does that make your calf muscle ache on that leg at all, Dave?? Years ago I tried a pair of very fashionable Chelsea boots, with a platform sole and a chunky raised heel.  They killed me for about 6 weeks before I gave up. I truly do not know how women can wear stilettos!!!

Ended up going for the 630 model, should arrive tomorrow.

Good decision – that LED light will be brighter and the red flashing light is a bonus.

The never model 620, over the 600, is a fiver cheaper. Not sure if they took somthing out. Bit is do a compare if I was buying.

Steve, that one has a needle dial and the compressor shakes so much, you end up making a 3 -4 psi guesstimate. The LCD display is spot on!!

THIS is what I’ve been using for the past two years. It’s basic, but fully functional. Used it a lot over the period because for some reason, even after putting new tyres on, there’s a slow release of pressure. I’ve looked too see if it’s a badly seated valve – it wasn’t.

It just works. I plug it in the lighter socket, set the pressure to a couple above, and I’ll check it again in aweeks time. Pressure can be set in memory, adapters for footballs/inflatable beds and splash pools etc, multi flash light – on/flash/sos – it’s been brilliant and only just bigger than a hardback book, comes in a zip case.

Dropped mine into the water by a waterfall in Thailand. It was the ‘Matrix’ Nokia 7110. Leaning over a balustrade to take a photo with the camera and as I did, it slippped out of my shirt pocket. I looked down and watched it fall 15 to 20 feet, bouncing off the rocks and then splashed into a rock pool.

That was one interesting insurance form, as was the conversation with the Tourist Police to get the “Crime” number the insurance company wanted!!

That’s fantastic news, John. All the best for the days and weeks ahead. It’s an awful lot to take in at any one time, so ask the doctors if they can put all their recommendations in a letter. It’s much easier if you can get it all in letter form, than trying to remember a conversation/lecture given you when you were felling like sh1t!!

                                      Good luck.??

If, by standed wire, you mean soft copper strands wrapped around a cotton core, in BT, we used to strip the insulation down, but leave some insulation on the end, otherwise it was like trying to trap the breeze, you couldn’t. This was laid over the plug and got crimped. This isn’t always feasible with some plugs needing the wire poked through a ‘tunnel’ and then crimped.

It all depends what you have got or are going to get.

I don’t know what the button is for on the right, if you have  get one please tell and maybe if you get it to stop clunky thump.

Will do. Things are all on a schedule here at the moment, once the front wall is finished we’re getting the lounge floor sanded and lacquered.

Then the computer desk, then the chair. The en-suite is the one room we have hardly touched in 10 years and now needs re-furbing.

We’ve changed the window, next the old tiles off the wall, then it’s in with a new bath and suite, new floor, lights and extractor.

One of the garden sheds ( our old beach hut ) needs moving to the back of the garden, so while the guy’s doing the front wall we’re using the cement mixer to lay a solid concrete base for it, raise it off the floor on some second hand scaffold boards split down the middle. Then it and the other sheds need staining. Once that’s done it’ll be time to start on the garage.

                                            It’s nice being retired……………… isn’t it??? Mightn’t it be??? One day!!!! Please….!!
