Dave made some great recommendations in the topic for cameras on my front drive. HERE

He’ll no doubt be on sometime, but browse his initial answer on my topic. If Dave thinks that your situation is similar to mine, either he, or I, can forward the email chain we had that included links to all his recommends.

            Cheers, Dave. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Two years is quick for a good hospital to go bad, but it could be a combination of management criteria changing and Covid duty taking preference, with the everyday care taking the hit. Whichever, here’s hoping that senior nurse is keeping an eye out for him.

You don’t get to be a ( top/experienced ) surgeon without either having, or acquiring, an ego. A little bit like the builder sucking air through his teeth before loading your bill, making it sound more difficult than it is, and showing you just how good he is when the job is all done. At least Bob isn’t paying, so all the expertise is `free’!!

Give him our best wishes and tell him we’re waiting to hear back with ( maybe not ) all the details!! ๐Ÿ˜‰ :good:

Remember the spin around BoJo until he got admitted to hospital when it could no longer be denied how bad he was?

Or even when he was in hospital, that he was reviewing all his papers as normal, …………..right up until he went into ITU!!! No worries there then!

………, he has no co-morbidities and heโ€™s not that old. FFS

Actually, he’s 74, morbidly or clinically obese and has been on cholesterol lowering medication. Not necessarily a deadly trifecta, but the risks are higher than normal. Track and Trace for him is going to be revealing, as at the moment nobody is sure how far down the road from getting the infection to showing symptoms he has come, and that is a road well travelled in the company of the White House entourage and his supporters in New Jersey last night. They’ll have a better picture of that in 5 or so daysย ย time.

Lots more instances of stupidity to come, let alone the NYT added revelations likely this weekend.

Researching, it seems the upside down face comes closest, but it is so broad in optional meanings it runs through silliness to passive aggression or frustrated resignation!! Even then, they are modified by context and the personality of the user!!

Watching the coverage on CNN, it’s turning into, not so much a Whodunnit, but Why didn’t they do it. The list of protocols that got ignored, why, if Hope Hicks was feeling rough on Air Force One, returning home after the Presidential Debacleย  Debate, on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning didn’t isolation and testing go into overdrive?? Why was Trump still travelling mask-less, to indoor fundraisers a day later?? It beggars belief, were it anybody but Trump.

Funny, but probably too clever for 98% of the general public.

Likewise with this T shirt from way back in the 80’s/90’s.

                                    Welcome back!๐Ÿ‘

Reading your first paragraph I thought you’d had some relationship problems when you said,

…and then after a further move to my own place a month later

but on reading your last paragraph all seems good on that front, so that’s good to hear that all went as planned, even if your PC didn’t appreciate the relocation journey!!

Looking at my PC today, I thought (That front panel needs taking off and cleaning), then remembered the accidental spare, so swapped out and all is well in the world. Looks like a new machine, too (though I suppose, to a significant extent, it is).

                                    – that sounds about as new as Trigg’s broom!! :yahoo:

Not a lot has changed here, still most of the same bunch of forumites as before. Bob, ( Bullstuff ) has been having a tough time of it – see “Pancreatitis and a new diet” for details. Dave R is keeping us updated on this one. Other than that, work your way through the Recent Topics and you’ll see it’s not changed much.๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘

Checking this out for an answer brings up two concepts and the answer to your question is that it depends on why your isp is throttling you.

You can get throttled ( so to speak ) because you’ve exceeded the limit by the amount you have downloaded, or by the content of what you’ve downloaded. Some isp’s it seems object to some streaming services and when it is discovered they throttle your speed down. Others go by the total amount you have downloaded.

In the first instance a VPN would assist in stopping them finding out that your streaming because when they checked the data they couldn’t identify it as a streaming service.

In the second instance a VPN could only assist you if it offered data compression, which would cut down the total amount passed over your connection, however it introduces an overhead of its own.

Neither is a complete solution to your problem, but may lend a helping hand.

                                      Info from HERE and HERE.

Also, I’ve just had an email from Mozilla about how Firefox now has its own VPN. Maybe worth a look if your throttling is content based.
