I used to buy via Facebook groups. I stopped doing it, as I found all too often that the items were faulty. It seemed to be a place for folks to offload junk with no comeback.
eBay sales are very slow this month. Not unusual for January. My sales have more than halved. I may have to get a proper job at this rate. 😉
Just eaten one. Pops, bhajis, curry, rice, naan — the full Del Monte. And an Icelandic white pale beer to wash it down. :yahoo:
Did you get yours? I know people with multiple accounts who made a nice sum. I can’t go through affiliate links, sadly.
There were lots of views over the years from people upset that the mag no longer met their individual needs. Most views failed to appreciate the changes in the industry and the needs of the wider audience.
Hardly matters now, though, does it?
I see that Classic Rock, Metal Hammer, Prog Magazine, and TeamRock radio all folded in December (most if not all of them have been rescued, for now). I have no doubt that folks on the forums there know exactly what went wrong and how it could all have been fixed, all without any access to sales metrics, the advertising desk, industry knowledge, survey results, or other insider information.
Aye. There are usually no fees on a cancelled bid or sale.
Regarding negative feedback, only buyers can do that (and usually not if a cancellation has been agreed). Sellers can only leave positive feedback (or no feedback at all).
Not offering delivery will severely limit the price obtained and will put off even most fairly local buyers. A printer can be delivered for only around £7 (hint: don’t use Royal Mail or Parcelforce).
Good lord — nearly £1,200 to build a model car? You’d have to be off your trolley.
Not much in stock at the mo! Got a load waiting to be listed. Need to pull my finger out.
Anthony has replied on my Facebook thread that mentions this forum, so he’s aware of it.
It’s an awesome-looking craft. I think this is its farewell year, as it’s put in all its flying hours and the parts aren’t available. Something like that. A remarkable sight. Only ever seen one on the ground. Its number is XH588.
I guess I’m best owning up now. 😉
I know Mr. Cook vanished to CA for a week or so and then came back to MM.
Thanks for that update, John.
Felix Dennis, the owner of the magazine (and any other magazine from Dennis Publications). He passed away last week, most likely from complications relating to the throat cancer he’d had. No doubt there will be a new chairman, if there isn’t already, who will want to show his or her worth by making changes. Will MM be one of them?
Hi, John (and Lee)
I’ve put the word out on Facebook. The password issue could put a few off, though. Heaven knows what’s happened to the MM forum. Could it be the end? Mere coincidence that it comes just days after the passing of Felix?
