Always makes me laugh when the Shadow International Trade Secretary comes on the political programmes, whomever it may be, they never give them an acronym!!!

Actual Birthday  – which was earlier this week – and one for use on web forms and joining websites etc to disguise the real one!!

IIRC on the MM Forum FreakShow was born 1/1/1920 or similar!!

The wife made us a beef and ale pie last night in the pressure cooker. Beef cubed, sliced up mushrooms, oxo cube, half pint of Abbott ale – the other half wasn’t wasted, honest!! – frozen leeks instead of onions, transferred after cooking into an oven dish, pastry applied on top and  into the oven for 20 minutes. Superb.

The left over stock wasn’t wasted either, put in a couple of frozen steaks, mixed veg, sliced up mushrooms and braised steak for tea tonight!!

Is that everyones ip address showing under there name?

If you wanted to let  a poster know about your reply to their comment, by adding the @sgb101 to your reply, the forum used to send an email to the member – The Duke – letting them know about it.

It should happen with this post, letting you know I’ve done just that.

I was surprised to see the extent of windmill deployment in rural USA, their wide open largely flat if slightly undulating plains appear to provide ideal wind areas, they change views but can appear relatively restful and with suitable design not too intrusive.

Travelling from Palm Springs ( 100m east of Los Angeles ) for a long weekend in Las Vegas, in the mid to late 1990’s was my first visual introduction to Wind Turbines, they lined the roadside for most of the journey. At that time, they weren’t Wind Farms as such, just intermittent roadside objects.

They were oddly graceful and somewhat mesmerising. You had to look away to keep safe!!😀

………..so the sea based ones must be doing their fair share as well.

Yes – a very good job of culling the numbers of seagulls!!! No bad thing there!!!

Tried to add a second edit, but I guess it timed out before I could submit, as it didn’t appear.

I was just letting you know that the Read/Unread indicator on the Latest Topics page was working OK, but as you stated above, lacks clarity.👍👍

Hi Lee – cheers for your efforts with this.

Are you still have the issue you mentioned above @jayceedee

All posts now have what appears to be a green exclamation mark to the left of the Topic title. ( That could just as easily be a tree or a light bulb, however………….. that lack of clarity could well be down to these old eyes!!!

Things that didn’t happen ( for info, not adding to your load:) ) :-

                              1. I went to quote from your post in my usual fashion, ie highlight the relevant section of your post and then click the quote button in the post header, it didn’t drop down to the REPLY TO: dialogue box with the quoted section already inserted and referenced.
                              2. You did the @jayceedee thing and I haven’t had any indication of a notification.

Hope you got some decent sleep!!

Ignore number 2, as soon as I posted, the forum notified me that I’d mentioned me.😁

Lee, I’m getting very fed up with every post I make being moderated, and going into a wild blue yonder. If you want me to move to a different forum please say so!

@Ed P, I see your the number one poster, the only one over the 10,000 Forum points. Could the forum software think your spam posting and putting each one  ( or some/most ) up for prior approval???

There’s been some nasty sh1t going round this year. One friend has been laid up since mid-December with what turned into bronchio-pneumonia!! Steroids and anti-biotics have done no more than held it at bay up to now.

I quite like the idea of a fully lecy car, tesla is ount my price range, but I recon I could live with a Nissan Leaf. Though I’d only get one on lease, as I don’t trust the battery tech in electric cars, and wouldn’t want to be left holding one once the batteries start dying.

A few new cars now are quoting a 7 or 8 year warranty on the batteries. They know where people’s worries are and are dealing with their concerns!!

“Been away” topic still shows as unread, even after reading posts, also, clicking on Topic title, it takes you to a “Group” page ( Forumite originals ), with D-Dan’s name messed up around the avatar. Possibly all connected.
