What was that film with the HEX. Kate Bush used a sample in one of her songs: Its in the tress, Its coming. I like that film to and especially the village of the Damned.
Quote from Wikipedia:-
The versions worldwide differ slightly: the US single mix included an additional chorus just after the second chorus. The words “it’s in the trees, it’s coming!” heard at the beginning of the track are sampled from the British 1957 horror film Night of the Demon and are mouthed by an actor from the film, Reginald Beckwith,[2][3] who plays a medium channelling a character played by Maurice Denham, who provides the voice.
👍👍
Thanks Ryan. Bloody clubs, I’m a member of loads now…..🤔😁
Well, you wouldn’t want to be a member of the Billionaire’s Club at the moment, would you????!!!!🙃😋.
Having said that, though, I always thought Labour were in favour of coddling and supporting Minorities!! 150 in the UK – that’s one hell of a minority!!
Cheers for that link- I’ve been meaning to resolve this on the wife’s laptop. It appeared a while ago after an update – asking to be logged into the MS account before continuing, with no visible way round it. There’s no real point as it’s only a FB, email, Solitaire, shopping ( not buying ) machine.
I’ll hit that next time I’ve got a quiet morning.👍👍
No Worries.👍👍
I do have a VESA mount somewhere, but my current monitor doesn’t support it so it’s not much help now unfortunately!
My old monitor wasn’t VESA mountable, so I got one of THESE. I’ve replaced the monitor since and now have 2 VESA monitors on a DESKMOUNT.
That means the old adapter is spare – if it’s any use to you all I want is postage for it. PM me if that’s of any use.
It’s a bit of a cludge, but it worked well for 9 months or so.
November 21, 2019 at 5:45 pm in reply to: Could the Lord and the Count be King Makers in Uxbridge? #38439[edit] While I agree that some ‘degrees’ are in previously HND subjects (e.g Hair dressing management), the more demanding courses at Brunel vastly outweigh those I would categorize as lightweight. Based on hiring Brunel graduate Engineers in the past, although they tended to be more mature students, their degrees were of value and they generally had significant work experience built into them. I would not lump them in with the general mill of students.
You’re not wrong there, Ed. My son went to Brunel for his Computer Science degree back in 2004. His was a 3 year course, with an option of a 4-year course with a year of work experience after year 2 of study. Despite the fact that he was also doing PAT testing and Network cabling, he also learned a whole lot of other stuff, but just as importantly, about working.
He also learned that you ‘get out what you put in’ when we answered his question about ‘how we would help him through his Uni years’ by taking out a Sunday license and handing over the Flower Stall and stock to him to earn his own money.
He hates the current shambles Parliament is in, has seen the downturn of big company Projects that he could have picked up work from, and holds the uncertainty of Brexit responsible. He won’t vote either Tory or Labour this time round, so is likely to go LibDems. He thinks the whole “Get Brexit Done” has become – and likely always was – just Manifesto fluff and/or verbal diarrhoea.
The immigrants ALL vote Labour until they gain a few bob and move to somewhere posher.
A friend said that it seems most people who start off with nothing vote Labour until they have something to lose, when they start to vote Conservative. Something that is currently massively supported by the statements of the Labour front bench and their upcoming Labour Manifesto.
We could also get rid of the Broadcasters Audience Research Board who compile the viewing figures. Apparently they collect figures from 12200 people in 5100 households. Who are these people ? Do you know any of them ?
They’re probably the ‘stars’ of Gogglebox- that’s one programme where, in my case at least, the adverts were counter-productive for the broadcaster!!
Saw this yesterday and have been watching the forum topic – predictably people getting their knickers in a twist that the BBC dares get involved with SKY, the Beeb’s charter and Mission statement??!! along with the usual license fee woes.
As far as I can see, it’s a collaboration that will mostly be in the background. Nothing earth shattering except the BBC now seems to be getting involved with ‘Big Data’ to assist in targeting ads, trailers and recommendations.
That’s something ( ‘Big Data’ ) that I hate on one level, when I see on one website a recommend obviously taken from my browsing history on another, yet do not mind from within one website – if that makes sense.
I took a half hour spin around the other ‘builds of the week’ and there were some entertaining and really clever mods for some things. The Range Racer and the S600 hybrid were two examples.
Plaid Cymru will jump into bed with anyone if it gives them POWER!!!
Isn’t that like paying it forward – the LibDems having already been screwed by the Conservatives??!! Or more akin to “sloppy seconds”??
Loud-mouth Trump has just interfered in Britain’s election process.
You’d think after his condemnation ( vilification ) of Russia getting involved in his own troubled election, he’d keep his stupid mouth shut!!! If that is at all possible though…………..
Oh well, I see no other choice TBH. The alternatives range from laughable, through impossible, to possibly the ruin of the country. I suspect many more than me will see it that way. Fill your boots Boris.
The problem becomes, being Boris, is if he wins he will see it as an endorsement for both him and the Conservative Party. That will be because a lot of people will have voted his way, due to it being the lesser of multiple worse evils. If you think he’s bad now, wait until he thinks he’s had the mandate from the people!!
I’m sure I’ll make a decision before the vote. But as of now, I have no idea, I’m fed up with the lot of them.
Too right!!
I think that the story of this election, whilst obviously being dominated by Brexit, will be about voters who would normally be voting for Labour trying to find a palatable alternative. 😩
Back in the day I would have gone for an hours ride in a random direction.
I would do almost the same. If the wife/son/council/whatever wound me up too tightly, I would jump in the car, take a thrash up the motorway, choose an exit, then a good run around some country lanes and back on the motorway home. Chilled!!
That definitely kept me civilised at least.😀
👍👍
Not necessarily good news, but positive moves forward for him. Good news about his wife too. His bonus is that his daughter is also veering to the positive. She always weighed heavily on Richard.
Give him my best wishes and we’ll leave him to his retreat, just hoping he’ll pass on progress to you, Bob, to allay our concerns.

Just using it to stream live radio, I haven’t got comfortable leaving the mic on yet – silly I know, sort of defeats the overall object, but my weird mind just expects the day after I get lucky the night before, it’ll remind me to put condoms on the shopping list!!!🙃😫😋
I’ve got mine set up as a bedside radio, they’ve messed about with DAB channels and mine wouldn’t get Gold – it’s now on DAB+.
I read the reviews that said it was a bit tinny for music, but I haven’t found it to be so. I’m very pleased. It runs overnight in the background to distract me from SWMBO’s snoring, I may try to set a few alarms for the mornings, we’ll see how that goes.
The main problem comes when you need to pick it up or move it – switching the mic on or off. It’s touch operated, but very touch sensitive – eg, I switched an alarm clock off, touched the Mini and muted the music. Not the end of the world, but first thing in the morning things need to go just right and not get complicated.😀
For £0 it was good value, but I can’t see myself getting a hub or more. I like the notification it gives me on the phone that it’s still running and letting you turn it on or off.
