Cheers guys – so far I’ve installed klite, which installed Media Player Classic. That has played so far, Lord of the Rings, an old 2006 DVD, Butterfly on a Wheel, plus a music DVD, The Eagles – Hell Freezes Over ( bonus on this one, it was an NTSC American DVD).

Glad to have access to these, and others, again. 👍👍

I’ve been saying for years now that I, as a Labour voter, have been dis-enfranchised by JC and his Momentum cronies. I will not vote for him/them. They represent the worst of what we thought had been put behind us with the advent of New Labour.

If nothing else, Tony Blair was both electable, and re-electable. Had he kept our nose out of Iraq ( and his out of Bush’s backside )  things could have been so different.

Since his demise as PM, it opened the door to Momentum, and look where that has got us.

PS where’s the DONATE button gone? I used to have a SO for you.

It’s still being dealt with by Lee, I think. In another topic he said we would have to re-do PayPal as he’d taken Forumite donations off his personal PayPal and allocated a PP account to Forumite itself.

As for the button, it’s the Smiley Face on the right hand side of the Blue Bar, but it doesn’t go anywhere currently.

Cheers, Lee. I was worried at first, then saw the message on the dummy page.

Thanks for getting it back up!!

On the advice of his accountant ( yes, son, I’ve heard – and used – that one before ) he’s just splurged out on one of THESE .

I don’t imagine he’ll have any hold ups on his coding etc for work, and even fewer on his games. He’s heavily into VR at the moment, it seems.

My daughter is very vegetable averse. When I make cottage pie or bolognese I grate in the carrot and celery and it physically disappears when cooked.

Onions and garlic have a very bad reflux reaction on me these days ( when I was younger, I couldn’t get enough of them, eating raw onion in cheese and ham rolls, and I would have garlic bread for toast in the morning!!)

For a bolognese, shepherds pie or stir fry these days, I keep packs of frozen leeks and peppers to provide a tang. These give the same flavour, without the problems.

The wife loves chicken and fish and lamb, but isn’t over-fussed by beef or steak.

I love almost all meats, with chicken at the lower end and less so fish ( except proper beer battered fish and chips ).

When she makes a shepherd’s/cottage pie she uses half mince and half quorn mince or a similar meat free version, there’s loads around these days. I honestly can’t tell the difference, but my cholesterol certainly can.

She says that since recovering from the Lymphoma she wants to see a rainbow of vegetables on my plate – I tell her not to bother, but it won’t kill me to eat them, and may just help with avoiding that very scenario!!

It’s likely some may have gone through a similar situation, or a version of it.

Richard, iirc has had dealings with the legal profession on family/inheritance or power of attorney issues so may have an insight.

It’s easy to say, but hang in there. When you’re living through sh1t it seems like it’s never ending, but 6 months or a year down the line it’ll just be bad memories you came out the other side of.

All you’ve done from inception to this point has helped keep us ex-MM’ers together, and much kudos and thanks for that.

Fully understand that paying work is your priority, and am glad there’s some around for you.

The You! comment was more about my crap memory than a nudge to you, so in your time. There’s enough here to keep us going for now.

Menu selection ( three bars ) are there on the correctly sized blue bar on the iPad. That leads to a drop down menu as it should – Cheers Lee.

On the PC the blue bar is there along with the drop downs. ??

With the You! is that there to remind me who I am, in case I forget?? – a strong possibility these days!!!??

John – by menu do you mean the three bars, or the long blue bar with forums, news, ads, social, etc.

If you hover your mouse over the word forums, you’ll see a drop down box with lots of options, – latest replies, latest topics, new topic etc.

Is that what you’re looking for?

I just hope our Xperia’s batteries last at least another 3 years.

I bought my Xperia Z3 Compact back in June 2015, I replaced it with Nolan’s Moto G5 10 months ago. The Sony has sat on my desk and been charged occasionally, last time a month ago and switched off. Just turned it back on and it’s still on 100%.

They seem to do quite well.

Caught a glimpse on my main setup, something about a download limit reached, needing to access a link to “expand” limits and rights, or similar.

Presumed the news feed was proving popular and needing a contract, therefore money.

On a brighter note, fixing the double load problem has also corrected another annoyance – all my posts so far [#touchwood ] have been submitted without a need for taking a copy/paste in reserve in case it failed.

                                        Top man!!

Edit – just a thought, previously with the “Who’s Online” when I hovered the pointer over an avatar, a dialogue box popped up with the name of the owner, useful for people who don’t recognise all of the avatars, but also for regulars who might not have seen one before, or one that is shared between two or more forumites.?.?

Sorry Lee – just seen this. That’s absolutely it. Just checked and the cache on the iPad still had the oversized bar, but on refreshing it went to normal size and works fine. Thanks.

Hi Lee, I’m accessing the site on my iPad, and when I have it in landscape mode, the blue bar across the top is about five times the size of when it’s in portrait mode.

On some screens, buttons are hidden by it.

Only really usable in  portrait mode.

Also in landscape mode the four buttons (on the blue bar ) don’t work properly, either showing a garbage box or direct to wrong page.
