It could be that they need to monitor your medication, and have a monthly review date on your record. Of course it could just be that they haven’t seen you for so long that they need to give themselves a reminder to check you over at some time!
When I collect my prescription there is a sheet attached which lists all my medication and has a ( yearly ) review date on it. Due to Covid mine has had a 6 month extension without review – a la MoT!!
every single month since the Govt made repeats 28 days not 2 monthly.
Didn’t know that because it hasn’t happened here, so far. I’ve just now re-ordered 2 months worth of all my tablets via Patient Access, dispersible aspirin, blood pressure tablets, statins and co-codamol. Got the last lot in on the 16th December. Provided I leave it 2 days for the GP and 2 days for the Pharmacist before going to collect them, so far they’ve just been there. I’ll see if it is still the same when I go to collect after the snow has cleared next week.
Despite all this I am not on any shielding list and assume I am in Tier 7 (over 60s) and no idea when I’ll get the jab.
Latest from the BBC News site – HERE Covid: All over-50s in UK to be offered vaccine by May
Had my first jab at one of our local practices at lunchtime today- it wasn’t my usual one, but was still only 5 minutes drive away. The wife had hers done at the same time too. I had the AstraZenica jab ( they did both there ) because of my allergic reaction to my cancer treatment. Surprisingly they also classed my wife’s wasp sting allergy, because she carries an epi-pen in summer, as sufficient cause for her to get the AZ jab too. They wanted us to stay for 15 minutes as a precaution but no immediate after effects. The wife felt a bit light headed and woozy about an hour or two after, but she had a light lunch and went to bed for a couple of hours. All good now. I’m feeling fine, other than a slight headache. Other than that, trouble free. They said the second jab would be about 12 weeks time as the trial data showed that to be the most effective timescale. As Ed stated, the attentiveness, efficiency and caring showed by all was excellent
All round a very well run setup, could only have been bettered at a drive through, one of which has just opened in Whitstable.
Actually it was meant as a chuckle – thought there was no sign of the frog’s legs as they had been eaten.😂 Should have added the emoji first time round.👍😉
……apparently it had worked with frogs legs in a lab. Still no sign of that one yet
Was it a French lab????
I would give their customer services a call and say that you want to leave BT for someone who provides a better service. If they say anything about still being on contract, just tell them being without internet for 10 days is cause enough. That might encourage them to move quicker.
I’ve just been speaking with Sky to report a noise problem on our line, last Saturday it was. They mentioned that I still had one of the original Sky Hubs from 2014 so they sent a new one out to me and it arrived Monday morning. I had the BT engineer out yesterday and they fitted a new Master socket, which seems to have improved the noise problem.
It can be done, but they seem to be dragging their heels on this one for you.
Bob, there’s a world of difference between grieving and just plain missing someone/their humour/their humanity!! I’d finish that sentence off with a “You silly old fool!!”, but I’ve got a feeling that SWMBO will have beaten me to it by a lot more than a mile or even a few decades.
Stay well for now and the foreseeable.👍👍
just switch to another that allows wifi calling.
I checked this out for my son some time back and one gotcha is that some networks only allow wifi calling on their contract phones. :negative: Recent ( ish ) run through HERE
Just seen the BBC news and I think their subtitles have been Trump’d – they referred to the Oxford AstraZenica trial as Oxford ‘extra vinegar’!! Well, it tastes better than bleach, but I think I’ll pass on that one!!
January 15, 2021 at 12:29 pm in reply to: I Thought 2020 Was Not So Good Standby for 2021To Kick Off #66411Sorry to hear of your problems, Richard, it’s understandable that you’ve been ‘otherwise occupied’ and away from here recently. Good luck over the coming fortnight.👍👍
We’ve started to hunker down, more so than before, as what started before Christmas as an improving situation locally, despite a worsening one Kent wise, has just taken a turn in the other direction. It hasn’t hit us personally yet, but we have one sister, ( Southampton ) plus hubby and a nephew who have had it, another niece ( London ) who has had it, a next door neighbour with it and another aunt ( local ) who’s the same age as us who is just getting over it. Her other half was poorly over Christmas 2019 through to February 2020 and we are positive that was Covid as the symptoms were identical, but without tests at that time no-one is sure. He hasn’t been infected/affected this time round.
We’ve cut right down on shopping and only make our visits within the quiet times.
I’ve been taking vitamin C supplements, along with zinc and magnesium for the immune system, which has been useful so far it seems. Roll on the jab!! :yahoo:
One of my worries, regarding the UK rollout has come from speaking to a medical professional from my local GP surgery, that, despite it being the biggest surgery in the immediate district, it has been given the same allocation as two other much smaller surgeries. It also has a higher OAP client base. This is just in the initial run-up for the first four categories, of which I’m in the fourth.
Distribution is key, but getting it the ‘last mile’ and into arms could present a greater challenge than they foresee.
Dammit!!!! Worst possible news. That’s so sad. :negative:
Just when the world needs a smidgeon of good news, another gut-wrenching piece of bad comes along.
Please tell him we’re gutted to hear that. My first instinct was to reply that if we nailed his feet to the perch, Monty Python style, we wouldn’t miss him so much. Bob might smile at that in his usual good-humoured way, but it won’t make up for the fact that we’ll miss him. 🙁
What was happening inside Capitol Hill, with the objections to the election results in the states that Trump lost, is a joke, but what is happening outside – and moving inside – the Capitol is a nightmare of Trump’s making.
The Capitol Police are hopelessly outnumbered, the call is out for reinforcements, but we could well see the National Guard moving in, if the protesters don’t respect the 6pm curfew just announced.
CNN were out interviewing the general public yesterday (Democrats and Republicans in Georgia), asking if they’d heard the phone call from Trump to the Republican Secretary of State in Georgia and if so what they thought about it. All the Dems had heard it and none of the GOP supporters had, with some of them denying knowledge of it!!! Talk about selective hearing/memory!!
Having seen some of the demographic for Georgia Republicans, it doesn’t surprise me that they are anticipating unrest. As you say, your friend is one of the moderates, but still is full of the ‘way out there’ conspiracies. The ‘Backwoods Boys’ adopt a dangerous position as they swallow the BS wholesale!!
This Presidency will echo corruption and lunacy for years to come, as they uncover more details.
Well, considering Trump’s latest phone call, you wonder whether the lights are still on at the White House residence, but no-one’s home!!
I wonder whether a news outlet will be brave enough to show Trump boarding Air Force One today accompanied by Charlie Daniels playing:-
The devil went down to Georgia
He was lookin’ for a Vote to steal
He was in a bind
‘Cause he was way behind
And he was never gonna make a dealAnd the devil jumped up on a hickory stump
And said, “boy, let me tell you what”
“I guess you didn’t know it
But I’m a fiddlin’ bast*rd too
And if you’d care to take a dare, I’ll make a bet with youThe devil opened up his case
And he said, “I’ll steal this show.”
And fire flew from his fingertips
As he rosined up his bow
And he pulled the bow across the strings
And it made an evil hiss
Then a band of Senators joined in
And it sounded something like thisWhen the devil finished
Joe Biden said, “well, you’re pretty good, ol’ son
But sit down in that chair right there
And let me show you how it’s done.”The devil bowed his head
Because he knew that he’d been beat
And he laid the keys to the White House
On the ground at Johnny’s feetAnd just in case Trump wants to run again in 2024…..
Joe B said, “Devil, just come on back
If you ever wanna try again
I done told you once you son of a bitch
I’m the best that’s ever been.”We can but hope!!
That’s a sh*t outcome for Bob. He deserves some better news than that!! :negative:
It’s not so much drain the swamp as drain the treasury!! They’re like magicians, get people to look at the hand they’re waving, but ignore the hand that’s picking the Treasury’s pocket!! They need to get as much money behind them, by whatever means, in order to fund Trump 2024, and finish the concealment of all their past mis-deeds.
As regards the War Room, it says it all when they have Rudy Giuliani as a prominent contributor!!  :yahoo:
Just in time to wish everybody on here a Happy New Year and to thank Lee for his efforts over the last troublesome 12 months. Stay safe all – the vaccine is coming!!👍
John – on PayPal’s website – HERE – they say that the new T’s and C’s are because of Brexit. On Jan 1 the UK will be out of Europe and will need a differing set of conditions.
So long as the email is ‘personally’ addressed, ie it includes your user name, it generally means it’s from them. The ones you have to watch out for are the ones that start ” Dear PayPal user……” – they’re the scams.
My card expired recently and the details needed updating, the email I got was to me – named.
