I wouldn’t bother with just-eat, I’d go straight to the porn sites and register him all over them. There’s likely to be more nasties for the unwary on them. Just hope he clicks some unsavoury and dangerous links!!

Have you sent them to an SD card at all, or did they just go there when transferred? I’ve just connected my phone via usb and the picture/music folders marked “internal storage” are empty, the corresponding folders on the SD card contain them. I think I told the phone to store them there away from the android system like I do on the PC.

Travelling down the East Coast is correct – last night we had hailstones and heavy rain – put paid to all but the hardiest early firework idiots – I thought this year the firework festivities would be limited to the long weekend, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. It seems not!!

Again this morning has been cold and drizzly, but some real heavy hailstone showers. just nipped down to the diy shed and bought some paint for the en suite, some of the back roads were flooded in parts, well a good 6″ of water.

@planeman If Bob doesn’t take you up on that offer, please put me in line for it.?. I’ve been looking at the G6 but the G5 is a smaller step up in size so might suit me better.?

              Cheers

Your head and mine are in sync somewhat!! I’ve been researching and I like THIS one. Recently dropped £20. ??

I do a lot of researching, but never have that spare cash to follow it through. Still, Christmas is coming…!!

I’ve been looking around this price point and have been keeping an eye on the Moto g series, initially at the G5 currently at the G6.

Similar performance, but I’ve not been keen on Nokia ever since their debacle with Microsoft a few years back. I changed my old Nokia for a Sony and it’s still going after 3 years.

Drezha should be able to give you a good rundown of the G6 (Plus ),  he’s had one and just changed it for a Pocophone – see HERE .

Edit – forgot to include the GSM Arena comparison between the Nokia and the G6 HERE .

Amazon have it similarly priced to the Nokia HERE

Les – there’s a good few examples of prices in THIS topic. It started out as 120GB, but the new cheap norm has gone to 240Gb.

It’s worth a read for price points and a few good links to SSD forumites have used and still are at the core of their systems.

I got a 120Gb some time ago, but had to compromise on some programmes staying on the spinner. It’s almost cheap enough now to have a 240Gb SSD for the OS and all programmes and a 240/480Gb for all data with backups going to the spinner.

Edit – forgot to add that Dave will probably recommend a NAS for backups – again prices coming down, but that might have to be Tamara’s Christmas pressie, if you get the hint in early enough!! Good luck.

The most important thing is not to succumb to temptation ( or let the Missus ) as that big number soon disappears.

I made that mistake when I took redundancy from BT back in ’93. It went on a few major DIY projects at the house, bought a couple of timeshares to make our holidays easier, had a conservatory built at Mum and Dad’s so when Dad got ill, he could still sit in a favourite chair and watch the wildlife around their 2 acre gardens etc, etc. £56k went nowhere constructive ( for our future ).

When the wife took her pension we bought two buy-to-lets and have a good income off them while they increase in value.

In hindsight I wish we’d done something similar back in ’93, but it’s real easy to think you’ve won a lottery!!

It’s a tough decision, whether to go on working somehow and hold off on the pension, or decide to start your retirement now. It’ll all depend on your wife’s situation ( working or not ) and perspective, whatever she has in mind for herself – and you!!

                      Good luck with your decision.

I was thinking about Bob when I saw on the news about the Historical Investigations Unit and the problems it has been causing for ex-servicemen of the time who served over there. A local guy ( officer, I think, who talked about the effect on the the men under him, has sent his medal back to be given to Theresa May. HERE.

Here’s hoping we hear from him soon – maybe the Internet will be back ahead of schedule. I’ll wager he has been getting his fix through his mobile – courtesy of his grandson – but I know I hate to post on the mobile, permanent finger trouble on the smaller screen. It’s easier on the iPad, but I do love my keyboard!!??

If you look closely, it’s not a bike that’s labelled under bikes…

Gotcha!! you are correct – on closer inspection – when a bit more awake – that isn’t muck of a bike at all!!?? At least not one I’d like to either ride or park!!

It’s not just Google that needs help – there’s no photo there ?

Link to image works for me? Both signed in to and signed out of Google.

Doesn’t work for me either. It just gives a “thumbnail of albums” type view. Eight pictures labelled screenshots, sky, bikes, mountains, skylines, cars, bridges, food.

Maybe it’s auto-logging you in. Try it from an ‘incognito’ window.

                                  Ed, is that 22 + 22 + 22 + 22??? or is that stretching it too far???????

Not far enough unfortunately. But I’m still 22 at heart, its just I can no longer see the rest properly without my specs.

Well you come across as younger than that, also some of your projects obviously keep the mind young, even if the fingers have trouble keeping up!!

Having said that, I think a measure of truth is required in birthdate/age on social media sites such as this. I would not want anyone to think that I was a 16 year old dolly-bird. A 22+++ years old male will do as a tag!

One thing I will tell you is that every similar one I’ve done so far costs less than 3 separate BB connections. You always need to look at costs of ownership vs upfront; there’s a reason why Wilkinson Sword does razors cheap and blades expensive ?

Wearing my landlord’s hat, I can see why he may baulk at the cost of the installation. However, if they were mine, I’d look at the overall cost ( as Dave says ), but I would then think about the cost of a fast fibre connection – to serve between three households – wait for Dave’s bill to come in, look at that total cost and apportion it between the tenants, thereby supplying them with Broadband added to their monthly rent.

                                          For example :-

Average BB Fast Fibre £40 per month   =   £500 per year or £1000 for 2 years.

Installation costs                                         =   £1500 ( probably excessive, but just a random supposed figure )

                                          Total £2500.

To recover costs over 2 years – £2500 divided by 72 ( rental months ) = £34.7. He could add £25 to their monthly rent and recoup costs in 100 rental months ( just under 3 years ), or add £20 and recoup in 125 rental months ( just 3 1/2  years). After that he’d only have the BB cost to cover and would be £500 divided by 36 rental months = £13.889 which is clear profit per tenant per month.

He’d also get more interest when it comes to getting new tenants with that included in the rent.

He could ( should ) play neutral and just cover the cost or he could look at a better service to all tenants along with the chance of a profit. Win/win.

If it’s W10 causing the problem, the details below might help. I thought it might have been caused by a W10 update as all browsers were affected and more than 1 machine meant they could both (all ) have been affected by a dodgy W10 update.

How to Fix Windows 10 Screen Auto Refresh
