The clue may be in the title. 😉
Just acquired the new long player from Body Count, Ice-T’s metal outfit. Wow — it’s one of the heaviest discs I’ve ever spun. Full of foul language, of course, but there’s no doubting the passion, accomplished performances, and artistic merit.
I daren’t air it when my mom’s around. She likes Ice-T on Law & Order: SVU, and this might disillusion her somewhat!
I did wonder why my shares in the company had tanked recently (after a big spike).
All three of them. 😉
I’d like a list of types of bucket.
Shiny knobs. We talking about the products or the bosses?
I’m on to the new Steve Hackett (The Night Siren) and Deep Purple (Infinite) now, with the upcoming Hawkwind (Into the Woods) about to be pre-ordered.
Looks like a decent setup. I expect Nintendo will do the same (Sony already is, of course), with a new Switch in 18 months or two years that’s twice as powerful, with existing games and new games both forwards- and backwards-compatible. There’s a lot of sense in such a strategy.
@Dave
I’m really enjoying the Hawkwind compilation. Thanks for putting me on to it. I still think the early stuff is sloppily played (especially the drumming) and badly recorded, but I’ve got over it. There’s some very good stuff there.
According to Wikipedia, the story behind Over the Top is a bit different to the one you recounted (not that the Wikipedia story need be right, of course), but both stories indicate that the piece was improvised, which I guess is the point. A captivating bit of music.
I knew the new Purple was due to drop soon. I’ll grab it over the weekend. Much different to the old stuff but still a good band.
I assume they’re a tribute to Biffy Clyro? 😉
@Dave
Thanks for that. I’ve just bought the Spirit of the Age collection (’76-’84). 🙂
I think Brock’s the only original member, isn’t he?
They were on at the Ramblin’ Man Festival last year, and I fancied having a listen, but sadly they clashed with Airbourne and Thunder and I missed them.
All I hear on Planet Rock are the same few “classics”, so I confess I’ve no idea about the band’s newer stuff. I’ll have a look on Spotify.
CCR did some top tunes. BOC, too — more than you might think. I’ve never really got Hawkwind. Almost everything I’ve heard is very sloppy.
Production and engineering on the Zep stuff was amazing for the time. That’s helped no end in keeping it fresh for a modern audience. Compare it to the sonic mess that is the Hendrix material from the same era.
You know, it was only recently I discovered that that wasn’t written by a member of The Hollies.
Looks like I’m still being quoted out-of-context…
Sorry Jason but yes they can. Adolf Hitler was voted into power by a majority so a majority is no guarantee of being right.
Please see my previous post.
Glad you got to the bottom of it. 🙂
I thought my view on Brexit was well-known, so I figured no wink or other signpost of humour was required. For the record, my post was satirical.
I withdrew from debate on the matter some months past.
