If this is another post-fact scenario, I’ll probably never recover. Lord knows, there’s enough bull in the world already.
Pre-launch Ryzen benchmarks leaked: http://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-7-1800x-1700x-1700-benchmarks-leaked/.
Clock-for-clock, it’s as good as Intel in single-threaded workloads. Intel has the lead, as the Core i7-7700K is clocked 600 MHz higher than the Ryzen 7 1800X, so in cases where only single-thread matters, the Intel chip may be the best choice, at least until higher-clocked Ryzen models are released.
In anything else, only the 10-core i7-6950X can beat the 1800X, and that’s three times the price and needs an LGA 2011-3 motherboard.
For general computing, including gaming, the Ryzen chips are looking unbeatable. Even the 1700 punches hugely above its price, trouncing the i7-7700K for less money and at nearly a third fewer watts. A decent, full-featured AM4 board from Asus can be had for about £80, and cheaper prices and products are bound to follow.
Of course, these benchmarks may not be real, though they look it.
I use my Dot a lot. Alexa is fun to play with. Lol. 😉
No sure I’ve used that.
Doesn’t happen if you each have your own Windows login. 🙂
If it’s the dog’s swingers, I’ll be building a rig with it, if only to resell straight after. I’m excited.
I truly believe they’ve pulled something special out of the bag this time.
I have two on pre-order, arriving next Friday. Two in case one doesn’t turn up. Also Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Well, the pre-order prices are up. The Ryzen 7 1700 still has the full eight cores (sixteen threads), the full amount of cache (4 MB L2 and 16 MB L3), and costs just $329. And the TDP is 65 W. It’s a 3 GHz part, with a 3.7 GHz boost. The top model, the 1800X, runs at 3.6 GHz, with a boost up to 4 GHz, for $499. The TDP is 95 W. (Put £ instead of $ in front of the numbers and you won’t be far adrift.)
If the figures even remotely stack up, the 1700 looks like a winner to me. How well are the boards priced?
Dave, I wonder if that PayPal setting is an option given to buyers when the seller is new, lapsed, or new to a high-risk category. I confess I’ve never seen it, and certainly none of my hundreds of buyers each month have ever used such an option (so I assume it’s not available).
My apologies for dismissing it. I guess it must be a new option and has never been relevant to my activities.
Regarding the coat, I’m pretty much on the breadline. Quite honestly I didn’t own one until December, when I acquired a cheap one for a trip to Iceland (which was no colder than the UK). I could never justify spending anywhere near that amount on an item of clothing. That’s no criticism of those who can, of course. 🙂
207 euros on a coat? How the other half live! Until December I didn’t even own a coat.
😉
Was that an eBay order?
eBay has many safeguards in place against new sellers or sellers who haven’t sold much in a while, especially when it comes to items in “risk” categories. Phones is definitely a risk category. This means that payments are held in PayPal until delivery of the item is confirmed, the buyer leaves positive feedback, or 21 days have elapsed without complaint. (The suggested “pay after delivery” option in PayPal does not exist.) I expect this is what has happened here. The scammer didn’t realise this would happen and so has wasted his time.
Burton Albion. We were at Conference level about five years ago, now in the Championship. Low down the table, but half a chance of staying up, which I would count as a success, something to build on next year.
All I know about Forest is that a big stretch of the A52 in Notts is called Brian Clough Way — with massive signs proclaiming such — and that if we win our next game, we’re ahead of them in the table. And we are a *tiny* club, just up from League 1.
Very nice. A lot of thought’s gone into that. Super job. 🙂
There are free equivalents of all those tools. No need to pay a penny to anyone. Besides, Windows 10 has full .zip support already built in.
The music stopped a long, long time ago. The only surprise is that there are still people banging a drum.
I pity the poor saps who had to try doing it.
