Hope everything is going well for them, or at the very least, under control.

Ditch Corbyn and run with ******** would be the wise move for Labour

********** Insert any option here, for more chances of success.

Last night on Peston saw John McDonnell ‘joke’ that Lisa Nandy could step up and fulfil the premise of a female Labour leader.

It also saw Sajid Javid doing the ‘Always look on the bright side of life’ dance, instead of answering questions!!

Anything that happens from now until the GE eventually occurs can be blamed on “the other parties”.     Indeed anything they do to thwart anything that BoJo now tries to do will simply make him stronger come that GE.     I truly don’t see anyway out of that for “the other parties”.

Anything that happens from now until the GE eventually occurs is going to be designed by the No 10 team to make Boris look good. He’s primped and fluffing at the dispatch box and already starting the hustings. Any decision he makes, such as pushing for 3 days to ratify a Bill, gives him sound bites from the opposition that he can beat them over the head with come election time.

They know one is coming so they are preparing the ground they will be fighting from.

Best for the country be damned, it’s what’s best for the Conservative Party and Boris.

          Anybody seen a decent opposition party?? – I haven’t!!

There wouldn’t be an EU boarder with Scotland JCD because the EU has said they are not interested in having an independent Scotland in the EU. More trouble they cold do without.

It was both rhetorical and tongue-in-cheek, Graham.

Unfortunately Screaming Lord Sutch – 3rd Earl of Harrow has been elevated to a far higher plane (June 1999) so we will need to seek other trustworthy worthies.

Yes, I remember that – I just needed an appropriate name for my contention that followed, that linked the Lords and the Commons in general stupidity.

If Labour had Andy Burnham as leader I would certainly vote for them, as he has done wonders in the ways he has fought for improvements in Manchester, and would be infinitely more trustworthy than Johnson

              Likewise.

On a side note, if Scotland did gain its Independence, would we just re-instate Hadrians Wall as the ‘border’ and would that satisfy the EU, or would we need another backstop?? Also would the Houses be rid of Scottish accents ( discounting SNP ) as there seems to be an inordinate amount of them from all camps.

I’ve noticed this more and more as whenever Ian Blackford stands up, I reach for the mute button on the remote.

I think that Labour are increasingly isolated

I think that should be “….I think that Labour have increasingly isolated themselves.”

They couldn’t have done a better job of scuppering themselves had they tried. They’ve done the Tories job for them.

My current quandary is who is going to get my vote when the GE finally comes.

                1. Labour – not so long as Momentum has their hand up JC’s jacket. Come back New Labour/Tony Blair – all is ( almost ) forgiven.
                2. Conservative – no way – short term memory is still functioning!!
                3. LibDem  – who could admit they fell for/believed that what was in their manifesto would be implemented.
                4. UKIP/Brexit Party – one-trick pony, after all you wouldn’t put a David Beckham/Gazza in charge of a bank, let alone a country, just because they were top class footballers.
                5. Greens – I agree with their aims, or at least the concept, but another one trick pony.
                6. Screaming Lord Sutch/ Raving Loony Party – that’s almost descriptive of the whole Parliament currently in situ.

It’s going to be difficult to decide.😓

Perhaps, the EU should listen to Ed and realise they are dealing with ‘The Mendacious one’.   😂

The problem is that there’s so much spin coming from Boris’s camp ( and everywhere else, these days, ) they’d tell you that ‘mendacious’ was a way of describing an audacious man – and half the country would believe it!!!🙃😋

Did anyone see Hancock on Peston try and explain how Saturday makes No Deal more likely? Obviously he couldn’t because it doesn’t. They seem to have given up on that one today, it’s back to Boris man of the people.

Half the time now, any Conservative Politician asked for an answer, could be replaced by a quick chorus of “Always look on the bright side of life”!!

Having said that, one of the first programmes for a long time, yesterday’s Politics Live, had me listening to what was being discussed, without looking for something to throw at the tellly!!  It was actually a discussion of viewpoints and prospects without getting bitchy, evasive or repetitive. Tom Hugenhat, ( Con ), Lisa Nandy, ( Lab ), Tom Newton-Dunne ( Sun ), and Pippa Crerar ( Mirror ). They all seemed to respect the others opinions and even came to some consensus on the way forward.

According to THIS , if yours  is the SFF, then the four on the front are likely USB 2.0, the four ( blue ) together on the back panel, are USB 3.0 and the other two ( black ), together on the back panel,  are USB 2.0.

When I bought the latest car, I looked at a possible EV version. Loads of problems ensued.

                          1. It was overpriced by comparison, heavily so.
                          2. They were under-specced, ( petrol versions were similarly so ) compared to the diesel. High specced EV and petrol cars were as rare as rocking horse poo and carried a premium of £2k over comparable diesels.
                          3. As Tippon alluded to in his post, the most benefit will be had by those with solar panels, and yes, you’ve guessed it, the Government dropped the incentives to get people to have them installed.**

The end result was I now own a highly specced diesel, that suits my needs. Overall mpg for the last 6 months and 3000 miles  of mostly short trips from 2 – 20 miles has been 41.5 and a 200 mile round trip ( 80 mile motorway, 15 m A road and the last 5 around Kingston and Roehampton ) gave me 51.2 mpg.

**Once Brexit is over and done with and the Government can get back to its proper job I look forward to the inducements to go electric, car and solar, in order for them to meet the zero carbon target by whatever date it is that they decide on ( Government flavour dependent!!) – I may then at that stage re-visit my auto choices ( lottery dependent!!)

One of the things that I like about Sky mobile plan is £6 a month for unlimited calls/texts and 1Gig data,  new customers start at £7 pm and 2Gig data, but any unused data rolls forward into a piggy-bank, which can be used to boost a higher usage month or get rewards.

Perhaps the MPs would like to do what people with real jobs and a tight deadline have to do, work all hours until it’s done.

I said that back when they broke for the summer recess and all went off on holiday ( for how many weeks?? ) . Keeping them at it would have focused minds on truly resolving it. Then they could get back to what was obviously more important to them!!.

Interesting new option from MS – the opportunity in future to re-install W10 off the cloud. It just came in to my Windows Insider Inbox  – thought I’d opted out of that!!

I was wondering the other day what if ‘Yes, Prime Minister’ was still churning out new episodes with the old cast, how would Sir Humphrey have described the current position with Brexit?

Were it on TV these days, it would probably be re-titled “You cannot be serious, Prime Minister!!” – shades of McEnroe!!

There is very little new under the sun!

As evidenced by NEW YORK . I can remember in the 60’s and 70’s watching Kojak and the like  and wondering why the pavements were ‘smoking’. When I found out what it was, I couldn’t believe that ( or a version of it ) hadn’t been adopted in greater numbers by  cities across the world to supply heat or whatever else could be resourced from the energy.

During the Extinction Rebellion reporting last week, there was a report where a councillor from Leeds was talking about their waste facility.

                                        Info HERE .

I was impressed !! Pumping steam/hot water into the city centre – how many of those nasty boilers will that replace?!!

It’s the sort of thing that should be rolled out across the country, benefiting local people ( and Councils and Environment ) instead of going into the pockets of Corporations. Win, win.

The radioactives and other non-inflammable nasties such as Chromium end up in incinerator ash – its always interesting to know how/where they dispose of that!

I was very skeptical when I arrived home to see these boxes and was informed it was a 3 pice suite of ebay. Less than a grand all in. I thought it would be crap. Best one we have had, and by for the cheapest. I’d of never of agreed to an ebay couch, not liek I could off took it the post office to return it lol.

That’s me too, but we knew the make we wanted – G Plan – had sat in the various models in Fenwicks, so the only toss-up was fabric or leather. Either suited me, but the wife was bouncing between one and the other, for multiple reasons, but decided on the leather as most practical for her ( messy ), any dogs that might dare to try it out, and overall durability.

Personally, I think she just wanted a change from leather, that we’ve had very happily for 40 odd years, but then convinced herself on the practicality stakes!!😀😘

It then became a case of where to purchase and the ebay store won out on cost/value, for what was, effectively, a new branded suite for under half price.👍👍
