The dish may well be pre Sky digital. It was just a thought because running about 5 feet of coax would be simple. I don’t think i’ll bother if it may not work ?

My new TV has a freesat input on the back. Outside my back window is a sky dish that was there when I arrived 8 years ago. The dish looks complete but its not connected to anything except about 3 feet of coax. Would it work if I cabled it to the TV ? (if its not broken of course).

Oh welcome to the club then Bob.

I had the tail of my pancreas and spleen removed in 2012. I had a pseudo cyst in my pancreas that was causing pancreatic fluid to leak into my abdomen. There was nothing wrong with my spleen but as it normally connects to the tail of the pancreas it had to go too.

Perhaps we could compare scars one day ?

Have a look at the NVIDIA website Ed. The presentation was posted out to those on their mailing list. It seems I deleted it.

Come to think of it, following the last order you received is good practice in general.

No Duke we follow the existing rules until someone says different. Should see a raft of new directives toot sweet ?

                          Or maybe not…

According to a report in the Times it looks like the most likely outcome of a no deal is that in the absence of any new directives people will just keep following the old rules even if they are no longer valid. What else can they do ?

Just for completeness, I forgot to mention that UEFI is 32 bit code and hands over to the OS loader with the CPU in protected mode. No part of the loader now runs in 16 bit mode (so you need a different loader) as it can make UEFI calls instead of using old style BIOS interrupts.

                                I have been thinking…

Could it be something as simple as a stuck key, say Tab ? Something that stops the system from optimizing whatever its trying to optimize but means nothing in the BIOS setup ?

It just doesn’t feel like a graphics chip fault. All the people online with the chip fault seem to have vertical bars followed by a pixelated grey screen.

                                Anyway, just a thought ?

It just wont happen. It didnt happen after the leave vote and its not happening now as we approach the leave date with no deal.

The most I expect is a slight stutter while we sort out the paperwork.

                                        Interesting Les.

That early in the boot process you will be running off standard VGA drivers held in rom somewhere. With a separate graphics card the rom is on the card but with built in graphics it is often part of the BIOS. Maybe worth reflashing that.

For your usb sticks you may like exFat. Not quite as compatable as Fat but can do big files
